Why do I start what I can't finish?

Not only are the lyrics to Dangerous incredibly lame and cheesy, but the verses are notably poppy for Shinedown. Still, it avoided my bottom 10. Why? Because it was a rock song? I don't even remember. It's not terrible, but that last Shinedown album was not good, and this song was on it.

If it's not 'White Screamo' it could be Jordan Fisher?

Sounds more like 'White Screamo' then, I think I'd have been the only one to put Jordan at #1 (and I didn't).

"Dirty Diana" by: Shaman's Harvest Points: 238Average rank: 15.87Standard deviation: 9.98Ranks:

James' thoughts: this is another I think should have been in the final Top 10. It's an outstanding cover of Michael Jackson's song. I was surprised by some of the love for this from the "pop posters", especially Az's #1 for it. Color me surprised Daryl is the lowest ranker for this as well.

And I ranked this at #1 despite having never even heard Michael's original before. AND I AM ALSO JUST NOW REALIZING MY #1 IS OUT BEFORE MY #30. AGAIN.

James, these "White Limo" fakeouts are not funny. :( Honestly, Shaman's Harvest do a damn good job of covering this song, which shocked me when I first heard it back in 2014. The original is untouchable, but they were close to touching it. And I ranked this at #1 despite having never even heard Michael's original before. All I will say is that you need to fix this.

I knew this one would trigger the "White Limo" predictions. #14 has the fourth highest standard deviation with a #1 loss. Though, no #30s.

I didn't quite word that properly lol, I have listened to Michael's original now - but when I did this rankdown the Shaman's Harvest version was the first time I'd ever heard the song.

I'm admittedly very, very, very harsh on MJ covers. I can only recall three that I liked or at least tolerated. Shaman's Harvest...not one of them.

I probably spoiled myself big time listening to the cover version first - because their take on it just works. In comparison, Michael's version doesn't do it for me.
Mind you for a long time, I knew of the song - but I was never a huge MJ fan so I never sought to check it out.

Mind you for a long time, I knew of the song - but I was never a huge MJ fan so I never sought to check it out. DD is one of Michael's more polarizing songs so I'm thinking it wouldn't have made a difference for you. Even at the time it was released, critics weren't kind to his rock-ish attempt, and it was one of his shortest-lived #1s (it was the 5th in his record-setting streak of #1s from Bad, and people suspected payola is mostly what got it to the top). I can objectively hear why someone else would like this cover, I'm just not going to agree with them at all on it lol...but then I'll groove to Blackstreet's slowed-down mix of Billie Jean. No accounting for taste.

I always found the fact that DD is so polarizing kind of funny, because it's easily my favorite MJ song post- Thriller, along with "Smooth Criminal".. I mean, he had flirted with rock before that on "Beat It". It's not like it was uncharted territory for Michael. And his performance in that song is straight fire.

What was thought to be the song with the highest standard deviation turns out to be only fourth highest (which surprises me actually). The high rankers for this were predictable, and the low rankers for this were predictable; but maybe one person: me (and I'm surprised Leo ranked it as high as he did lol). Note: I am a huge Foo Fighters fan, and I consider Dave's vocals to be the strongest in all of rock. However, "White Limo" does nothing for me. There is way too much emphasis on the screaming on this one for me to enjoy it, and I think the riffs get a little too demo-y for my liking as well. {Songs remaining} 1. “Drive” by: Incubus 2. “Life of Sin” by: Sturgill Simpson 3. “Kings and Queens” by: 30 Seconds to Mars 5. “Colliding By Design” by: Acceptance 7. “Circles” by: EDEN 9. “Thunderhearts” by: Cold War Kids 13. “Morocco” by: Moon Taxi 14. “Looking Like That” by: Jordan Fisher 20. “Bittersweet” by: Zac Brown Band 22. “Evolution” by: The Used 23. “Confused” by: SafetySuit 27. “Can’t Deny My Love” by: Brandon Flowers 28. “Church Bells” by: Carrie Underwood {#1's remaining} James beno Disco Octopuff in Kumquat aerodynamite jamesflame cynthia Zedd Daryl Juan Carlos {#30's remaining} Az Leo Sam Juan Carlos

For #13, we see three Top 10s eliminated, but for the most part, every one ranked this right in the middle.

James' thoughts: This is right where it belongs, and looks like the majority agrees. It's a pretty pop-friendly offering from The Used, so I knew this would appeal to most everyone.
