The Grammy's really veered away from anything mainstream in the country categories during this timeframe. I'd swap out the male nominees with the following:
David Ball - "Riding with Private Malone" George Strait - "Run" Tim McGraw - "Angry All the Time" Trace Adkins - "I'm Tryin'" Travis Tritt - "Love of a Woman"
David Ball would've been my choice to win; went with Tim's "Grown Men Don't Cry" from the actual nominees.

LMAO what even are these nominees? If it weren't for Tim's song, I would have assumed I was reading a nomination list from the '70s There's no long-term legacy tied to any of these songs whatsoever! I chose Tim, but I don't even think that song should have been nominated when he also had "Angry All The Time" that year. The list tim posted above is WAY better, imo.

It was like the Grammy were like "Do we have 5 old guys songs? Yes! Put them up and get Tim McGraw so everyone's happy!"

I would give it to either Tim McGraw or Ryan Adams. That list of nominees is a mess for sure.
