So far so good and no big surprises. I like the Disney Channel tracks but they just don't live up to her solo material. This just shows how much she's stepped up her game since then.

I just looked at the main cast of all of the currently running live action Disney Channel shows and Zendaya was the only name I recognized (and the names of the shows were just ugh). What a fall. In fairness, this time time 11-12 years ago most older Disney fans would have said the very same thing. Just replace Zendaya's name with say, Raven - there was close to a two-year gap between the end of Lizzie McGuire and the start of Hannah Montana/High School Musical, with Raven being the only 'familiar' Disney show that was still running in the meantime - and Wizards of Waverly Place and Camp Rock would still be a year or two off themselves. It's just cyclical, as all things in entertainment are - the old stars age out and the new ones need a moment to sink in. The fans of the former stars have generally aged out of Disney as well so they don't care anymore bout what the new Disney shows or stars are unless one of those stars happens to cross over into some mainstream chart success. So welcome to the dark side aka 'old' lol.

Demi is the newest Disney star to have a hit, and the only ones to come close since are Zendaya and Bridgit Mendler. There was a time when Disney Channel affiliated songs were constantly debuting. Now a days you never see something like "Magic" or "One and the Same" charting.

Good to see SIO and Magic out already... but surprised at Shake It Up. Also heard it for the first time last week, and it just kept strengthening its position in my rankdown. I even liked it more than some singles, just super catchy and good sound. Really surprised at my rank being the third highest :o

"Replay" and "Ready or Not" weren't huge by any means, but they did better overall than any of Demi's singles from her first two albums though. I don't think Demi even got any real airplay until "Skyscraper," right? But I agree with your general point and the rest of your statement (like about how the random covers and original songs don't chart often anymore).

The last Disney star that even tried to break out outside of the Disney bubble is Sofia Carson. Before her, who else tried to go mainstream? Was it Zendaya (I legit can't remember whether her or Bridgit came first)? That would show you how much Disney's impact on the charts has dwindled.

Yeah, Demi never sent anything to radio while she was at Disney (for some reason, I still think Here We Go Again would've been a pretty solid hit).

Bridgit was first as Ready Or Not came in summer 2012 Zendaya came with Replay in summer 2013
And yeah Olivia and Sofia both haven't even charted yet And same with Sabrina Carpenter
Selena & Demi managed to chart with several songs, though Selena got radio support early and her 2nd single "Naturally" became a decent hit meanwhile Demi had some higher debuts with "This Is Me" (#9) & Here We Go Again (#15), Demi also had much more success with her 1st 2 albums in comparison to Selena.
Selena however got successful singles cause she had radio play, but never got to even go Top 15 until "Come & Get It"

Who did the watered down "Womanizer" thumb song?* That was the most recent attempt at mainstream success, I believe, and it did very little.
*It was either Sabrina or Sofia. I get those two confused.

Also in the discussion of Disney artists, IMO Demi was the best one while with Disney
I still listen to both albums "Don't Forget" & "Here We Go Again", I personally also think she's the one who is the best after leaving Disney because aside from a lot of "Confident", I've loved her the most.

I have no idea how I forgot Sabrina. Then again in my head I don't associate her with Disney. Same with Olivia Holt - to me that's just a name and I don't make the Disney connection.

25. Live like There’s No Tomorrow
Points: 628 Average: 21.655 SD: 6.183In July 2010, Selena Gomez & the Scene released the song “Live like There’s No Tomorrow” as a promotional single from the soundtrack to Ramona and Beezus, a film in which Selena starred as the latter title character. The inspirational song is an ode to chasing your dreams and living life to the fullest. Neither the song nor the film were particularly successful, but they both received pretty good reviews. Two months later, it was released as the tenth track on Selena’s the band’s second album, A Year Without Rain.Charts:None 5. @walker9 11. †ealsünset11. Kanenrá:ke13. Leo ✔14. .indulgecountry17. I remember thinking this was good when I was younger, but I’m just kinda bored by it now. I like the pre-chorus a lot though.

24. Birthday
Points: 609 Average: 21 (yes, two songs with a perfect 21 average...and what a fitting song for that) SD: 6.239”Birthday” is the opening track of Selena’s first solo (and fourth overall) album Stars Dance. Technically, it never received a promotional single release. However, at exactly midnight on July 22, 2013, Selena’s 21st birthday, she released a music video for the song of her plastered celebrating. The song shows a very different side to Selena, featuring trap production and fairly adult lyrics. It was intended to be the album’s third single, but it never took place. Despite not receiving an official release, the song remains one of her most popular and is arguably her biggest non-single.Charts:US Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles: #12 7. aerodynamite9. franklin9. Oh wow, Sabrina is a Disney girl? I've been seeing her name pop up the past few days b/c one of the local radio stations here was plugging a new release of hers. I thought she was some semi-new artist that I had missed lol. Now a days you never see something like "Magic" or "One and the Same" charting. Ah, gotcha. NGL when I first started typing my statement I was kind of thinking of post Disney success as well (in which the last 'class' of Disney stars has done pretty well, especially if you also count acting). But as for success while being on Disney...I feel like the industry isn't set up for that to be possible now, for the most part. There's so much focus on streaming now, and I would guess Disney's going to need more time to figure out how to best work with that. Young kids don't likely have their own Spotify or Apple Music accounts.

Fun fact: Selena Gomez has the same birthday as me. She's exactly one year older than me. Maybe that's why I have a special fondness for this song.

23. One and the Same (with Demi Lovato)
Points: 609 Average: 21 SD: 6.364Once upon a time, Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato were inseparable best friends. They got their start on Barney & Friends together, became Disney Channel stars at around the same time, and eventually got the chance to star in the movie Princess Protection Program together in 2009. As promotion for the film, the BFFs recorded a friendship duet called “One and the Same”. To this day, it’s one of the most popular Disney Channel songs, having sold over 300K copies. Their friendship would eventually fall apart for a few reasons (including Taylor Swift swooping in), but this song will always be here to remind us of what once was.Charts:US Billboard Hot 100: #82 3. †ealsünset 8. nick64 12. @mirza 13. This song will always hold a special place in my heart just for being a collaboration between my two faves, but I just love everything about the song itself too. That chorus is fantastic, and you can just feel their chemistry in the vocals. Great song for two friends.
