www.radioandrecords.com/Newsroom/2004_09_20/newbrew.aspMonday, Sept. 20, 2004 New 'Brew' On WLTQ/Milwaukee After stunting all weekend by playing songs with "Air" and "America" in the titles, Clear Channel's former AC WLTQ/Milwaukee plays on the phrase "rock of ages" and goes Classic Rock as "97.3 The Brew — Rock of '80s and More." The station aims to attract the 25-54 audience and features such artists as Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, John Mellencamp, Pat Benatar, Foreigner, REO Speedwagon, Boston and AC/DC. The Brew flipped at 6am today, playing 10,000 songs in a row commercial-free, starting with Night Ranger's "You Can Still Rock in America." PD Jeff Lynn tells R&R, "We will run jockless through song No. 10,000. I'm now looking for an entirely new airstaff, which will include a morning team, a middayer and an afternoon host. It's undecided what we'll do in nights." WLTQ personalities Ellen Stout and Ty Davis have exited, and the station discontinues Cindy Spicer's voicetracked middays and the Premiere-syndicated Delilah at night. From me: WLTQ was the only AC station in the Milwaukee-Racine ratings with over a 1.0 rating. Alternatives are AC WEZY Racine (has less than a 1.0 rating), Smooth Jazz WJZI, and Christian AC WFZH.
