I will say her timing feels VERY good. There’s been an obvious gap/lull in established female pop stars having big songs take off on radio right now, and Meghan is a perfect blend of established/still new enough that something could really strike if it’s good.
I mean look at the entire top 40 chart right now. Of female pop star songs (that they headline), everything is either descending or not really taking off (minus Camila Cabello’s second single).

The should have another theme with her music. The 50’s style of Title worked amazingly for me.

Wasn't there talk about her going back to her "original" sound or something?
I'll give her next album a chance.

Not sure how I feel about following up a lead single called "No" with one called "No Excuses", but we'll see.

Thousands of hit songs with a billion variables of remembrance are in existence right now.

That song was my jam when it came out, but I'm very much struggling to remember anything about its tune right now. Certainly didn't stick around in my brain.

Yeah but does the GP remember it? Most people will remember her from Bass and her title era singles. Having the first singles using No in their titles will have no impact whatsoever.

Anecdotal: GP remembers No and Me Too, at least enough of them.

I'm interested in watching how this era pans out for her, just to see what the relationship with Epic is like now that LA Reid is gone. (I.e., will Meghan receive full focus or if they'll just kind of throw her out there and let her sink or swim on her own). I wasn't a big fan of TY but it definitely felt as if the label was rushing through the singles, and the branding/image for the era was inconsistent. I don't think she turned people off, she just took a left turn somewhere and that caused most to lose track of her. It is now or never for her, but I don't think winning the public over again is a massive hurdle for her to overcome as long as the song and Eepic's promo for it both come correct.
I also think plenty enough people would remember No if you mentioned it to them, but similar lead single titles won't be a problem as long as the songs themselves sound distinct from each other.

The should have another theme with her music. The 50’s style of Title worked amazingly for me. While I agree the 50's style Title stuff worked for her, it was also a big part of why she's failed to live up to its success since. The style/gimmick was so prominent and so big for her, you know? Once that gimmick was gone, it was probably difficult for many to buy whatever new style she was trying to sell next. She kinda made a character out of her Title persona - and on one hand it's tired and can't just keep going, but on the other, that's what people liked from her. I think listeners generally have a tendency to identify an act with the persona they portray first. Everything else is "what is she doing?" and "i like the old meghan!" Some artists can pull off new sounds/personas with different eras for a variety of reasons, and some can't for a variety of reasons. I don't think she can, unfortunately. It's a difficult road to navigate, let alone have continued success with. This new single is far better than I was expecting. It's a little too cute maybe, but honestly I think she has a better chance appealing to younger children than her own generation.

Soccer mom pop is the perfect way to describe this. The video is cute and I like this more than I liked No so there's that.

I think No was a ten times better song than this. At least it had balls and you could tell she was takin some chances. I feel like even she doesnt like this new song from watching her in the video.
