Oh, cool. I'm fine with this being top 10, but it's not among their best. The next song has THIRTEEN!!!! Top 10 ranks, including THREE #1s! What a monster! And 3 #2s, and overall 10 Top5 placements. Oh dear. This is going to be interesting. My hunch is that walker is about to be happy.

I was expecting Wonderwall to be a little bit higher, but sure #9 if perfectly fine.

- #8 -Mariah Carey - FantasyCHR/Pop Yearend Rank | #55 (and #31 in 1995) Hot 100 Yearend Rank | #49- I referred to Mariahβs chart history more than any other artist while doing this rankdown. Mariah, Alanis and Hootie & The Blowfish had 4, 4 and 5 songs respectively in the Top 100, but I referred to Mariahβs more when doing comparisons or comparing dates. She has such a fascinating and incredible chart history, with her string of 10 #1s with her first 10 singles or her first 18 hits all reaching the Top 10. You just canβt buy that kind of chart success - and she tried! - Fantasy came at what was probably Mariahβs highest chart/career peak. She had long established herself as a radio staple, she had succeeded with her third studio album Music Box, which gave her her biggest hit to date, Dreamlover. And the gap between that albumβs last single Without You and this one, the first from her fourth album Daydream, was the longest gap between Mariah singles since her debut (the cover of Endless Love not included). So people were thirsty for Mariah and it showed. Fantasy debuted in the Top 40 at #16, just one spot lower than the record. She was Top 10 in only her second week, a chart feat that is so rare, I can probably count on two hands the number of times it has happened in the PPW era (1994-present). It hit #1 for 6 weeks, a run likely cut short by the release of the followup single, One Sweet Day, which had an even more impressive rise up the chart. | Points: 2181 | | Average: 25.8 | | Median: 20 | | St.Dev: 24.01 | - Fantasy has 13 Top 10 placements, the highest so far. In fact, only one song received more Top 10s. - Mr. Thonk Eyes, Red and @antigonerising all lose their #1. Only 9 people have their #1 song still to be revealed across the four remaining songs that received a #1 rank. Rankdown Performance (range: 77) Mr. Thonk Eyes 1 Red 1 @antigonerising 1 #LisaRinna 2 .indulgecountry 2 Glove Slap 2 weaver 4 Albie 4 frenchfry 4 rgreen0625 5 Juanca 6 Doc Indie Party Rock 10 Chelsea Press 2 10 alexcuse 14 Ky 20 Willow Rinadoobee Breakfast 22 Az Paynter 30 The Brazilian Guy π§π· 32 castleoblivion26 35 Troy 36 Leaf 44 Devil Marlena Nylund 45 peacebone 49 β ealsΓΌnset 52 Walking Contradiction 54 zaclord π 58 aerodynamite 59 American Idiot 66 Green Baron 80 | Beno | CF15 | Choco | fearlessarrow | @jamesflame | Leo β | jtd Thee Stallion | @mirza | Golden Bluebird | @walker9 |

My hunch is that walker is about to be happy. Nope. I am pissed now. Cause Fantasy should have won. How the hell are KMS, Waterfalls, better. Fantasy is upbeat energetic, and everything great about it..

Rooting for Just A Girl now... But it prob has no chance..
Spiderwebs is eh... KFAR is like the most average song ever. KMS and DS are so slow boring depressing... Waterfall is one of TLCs worst songs. 1979 is too hardcore for my taste.

Seriously!! I thought this was a shoe-in for the top 5, maybe even #1. This the most catchy earworm of a song Mariah has ever released. And while I don't personally think it's her best, (OSD is still the best) it's her most catchy, up-beat pop sounding song to date, and I'm glad it was as big a hit as it was. Also, I'm talking about the original, not the remix with O.D.B.

Waterfall is one of TLCs worst songs. 1979 is too hardcore for my taste. Spiderwebs is decent. KFAR is your average love song that only plays on AC radio KMS is better than the original from the 70s. DS is amazing and should be #1. Waterfalls is one of TLC's best songs (Along with No Scrubs and Creep) 1979 is okay I guess.

Oops, forgot to give a clue for this one. I'll go ahead with it anyway. - #7 -Fugees - Killing Me SoftlyCHR/Pop Yearend Rank | #10 Hot 100 Yearend Rank | none- The Fugees had only one song make the Pop Top 40, and it went all the way to #1 as a then-rare one-week chart topper. I forgot how common single-week #1s were but I feel like there were just a few from 1994-1999. Like, less than 5. - As solo artists, the three members of the Fugees all had additional hits: * Pras was first when Ghetto Supastar made it to #24 in 1998. He was featured on Miss California with Dante Thomas, hitting #29 in 2001 and would chart again in 2005 with Havenβt Found, hitting #36. * Lauryn hit #29 with her only solo Top 40 hit, Doo Wop (That Thing) in 1999. * Wyclef hit #2 in 2000 as part of Maria Maria with Santana and The Product G&B. He hit #1 in 2006 with Shakira on Hips Donβt Lie and in 2008 finally hit solo with Sweetest Girl (Dollar Bill), which reached #10. (He did briefly chart on American Top 40 in 2001 during a period when AT40 wasnβt using R&R/Mediabase, when Perfect Gentleman made it for a short time). | Points: 2211 | | Average: 24.8 | | Median: 15 | | St.Dev: 21.52 | - This song has the third highest median in the entire rankdown. Despite that, its highest ranking is Redβs #3, which is the lowest highest rank in the Top 10. - It also the widest rank of placements in the top 10 with 96. That means Doc Indie Party Rock finally loses his last Bottom 10, which also means every Bottom 10 is out! - .indulgecountry has the most songs in his bottom half remaining. 3 of the Top 6 arenβt in his Top 50. :/ Rankdown Performance (range: 96) Red 3 #LisaRinna 7 rgreen0625 7 Green Baron 8 Glove Slap 9 alexcuse 10 The Brazilian Guy π§π· 10 Troy 10 β ealsΓΌnset 10 Walking Contradiction 10 Willow Rinadoobee Breakfast 12 Juanca 13 Albie 14 Mr. Thonk Eyes 15 @antigonerising 15 peacebone 16 zaclord π 17 .indulgecountry 28 weaver 28 Ky 28 Devil Marlena Nylund 30 Az Paynter 37 Chelsea Press 2 38 castleoblivion26 39 American Idiot 41 frenchfry 45 aerodynamite 47 Leaf 72 Doc Indie Party Rock 99 | Beno | CF15 | Choco | fearlessarrow | @jamesflame | Leo β | jtd Thee Stallion | @mirza | Golden Bluebird | @walker9 |

So happy this went top ten, I was seriously worried this wouldn't do very well. Look at all those top 20 rankings, too!

No Doubt has half of the Top 6! What kind of slayage? But.... they don't have a majority of the Top 5. Which of their songs is #6? It's probably not the most obvious...!

Given the last part of this hint, I would say that it's "Spiderwebs", since that did better than "Just a Girl" in the Gwen/ND rankdown.

You also forgot this was a cover of the Roberta Flack song, Killing Me Softly With His Song. No I didn't. I just didn't mention it. But it's true. It is. And she didn't hit the Top 40 with her original. But she did have 5 songs that did between 1974 and 1991.

Meh, this is more of a 95 hit.
Just A Girl will be #6. Considering how DS & Spiderwebs were the top two in my RD.
