www.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/7809684/hot-100-luis-fonsi-daddy-yankee-despacito-ed-sheeran-recordLuis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee Lead Hot 100, Ed Sheeran Sets Record in Top Five5/30/2017 by Gary Trust "Despacito," featuring Justin Bieber, rules for a third week, while "Shape of You" spends a record 20th week in the top five from its debut. Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee's "Despacito," featuring Justin Bieber, tops the Billboard Hot 100 chart (dated June 10) for a third week. Meanwhile, Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You" becomes the first song to spend its first 20 weeks on the Hot 100 in the top five. Plus, Zedd and Alessia Cara's "Stay" and The Chainsmokers and Coldplay's "Something Just Like This," each in the top 10, crown pop radio airplay charts. Let's run down the top 10 of the Hot 100, which blends all-genre sales, airplay and streaming data. All charts will update on Billboard.com tomorrow, May 31. "Despacito" (released on Universal Music Latino / Raymond Braun / SchoolBoy / Def Jam / UMLE / Republic Records) leads the Streaming Songs chart for a second week, with 65.4 million U.S. streams (up 10 percent) in the week ending May 25, according to Nielsen Music. It also rules the Digital Song Sales chart for a fourth week, with 137,000 downloads sold (up 19 percent) in the week ending May 25; the remix with Bieber, released April 17, accounts for 77 percent of the song's sales (up from 73 percent each of the two previous weeks). On Radio Songs, "Despacito" keeps at No. 7 with 88 million in all-format airplay audience (up 21 percent) in the week ending May 28, adding the Hot 100's top Airplay Gainer award for a second week. "Despacito," the first mostly-Spanish language Hot 100 No. 1 in 21 years (its title translates to "slowly" in English), tops the Hot Latin Songs chart for a 17th week. Bruno Mars' "That's What I Like" ranks at No. 2 on the Hot 100 for a fourth week after topping the May 13-dated chart. It leads Radio Songs for a fourth week, with 164 million in audience (down 5 percent), and tops Hot R&B Songs for a 15th week and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs for an eighth frame. DJ Khaled's "I'm the One," featuring Bieber, Quavo, Chance the Rapper and Lil Wayne, posts a third week at No. 3 after debuting atop the May 20-dated Hot 100. The collab keeps at No. 2 on Streaming Songs (45.5 million, down 1 percent), No. 3 on Digital Song Sales (80,000, up 4 percent) and No. 8 on Radio Songs (79 million, up 15 percent). "One" adds a fourth week at No. 1 on the Hot Rap Songs chart. Kendrick Lamar's "Humble." (5-4), which topped May 6-dated Hot 100, and Sheeran's former 12-week No. 1 "Shape of You" (4-5) swap spots, with the latter making history: "Shape" is the first song to spend its first 20 weeks on the Hot 100 in the top five, dating to its debut at No. 1 (Jan. 28). It passes Bieber's "Sorry," which ranked in the top five for its first 19 weeks on the chart in 2015-16. Here's a look at the songs to log the most time in top Hot 100's top five from their debuts (all of which peaked at No. 1 except for "Payphone," which reached No. 2): 20 weeks, "Shape of You," Ed Sheeran, 2017 19, "Sorry," Justin Bieber, 2015-16 17, "Payphone," Maroon 5 feat. Wiz Khalifa, 2012 17, "I Gotta Feeling," The Black Eyed Peas, 2009 17, "One Sweet Day," Mariah Carey & Boyz II Men, 1995-96 16, "Candle in the Wind"/"Something About the Way You Look Tonight," Elton John, 1997-98 Future's No. 5-peaking "Mask Off" rebounds 7-6 on the Hot 100, while Zedd and Alessia Cara's "Stay" returns to its peak (9-7). "Stay" makes the Hot 100's greatest sales surge, as it vaults 13-5 on Digital Song Sales with a 91 percent hike to 67,000 sold, thanks in part to a both a 69-cent sale price in the iTunes Store and the pair's performance of the song on the season finale of NBC's The Voice during the tracking week. "Stay" adds a second total week at No. 1 on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs (2-1) and bounds 4-1 on the Pop Songs airplay chart. On the latter list, the song marks Zedd's first No. 1 (after peaking as high as No. 2 with "Clarity," featuring Foxes, in 2013) and Cara's third, following "Here" in 2016 and "Scars to Your Beautiful" in February. The Chainsmokers and Coldplay's No. 3-peaking "Something Just Like This" dips 6-8 on the Hot 100, as The Chainsmokers spend a 56th consecutive week in the top 10, a streak second only to Katy Perry's 69-week run in 2010-11. "Something" also takes over atop the Adult Pop Songs airplay chart, where it's each act's second topper: The Chainsmokers first reigned in 2016 with "Closer," featuring Halsey, while Coldplay returns to the top after first leading in 2008 with "Viva La Vida," thus ending a record eight-year and eight-month gap between No. 1s on the survey. Rounding out the Hot 100's top 10, Lil Uzi Vert's "XO TOUR Llif3" drops to No. 9 from its No. 8 high and Kygo and Selena Gomez's "It Ain't Me" returns to the top 10 at its No. 10 peak (12-10). Just beyond the Hot 100's top 10, two songs performed on the 2017 Billboard Music Awards advance: Julia Michaels' "Issues" hits a new high, jumping 14-11 (passing its prior No. 12 peak), as does Imagine Dragons' "Believer," which bumps 20-15, while leading Hot Rock Songs for a 12th week. Plus, Brett Young's "In Case You Didn't Know" pushes 23-19 on the Hot 100 and becomes his first No. 1 on Country Airplay and Gomez's "Bad Liar" leaps 80-27 on the Hot 100, drawing 13.5 million U.S. streams and 36,000 sold following its first full week of tracking. Meanwhile, four songs debut in the 40s on the Hot 100: Liam Payne's "Strip That Down," featuring Quavo, the chart's top new entry at No. 42; The Voice runner-up Lauren Duski's "Deja Vu" (No. 43); Perry's "Swish Swish," featuring Nicki Minaj (No. 46 [corrected]); and former Fifth Harmony member Camila Cabello's first unaccompanied solo single, "Crying in the Club" (No. 47). Find out more Hot 100 news in the weekly "Hot 100 Chart Moves" column and by listening (and subscribing) to Billboard's Chart Beat Podcast and Pop Shop Podcast, all posting this week. Plus, visit Billboard.com tomorrow (May 31), when all charts, including the Hot 100 in its entirety, will refresh.

47. Swish Swish* 47. Crying in the Club* *The article has an error since it says both "Swish Swish" and "Crying in the Club" are #47. It's been corrected - "Swish Swish" came in at #46.

I'm worried about HUMBLE. Already peaked on radio for some reason, not as big streaming as it once had, and stagnant sales. Very strong chance of exiting the top 10 completely soon... hope it gets at least 10 weeks.

It's maxed out on rhythmic and urban where it's been #1 for a few weeks now. The only place it's still gaining is pop, and it probably won't be gaining for much longer there since it's super jarring for pop. Yes, its streaming fell, but it's still one of the top streamed songs out there right now. Sales are naturally going to fall. They've been super high since its release. There's really nothing to worry about. The song is just nearing the end of its chart life, which is completely normal at this point in its run. It didn't have a natural climb. Once it came out, it was massive out of the gate. No climb means shorter chart run. Not every song can be an Uptown Funk/Closer/Shape of You behemoth.

Damn, I was joking with Redbone hitting the top 10, but after seeing it having momentum on Spotify and iTunes, it's possible. I think that if it isn't yet, it's locked for the top 20 next week.

"Shape of You" will easily be the #1 song of the year. I can see it ending up pretty high on the all-time chart too. It could be, but not easily. Despacito is already nearing 70,000 in weekly points on its 3rd week atop while it took Closer's all might and main and Shape of You the album release week to pull that. Despacito still has incredible space to grow on radio and they could still drop the remix video since it's gonna click with more audiences since the remix is what got it big here. Crazy. It's easily gonna be the song that has the most weekly points since Hello and with more longevity. Including this week (week 28), after 0.95 X multiplier Shape of You has had 1,004,000 points and Despacito 388,000. The gap's 616,000 and raw points with no multiplier's about 648,000 and divided by 24 gives us 27,000 per week. Despacito needs to outperform Shape of You an average of 27,000 points per week to overtake it for that year-end #1. This week it got 68,900 pts while Shape of You about 40,000 and that's above 27,000 more points already. If Despacito widens the gap even further and release that remix video and doesn't fall faster than Shape of You I can already see it becoming the #1 song of the year. I don't know how likely tho.

The Cure is still hanging on, it's steady in all three categories and is gaining airplay. I hope that it'll be able to reach at least the Top 20, especially since summer is here and it's a great dance track. Heavy got a large boost from the album release and should be able to lift into the Top 40 this week. Dance track?

Though I prefer Despacito to SOY, I want SOY to be the #1 of the year, as it has more historical weight. Btw, what's the gap between SOY and TWIL? I know that it's big, but I think that TWIL will have more longevity than SOY. But it depends on the points. Also, the only thing that got Despacito here is the remix; let's be clear. If, as one of noted, the remix will be promoted with a MV or something, Despacito will potentially have bigger chances than SOY to end up at #1. But I doubt that a video will be released. Bieber's biggest rival is himself, though. I can see a few ITO remixes for streaming and it being put on sale and it has better radio momentum than Despacito (well, it's in English). I think that ITO will potentially minimally steal streaming from Despacito and won't let go of that #1 until the next JB collab in June (?), and the Spanish-speaking audience may move on to Felices los 4, a potential dark horse. But if if it won't happen, Despacito has a very high chance to at least end in the YE top 3.

I'm the One will probably become the CSTF of this year (summer smash that debuts at #1 and gets stuck at #2 for several weeks behind the powerhouse of a song above it)... hopefully not the 52-week part though.

www.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/7809775/billboard-music-awards-sales-gain-cher-celine-dionBillboard Music Awards Spur 37% Sales Gain for Cher, Celine Dion, Ed Sheeran & More5/30/2017 by Keith Caulfield The 2017 Billboard Music Awards prompted a 37 percent sales gain for the songs performed on ABC’s May 21 broadcast, according to Nielsen Music. Among the most notable gainers: Cher, Celine Dion, Imagine Dragons, Ed Sheeran, Julia Michaels and Sam Hunt. The songs performed on the three-hour show – not including newly released tracks from Camila Cabello and Miley Cyrus – sold a total of 332,000 downloads in the week ending May 25. That sum was up 37 percent compared to the tunes’ collective sales haul in the previous week: 243,000. A year ago, the 2016 edition of the show triggered a 35 percent sales increase. Eight songs performed on the 2017 show earned increases of more than 100 percent each, including The Chainsmokers’ “Young” (vaulting 626 percent to 4,000 sold), Bruno Mars’ “Versace on the Floor” (up 395 percent to 7,000) and Drake’s “Gyalchester” (increasing 158 percent to 7,000). Billboard Icon Award winner Cher’s one-two punch of “Believe” and “If I Could Turn Back Time” was a big winner, too. “Believe,” a four-week Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 in 1999, jumped 499 percent (to 4,000 sold) while “If I Could Turn Back Time,” a No. 3 hit in 1989, zoomed 578 percent (to 4,000). Celine Dion’s rendition of the love theme from the film Titanic, “My Heart Will Go On” (performed to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the song and movie), nets a 393 percent sales gain. The tune, which topped the Hot 100 for two weeks in 1998, sold 6,000 downloads in the latest tracking frame, up from a little more than 1,000 in the previous week. “Heart’s” sales for the week was its largest in a little more than four years -- since the week ending Feb. 10, 2013, when it moved 7,000 downloads. The week’s biggest-selling song that was performed on the show was Imagine Dragons’ “Believer,” which logged its best sales frame yet: 71,000 downloads (up 30 percent). Other big sellers from the show include Julia Michaels’ “Issues” (56,000; up 25 percent), Sam Hunt’s “Body Like a Back Road” (53,000; up 11 percent), Halsey’s “Now or Never” (34,000; up 28 percent), Jason Derulo’s “Swalla,” featuring Nicki Minaj (30,000; up 19 percent), and Ed Sheeran’s “Castle on the Hill” (30,000; up 35 percent).
