This song is good, but I have never really loved it as much as a lot of people do. I would have gladly taken a dozen or so songs over this one in the top 5... That being said, I am not surprised at all to see it in the top 5! I remember how loved it was in the 1997 rankdown! Kentucky25 is the only person to lose a #1 this time.

Seriously though, this song is AMAZING. I was SO PUMPED for it to be our #1 song!!!!!!! And the thing is, it almost recovered too in the submissions after sabre14! But there just was not enough passion left for it at that point.

Honestly, I would have been okay with this song winning. I think it is amazing! I am so glad to see it in the top 5! The lyrics paint such an interesting picture of a relationship that is failing because the partner becomes jaded and bitter with the world and becomes an unrecognizable person... And Faith Hill on background vocals really works for this song.

To tide you guys over while I type up the final 2, enjoy this video of Tim singing "Angry All the Time" with Martina!!!! He showed up as a special guest at one of Martina's concerts. It also shows a nice glimpse into the relationship between her and Tim/Faith. I love it when you see artists interacting as friends, since they usually just seem like such separate entities  :)

Now, "Just to See You Smile" ftw! Given the lack of hate for "Humble and Kind" (except for me but I didn't rank it that low...It's a great song but I just don't think it's worthy of being #1 beating out all the classics) compared to "Just to See You Smile" that I've been seeing here, I think it's going to have a lower standard deviation. Since bboat11 indicated the #2 song had the 4th lowest SD in the game...

I am honestly peeved that this song made it to #2... It is amazing, but there is NO WAY it should have been in the top 5 over classics like LLYWD, The Cowboy in Me, etc. And to make matters worse, this was basically the #1 for the entire rest of the submission process after "Please Remember Me" got tanked!   I was SO GLAD the real #1 got bumped up at the last minute!
