Will zaclord 🌈 and Sambalada prevent Coldplays most iconic song from getting the victory? Or will it not matter at all and it takes home the crown? A mere 10 points separated songs #1 and #2, so every list counts! (results should be up at (9:00pm pst, so start refreshing if you want to at around 8:55)

is Viva La Vida their most iconic song? There are a few I would put above it like "Clocks" and "Yellow"

so I guess I'm the only Alt poster who prefers VLV to Clocks? (I mean, I can agree on Clocks being the more iconic of the two, but in terms of preferences)

I love these three songs so much.
I'm sorry, how can anyone hate Clocks? It's beautiful, and has perhaps one of the absolute best piano riffs ever.

"Fix You" will always be a sentimental song for me. It's not quite on the level of "Trouble" or "The Scientist", but it will forever have a place in my heart.
12 vs. 15 (I think), but I love both songs, so I'm not really complaining.

Holy crap, it actually won. Like I said, this is BEAUTIFUL. Best piano riff from Coldplay.
On the other hand, I swear to god, Indulge.

All three were in my top 10, so I really can't say I lost. All three are great songs. I put "Viva La Vida Loca" over "Clocks" so its all good.

Yaaaaaaay!
"Clocks" is probably one of my favorite songs of all-time, so naturally I'm happy it won.

27 top 10 ranks, not much more to say about Clocks winning... And very nearly 28. I was torn between that, "Don't Panic", "God Put a Smile Upon Your Face", and "Talk" for spots 9-12. I decided to put the other songs higher because I knew they would need the help more. But god, do I love "Clocks", too. Pretty much echoing all of the positive comments about the song. Great job putting this all together, Zedd. :)

Yaaaas Viva La Vida lose! The first time I hear the song Clocks was a euphoric experience, it's a life-changing song. So glad it won.

Oh, boy! This final reveal had to happen during the days I was primarily logged off (following a night seeing Coldplay live! and then working in Linkin Park's RD) A bit anticlimactic for me, but oh well. s**t happens I guess the biggest surprises I saw: - Hymn at #15: I agree with the lazy chorus lyrics, but the whole uplifting vibe, instrumentation, and even Bee's contribution make it a big POP song. This was my first top 10 out (and hearing it in concert is superb!) - Magic at #14: the complete opposite for me, as it's just too flat and insipid for my liking. This had the highest difference with my personal rank (#34) - A Sky at #16 and Every Tear at #13: These are Coldplay's worst electropop offenders in my book, and thought they should've been below #20, so I'm surprised they were this high, especially Tear with its high reliance on the sampling of a 1990s song (neither is better than Adventures in my book) - Trouble at #11: this was my next top 10 out (ROBBED!)... my #7 and I even had to balance with the importance of this song --soundtrack to my first coming out as bi to my best friend and girlfriend-- - Violet Hill: surprise Top 10. Good but not enough for a Top 10 IMO. - Paradise: I ranked it at #11 and I feel I may have over-ranked it a bit due to the intro. #6 a bit too high IMO

:O That comes a bit as a surprise. I was happy to see that my top 5 was the top 5 :) (Still PISSED that Lovers in Japan, my #6 was not even Top 20 --seriously? the instrumental, vibe, euphoria makes me wanna sing out loud with joy every time I hear it!) My Top 5 was SO.FREAKING.HARD to rank!!! 5. Yellow: The first song I heard it. The first video I heard from them. This was INSTANT. I remember sort of having Travis and Coldplay in my list of must-follow acts at that time. So many memories with this one, including long nights talking in the car, looking at the seashore with my first bf :) it's a classic, but ended up liking others a bit more 4. The Scientist: It was my #1 for several days, but ended #2. It all fits perfectly in this song. The melancholy in music, lyrics, Chris' voice, the subtlety but emotional connection, etc. I heard it Monday and I cried. Back in the 00s it was a song that my bf would sing together in karaokes, but that would also represent lots of situations in our relationship. Some years later it encompasses several feelings about "not-easy" stuff... 3. Fix You: I surprised myself seeing how much I connected to this song... I couldn't escape from ranking it #1 due to how emotional it made me. It's a rollercoaster ride, where once again music, lyrics, voice go hand in hand and takes you from sadness to joy, from desperation to hope. It was part of my soundtrack to the loss of a loved one, helped me heal and get better... that's why I don't play it too often. Hearing it live on Monday was A LOT. That's when I just lost it :'( 2. Viva La Vida: It started as my #1 but ended up as my #3. Since I heard it for the first time, I loved it. The definition of epic euphoria for me. I've blasted it out loud many, many times, just to lift my spirit. 1. Clocks: It was #1 at some point, but ended up as my #4, primarily due to it not having as important emotional connection as Fix You and Scientist. The piano riff is magic, the whole song is epic and even the remix is ACE. So it's a very well-deserved #1! But seriously, I couldn't have been mad at any of these 5 songs being #1. Such a solid set of songs!! Thanks matteeeb for organizing and hosting this rankdown!!! Awesome job, and excellent selection of songs and group of course :) Great to read the comments of everyone in this thread too
