#69: LimpidoLaura Pausini & Kylie MinogueStatsPoints: 778 Average: 55.571 Std Dev: 16.992 Charts Italy #1 Switzerland #66 History & Tidbits Limpido is the lead single from Laura Pausini's hits collection 20 - The Greatest Hits. Kylie provided vocals on three versions of the track: Italian-English, Spanish-English, and Spanish. Pausini also recorded a solo version in several languages. The song itself was a huge hit in Italy, being certified Gold and hitting #1. The song also received a nomination for World's Best Song at the 2013 World Music Awards. Notable losses with this one include #70 from Ginger Spice and #4 (!) from Leo ✔ Host Opinion While the song itself is alright, I'm not usually a fan of these mixed-language duets (e.g. "Cose Della Vita" - Eros Ramazotti & Tina Turner). This one is no exception - I'm not familiar with Pausini's discography, but it's rather lackluster for a Kylie song. Interestingly, it is the only song I had to listen to when compiling this rankdown as I had never sought out hearing it before. Congratulations Leo ✔ - you saved this from being dead last! It was also the biggest hit from the Let's Get To It album. The song was selected as a cover people wouldn't expect from Kylie and was featured in Accurist watch commercials at the time (thank you Wikipedia). Notable Losses: A couple others lose a ranking in the top half. Host Opinion Not one of my favorites. I always found the vocals phoned in and the video is boring as f**k. I do actually enjoy the Let's Get To It album as a whole, but usually skip this one. The B-side "Do You Dare?" is far superior - a great club song. #67: Made in HeavenStatsPoints: 760 Average: 54.285 Std Dev: 12.899 Charts N/A History & Tidbits Originally intended as a double-A side with "Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi," this song was relegated to B-side status. Apparently JNSPP did well enough on its own to not warrant extended life in the record stores with a double-A side. Perhaps "Especially For You" also killed the original plan, the world may never know. "Made in Heaven" however did manage to scrape by with a video, which you can watch below in all its late 80s glory. Notable Loss: God loses a song in the top half, but otherwise everyone ranked this pretty low. Host Opinion Kylie's output with Stock-Aitken-Waterman has a special place in my heart. Her first two albums are utter cheese-fests, but the ray of sunshine that is her personality shines through and warms my heart. Her discography is so vast and strong that I ended up ranking the SAW (or PWL) song lower than later material, but I do not love them any less. That said, Kylie sounds rather uninterested on this one, which makes it harder to swallow. The "one kiss" and belted "They say true loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooove" are the saving graces, but that was not enough to save this song at large. #66: If You Were With Me NowKylie Minogue w/ Keith WashingtonStatsPoints: 734 Average: 52.429 Std Dev: 14.569 Charts Australia #23 New Zealand N/C United Kingdom #4 Ireland #7 US Dance N/C Canada N/C History & Tidbits The second single from Let's Get To It was also the first single of Kylie's career to feature her on co-writing credits! "If You Were With Me Now" is notable for turning around the lukewarm response in the UK to the LGTI era and flop of "Word Is Out." At the time, Kylie was facing overexposure in the UK and some backlash for sexifying her image. This song served to balance that out a bit and it worked rather well based on its chart placement there. The video is interesting both for showing Kylie and Keith Washington separately even though their scenes were filmed at the same location and the fact that the singers first met in person while on set. Notable losses: @phillippe loses a Top 20 and our third loss of a #70. Host Opinion I had forgotten I ranked this so low. However, I was never a fan of this one until hearing the extended version on Greatest Remix Hits Vol. 1. That version broke apart the tracks and brought out the strengths while downplaying the weaknesses. That said, it's still a sappy early 90s ballad with tons of clichés in the lyrics - I'm kind of surprised they didn't try to launch this in the US give the feature and the sound. '100 Degrees' started out as a Christmas song (and a single from her Christmas album), but she and Dannii later re-recorded a non-Christmas version. #RandomTrivia

Ehmmm Can we be more specific of what PWL, etc, means in terms of let's say album eras? This follows the record labels she was on at the time in the UK except Roc Nation, which was her management around the time of K25 and Kiss Me Once. PWL - Kylie, Enjoy Yourself, Rhythm of Love, Let's Get To It, Greatest Hits Deconstruction - Kylie Minogue, Impossible Princess, Hits+ Parlophone - Light Years, Fever, Body Language, Ultimate Kylie, X, Boombox, Aphrodite Roc Nation - The Abbey Road Sessions, Kiss Me Once, Kylie Christmas THANK YOU!!!!! Back home Kylie had similar destiny as in the US practically, meaning she was out of our radar from The Locomotion to CGYOOMH, except a bit for her duet with Robbie. Still, I managed to keep some track of her thanks to the airing of the U.K. chart in a couple of radios for 2 or 3 years in the 1990s. Additional info is very much appreciated

Mmmmm.... None of my bottom 5 have left yet :O Surprised because at least 4 I cannot stomach at all, like they're either cringeworthy, trying too hard or simply ew lol. Beautiful> I thought I was going to rank it lower at the beginning, but it kept growing on me and winning over other songs. I like the ambiance of the song, and I think the understated vocals and even the autotune work. Fine for it leave early, but just thought it could hang a bit longer Limpido> really, #69? I must confess that I may have been influenced by the fact that I'm in Italy at this very moment and several Laura Pausini videos have been played in Radio Italia TV, and I usually appreciate this type of collaborations. Still, overall I think this is a good song, Laura is a great singer, and Kylie complements her very well. So yeah, a bit sad that it left this early, but I assumed I was gonna be an outlier as Laura may not be known by many either. Made in Heaven> Finally, one of my bottom third! One of two clear bottom PWL songs for me. 100 Degrees> Booooooo!! Happy disco, campy fun song! Should've been higher, too, albeit I knew that a Christmas song couldn't rank higher in Pulse lol.

However, it is the first to have fewer than 700 points. A duet about two lovers pining to be reunited and then achieve their reunion, it was a massive hit across the globe in December 1988. Neighbors was massive, Kylie and Jason had the teen pop fervor working in their favor. Despite their acquaintance and popularity, Kylie and Jason were never able to perform the song live together until 2014. The song itself was the second single from Donovan's debut album Ten Good Reasons but was later included on the North American version of Enjoy Yourself even though it wasn't actually released as single in that territory. #64: 100 DegreesKylie Minogue w/ Dannii MinogueStatsPoints: 712 Average: 50.857 Std Dev: 14.158 Charts N/C History & Tidbits "100 Degrees" is the first official single release between the two Minogue sisters, even though they have recorded and performed together in the past. Kylie and Dannii promoted the song with an X-Factor Australia performance, a simple video of them recording together, and a vinyl release in the UK (which in turn made it the top selling 7" vinyl in the UK in 2015). Sadly it didn't get very far with Pulse, rounding out the bottom five in campy, disco fashion. Notable Losses: Leo ✔ and Albie lose entries in the top half - i.e. nothing to noteworthy. The song was a massive hit in Europe after the middle two singles from EY did less well than those of her debut and "Hand On Your Heart." It was also her penultimate single release in North America from the PWL years, though it did not chart. Interestingly, the B-side "We Know The Meaning of Love" also #1 in Sweden while this song peaked at #3. Notable losses: One top 15 and three more in the top half. "Flower" gets bumped up with the fixed rankings, and we have a different entry in the Bottom 10! #62: It's No SecretStatsPoints: 686 Average: 49.000 Std Dev: 10.069 Charts Australia N/C New Zealand #47 United Kingdom N/C Ireland N/C US #37 Canada #22 (not verified) History & Tidbits The second lowest standard deviation of the game, "It's No Secret" was released as the third North American and fifth overall single from Kylie's debut album. In Europe, the release was scrapped due to the success of "Especially For You" and impending release of "Hand On Your Heart." The song itself is about discovering a cheating partner and that everyone else was previously aware of his indiscretions. A music video was released to promote the single as well as a performance on The Arsenio Hall Show in North America. Notable losses: Only one ranking in the top half. Host OpinionIMHO, the weakest track from her debut album. I can understand releasing a less-than-happy song to provide some variety after the first several singles, especially in North America where only two happy singles had charted, but "I Miss You" or "I'll Still Be Loving You" were comparatively better choices. Or maybe the shout-along chorus would be less painful if the song were faster...idk, it's just not strong at all. It was a club hit, but not on the pop charts despite the star power attached. It was a single released during the actual album cycle for Nervo's debut album Collateral. Nile Rogers provides an excellent guitar line to add extra dimension to the song. Notable Losses: Apparently God considers this song a sin against themselves and mankind. Three others enjoyed it enough to Host Opinion Such fun! It's so rare that same sex attraction is included so overtly in pop songs, though it is becoming more common. To tide you over, until the next reveals tomorrow, here the first charity song in which Kylie participated. In 1985, Kylie appeared with a variety of Australian stars on "A World Without Music" to raise money for the Australian Deafness Council. It was the first time her singing voice was on record.
