Just have to say something before everyone compiles their lists this week. I know that Christmas songs are usually kinda placeholders in rankdowns, but do NOT put "O Holy Night" as #70 just because it is a Christmas song! If you think it is a #70 song just because it is a Christmas song, you have not heard it sung completely a cappella in a huge echoey stadium, with nothing but low lights and Martina's beautiful voice to carry the song! (This video is 2 minutes, and just one verse of the song, but it is freaking goosebump-worthy )...

Martina does Christmas well. And she has too many songs that are sappy, boring Hallmark cards that I need to rank at the bottom so "Oh Holy Night" will do decently for me ;)

I'll try, but I only know the singles. It's not that I don't want to check out her album tracks, I'm just not sure I'll have the time to do so for this rankdown.

I actually Wanna invite him to the rankdown universe and have him participate😂🙄 Besides what's really wrong with Ten Pound Hammer anyway? Well I don't really like to talk about people behind their backs. But he has always come across as unnecessarily harsh towards female artists, especially ones who actually have a singing voice, and seems to reiterate those opinions Every. Single. Time. the artist is mentioned... And then sticks to those opinions no matter how inherently flawed they are. Which has led to some touched nerves in the past. But I don't have a problem with him overall!

But I always wanted to ask you this if let's say he brought up his opinion on a Martina McBride song once every year or so, would you still have a problem? Also is it the fact that he constantly bashes Martina McBride that also gets you annoyed. I also don't get how an opinion can be flawed or wrong or whatever. You can obviously disagree with an opinion, but no one's opinions are wrong. It's when people try to put an artist as a goddess or God or the opposite and go after the artist as a person or personal attacks where I draw the line. But someone on Pulse saying they dislike a Martina McBride or hell even Sara Evans song and give valid reasons, there's nothing wrong with that. Ten pounds just takes it too far and that's my problem with him. Say your opinion once maybe a few times in a thread but make sure those are well spaced out and you are at least giving valuable information and not repeating yourself. Sorry for the long post but I do try to see it both ways, no offense.

Also I plan on including this video or a similar one of her singing this acappella because it is amazing

Sorry for the long post but I do try to see it both ways, no offense. Nope, I definitely do not have an issue with him bashing Martina. Martina is certainly not immune to criticism, and I am totally fine with people disliking her even if I do not understand it. So yes, if he were to bash Martina once a year, even if it were repetitive, I would be just fine with it as long as it is constructive. And you are mostly right about opinions not being wrong, but what I am talking about is when people state their opinions like they are facts, especially when in reality their facts are based on inherently flawed logic. For example, " I do not like this Martina song because it is too similar to themes that she has done many times before" would be a perfectly valid opinion. Saying something like, " I cannot stand Martina lately because every song she has released since 2001 has been either her screaming about abandoned puppies and kittens and children with ass cancer or else pandering cliched Hallmark chicken soup for the soul motivational schlock" is not a valid opinion, because it is statistically false. That's where the distinction is for me. You can't continuously bash somebody for releasing nothing but issue songs when they literally have released like 4 issue songs over the course of 25 years and 45 singles.

I always try to be respectful with my opinion as best as I can be. I never meant to be rude or submissive of others. Now there are some threads by artists where I'm just annoyed too voice my opinion or heck even give analysis in certain threads because I'll probably get blasted (looking at you Scotty McCreery thread) and looked at as a hater, uneducated, wrong, etc. Ten Pound takes it too far. He is probably one of the most Polarizing posters in terms of posts in the country forum. I mean he is better than other posters who shall remain nameless (not anyone who posts in the game forum though, you guys are all amazing).

raylatch98 obviously it's different perspectives because he's usually bashing artists that you're not a big fan of, but imagine if he was camped out in the Lauren Alaina thread like that gingerbread girl who kept harping about how her label paid for her #1 hit thru the OTV program literally every chance she got. Any poster can and should share their opinion -- whatever it may be -- but that doesn't mean that they should just have free reign to whine and moan about the same things over and over again. You won't see me in the Kenny Chesney threads except maybe like 1 post here or there to give my honest feedback, for instance.

I hate when people whine and moan and in general bitch unless they have good reason. I mean when they complain about their favorites not doing well, that's one thing. But when it's over an artist they hate. I think if you post a negative comment about a song it should be once to maybe twice. Also I'm well aware of Ten Pound bashing, have you seen the "You Look Good" thread? That's how I've been with Keith Urban "The Fighter" lately or if I haven't it's been me giving my usual chart analysis crap. I may have a decent amount of posts but I always try to just talk about the charts as a whole. Also ew at anything ginger does. I have reported so many of her posts! Trust me anytime she started bashing Lauren Alaina and more than likely since we brought the current single thread up she'll do it again, I just report it. Just remember ginger and how she was with the "Yeah Boy" thread?

I feel like "Independence Day" could be the obvious front-runner but I think there's quite a few songs that could potentially win. I just hope my #1 makes the Top 10 at least. <3

Especially because your participation pretty much eliminates "A Broken Wing" from the running And if your #1 is what I think it is, I wouldn't be surprised to see it in the top 5! My #1, however, I literally have no idea how others feel about it... I wouldn't be surprised if it made the top 10, or if it completely missed the top 40... Lol!

I'm definitely submitting a list before the deadline. I'm just finding this so anxiety-inducing because I've loved so many of these tracks at one time or another.

I've finished up until "O Holy Night" and I just have to say she has really good songs. I'm looking forward to listening to the rest of the songs in the rankdown that I'm not familiar with. With the pace I'm going right now, you can pretty much count on me to submit!
If I have to say one negative thing about Martina songs, it's the chorus. For most Martina songs I've listened to, the chorus doesn't really do much for me. However, the verses are pretty much perfect for me in a lot of Martina songs, so that makes up for how I feel about the choruses.
