As someone who watches Mark Grondin (aka Spectrum Pulse)'s Billboard Breakdown every week, I find it pretty funny that Billboard is pretty much breaking down right now.

This is very strange. In all the years I've followed Billboard online (which admittedly hasn't always been super close), it has never been delayed this long outside of a holiday or anything really. I can understand an issue with the album chart but the singles chart? Major rule change?

I believe Meek's songs placed higher than supposed to so yes it will affect the Hot 100 too And they obviously only talked about BLABR record because what place the #2 song on Country placed on Hot 100... 30s? 40s?

My theory is that Billboard got the data back and Meek was #1 on the Hot 100 and probably placed tons of titles in the Top 40, which is entirely wrong so they sent it back.

Hello folks, welcome to spectrum pulse. We talk about music, movies, art, and culture, and this, is BILLBOARD's BREAKDOWN (LITERALLY)

Do DoubleAgent and SpectrumPulse know each other in Real Life? Yes, they collaborated for the Top 10 Worst Hit Songs of 2008, and were on the short-lived Talking The Charts podcast together.

I know that but did they ever say themselves they are cousins or they just random Youtubers who ended up talking and deciding to meet up, lol.

Still calling the wild prediction of Bodak Yellow being the song to dethrone Despacito from 1.

This thread is ONLY on page 8 without the billboard charts, and I'm contributing nothing with this post but just waiting very patiently for them to resolve this.. I wish they had just published whatever they had then corrected it later on

^ No, it's best for them to get it right the first time. The ramifications will be much worse if they publish something inaccurate. This delay is annoying, but not the end of the world people. In the many years and hundreds of weeks I've been following the charts, this is the first time something like this has happened....f--k ups are bound to occur. And it seems like the problem actually has more to do with Tidal reporting streams to Nielsen, which Billboard can't control. The online chart postings can wait much longer of course and could theoretically be added or corrected even after next week's charts are posted, but I just wonder what will happen if the issue isn't resolved before the physical magazine goes to print on Friday.

Worst comes to worse they'll just not count Tidal at all. It's not like they haven't done that before (TLOP, 4:44)

Tuesday, August 1, 2017 HOW LONG CAN THEY HOLD IT? Billboard has announced that its charts dated 8/12 have been delayed. How long will Team Amato wait? Have extra monkeys and abacuses been requisitioned for the task? Certainly the Bible, already floundering, stepped in it bigtime with its recent decision to include free streams, and itβs clearly afraid of further fallout from the new chart. How many spots for label and streaming execs on the Power 100 hang in the balance? Would the Bible be better off sticking to its power alley of covering celebrity tweets and nip slips? Stay tuned. hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=307733

Idk, maybe Redbone somehow got to the top 10 or Meek Mill dethroned Despacito? I think that it has to do with the top 10.

The worst possible scenario being that they actually skip this week entirely, it still wouldn't be a first for the chart.
They used to skip one week per year back in the 1970's and 1980's.
The weeks are still in the archives and are listed as if every song retained the same position from the week prior.
I actually can't find these in the archive at the moment. Fished around a little bit and gave up. I know Rose knows what I'm talking about though.

It was every year and it was on purpose, where this apparently is not. In any case, It was to have time off at the holidays. AT40 would typically run their year end countdowns then The 13 day lag time between the chart week and the chart date that is still in place today, in the pre-internet era was to have time to get the magazine out. In the 80s you might not typically found out an August 12th #1 until actually August 12th

I just checked 1977 and it seems it is the week of Christmas (I think, I always mess up since the chart dates don't reflect the release dates, December 26th chart and December 31st chart)
