Faith was a huge promoter of "Stealing Kisses". Had she not been so invested in it, I really doubt that it would have been a single at all.

Also, the closing line of this song gives me chills every time...
"Something awakes me from where he should be. I reach for him......the telephone rings."
That line drives me crazy in all the right ways. First of all, Reba's voice sounds bone-chillingly beautiful on that line... But also it is SO evocative and packed with emotion, and the meaning is so ambiguous! For those who know the song, how do you interpret the line? I have always thought it meant that Reba's husband died... Like some type of sixth sense caused her to jolt awake just in time for the phone to start ringing with the bad news that her husband had died (because why else would a call be coming unexpectedly in the middle of the night).
But of course there is not really a reason why the line couldn't be interpreted as good news either, like the husband came home early or something! But when I listen to it I always get a mysterious sense of doom and gloom...

But when I listen to it I always get a mysterious sense of doom and gloom... I always took it as though he died as well, or at least something bad happened to him. Something about the way she sings this part and the way it ends says it isn't good. So heartbreaking and I agree it should have been a single. I remember when the album first came out it was one of my favorites immediately and it has remained one of my favorites from that album all these years later. Such a missed opportunity (though that album in particular is full of missed opportunities).

I wasn't thinking of it in terms of Faith's album tracks, but it would have easily been in my top 10. Great song.

DO. NOT. UNDERSTAND the love for Stealing Kisses... literally so boring and dull. I expected it to be a lot higher but very pleasantly surprised its gone. BYE.

With that, It Matters to Me has gone from being the last album to lose a song to being the first album to get down to only one song! :o

This did a lot better than I would've expected it to. I can't believe it was in longer than "Let's Go to Vegas" and "I Can't Do That Anymore."

Was hoping for "Someone Else's Dream" to hang in there a little more, but I guess it's a good time to leave at this point.
Edit: Is "If My Heart Had Wings" next?

Aaaaaaand here's what happens to my #1 in the next elimination....... "In my dreams I'll always see you soar across the sky..." Which is exactly what this plane should be doing. But nope, it fails to soar, crashing to the ground and taking my #1 with it WAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYY too soon...

I think is a gorgeous song but it goes to show how strong her catalog is because I couldn't rank it any higher than just inside my Top 30.

I thought this was a lock for top 10, though I don't mind that it's out now.

I really love "There You'll Be" and it was a candidate for my #1 but everything about the song is a bit too cheesy for me to put it at #1. I don't mind cheesy actually but this reminds me too much of 90s ballads that are full of cheese. This came out in 2001 if I remember correctly?

Wow, songs are leaving sooner than they should. bboat11, I highly doubt my hints, if I give any of 'em, will be as tricky as yours. I'm now second-guessing myself. :( Oh yeah, and sorry for killing your #1 so soon; I guess I should spend more time with the songs before submitting my ranks.

I completely agree with .indulgecountry, it is a beautiful song but with such a strong catalog, I could only take it as high as #21...

It was Faith's biggest hit in Europe, reaching top 10 in 12 different countries... it was also nominated for an Oscar (Best Original Song) and Grammy (Best Female Pop Vocal Performance) It was also Faith's last hit here in Brazil (#14)

"Mississippi Girl" is one of the catchiest songs ever made. God, it's so perfect. I'm glad it's one of her most popular hits (though obviously not on here since it missed Top 10, which I wasn't totally surprised about but still disappoints me </3 ) and that I still hear it a lot on the radio. Such a jaaaaam! Now I'm really glad I didn't rank "There You'll Be" any higher than I did since it would've foiled my #1 rank's overall finish by another position.

Before I continue, take a look at these point values for the next few for a second!
#12. 325 #11. 324 #10. 323 #9. 318
That's how close the race for the top 10 is! Our next elimination only missed the top 10 by TWO POINTS! (If it had had 2 more points it would have tied the current #10, but then won the tie breaker because it is somebody's #1 while the current #10 is NOT).
Also, #12 is only 7 points away from tying with the #9 song!

this song is probably one of the most deserving to be in the top 10 of her entire catalog so am very disappointed in anyone who ranked this below the Top 15 because seriously lmao why!? I don't get how anyone could dislike this song

"Wild One" is a great and iconic record for Faith but I feel like she has stronger songs on her catalog... I'm glad it did so well though (as I felt her older songs could've gotten overlooked... I'm glad they didn't!)
