In the words of Montgomery Gentry...
Hell yeah! Turn it up! Right on! Hell yeah! Sounds good! Sing that song!
Damn excited to hear this.
Met Josh earlier this month. Nice guy, put on a hell of a show

Great title, so I'm expecting a great song. Combining Hank Williams, Jr.'s and George Jones' song titles. Not a bad combination.

#1 this week on the Red Dirt chart: "Texas Texas, Texas Texas" by the Texas Texas Band. Not to be confused with "Texas, Texas, Texas" by the Texans from Texas, or "Texas Texas" by Texas Tex and the Texans.

His last album was damn near perfect but this one is going to have to grow on me. I don't mind the melody, or even the horns, but it seems to be an odd match for Josh's voice. I'm hoping part of that is just the quality of the clip, because the mix seemed a bit off to me.

I was a big fan of Josh Abbott Band's previous album Front Row Seat (also produced by Dwight Baker), so the bar is set a bit high for this release. So far I'm not really sure what to think. I just listened to this and "I'm Your Only Flaw" and have to agree I'm not sure bringing in the horns matches well up to Josh's voice. I read an article that compared the new sound to Lady A's "You Look Good," but I hear more of an effort to match the horns on Sturgill's last album. This new direction is going to take some more listens.

I'm hoping part of that is just the quality of the clip, because the mix seemed a bit off to me. It really was damn near perfect album. It took me a good while to get into as I was used to Small Town Family Dream which was easier to jump into. IMO, it is often hard for the listener to listen to an artist's follow up album after a damn near perfect album that they listen to all the time. It took me about 6 months to really enjoy Gotta Be Me (Cody Johnson) after literally playing the hell out of Cowboy Like Me and it took a good month to really allow myself to fully embrace Vacquero (Aaron Watson) after non-stop playing of the Underdog

The advance tracks from the album are amazing! It's back to the old JAB sound! Fiddle, steel, mandolin, viola, banjo, etc., and nice drums (and some low-key horns that complement the tracks very well).

I have listened to this many times in the past few days. I was initially unimpressed, and still it needs to grow on me. With that being said, I listened to "I'm Your Only Flaw," and it felt like classic JAB. I still have to take time to listen to "The Night Is Ours," but I'm hopeful.

I am not sure whether country radio really needs one more song that talks about woman and alcohol Also that brass is just not good. The two pre-order songs are so much better than this one imo, even though The Night Is Ours is a pop song.

This song has really grown on me, as I expected it would. I don't see this doing much nationally.
Album is really growing on me too. I think there are a couple of songs that could connect nationally - perhaps Kinda Missing You?

This is great. I like the verse WAY better than the chorus, but I'm hoping that I'll love both equally in time. Love the instrumentation on this and the melody is great.
