I love you vocal goddess but let's be real half of Janet's albums are better than Whitney's best album and her debut definitely wasn't it.

I am a much bigger Whitney fan but even I admit "Control" may be a better album. If Whitney's album didn't have 2 duets with Jermaine and 1 with Teddy I may have picked it. Whitney's debut album has some pretty strong material on there. "You Give Good Love, Saving All My Love for You, Greatest Love Of All, How Will I Know and All At Once" are all Whitney classics in my opinion. She also had an RnB hit on there with "Thinking About You" and an AC hit with "Hold Me" with Teddy Pendergrass. This album is near perfection as well.

I love Whitney's debut, but Control was definitely a better album. Both are iconic, but Janet made a bigger artistic statement.

I love both artists so very much, but Control is a feminist masterpiece that resonates to this day. Whitney Houston contains some of the best produced singles of all time, but it the themes can't surpass the tour de force message of liberation with which Janet had her breakthrough.

Control easily. Whitney's was undoubtedly more impactful if you look at popular music in the subsequent 15-20 years following its release, but Control is just a better album.

Janet's. Despite Nippy's major success, she's never really produced a great album from start to finish to my liking.

^Ditto, the closest she came to a great album was My Love Is Your Love, IMO.
Voted Janet.
