I gave you guys 4 weeks to listen to a 2 and a half hour playlist. That's more than enough time.... (unless your focus was on other rankdowns)
Also, that's all for today

So this is the first ever time that a number 1 was eliminated first in a Rankdown? (unless it happened in one of the Rock Album ones that I was not aware of). It was bound to happen someday.

We also had the Incubus 8 rankdown, where alexcuse ranked a 56-second interlude #1, which of course ended up last. ("When I Became a Man")

Well, I believe is that Fleet Foxes actually writes more complex and meaningful lyrics and more engaging and beautiful instrumentals than any of the three acts mentioned, who are just simple generic folk in my eyes. I see Fleet Foxes, Sufjan Stevens, Bon Iver, etc. like how people view rappers like Danny Brown, Run the Jewels, Brockhampton, etc. who garner more critical acclaim, and deservedly so. "Fool's Errand" (one of FF's singles from their current era) destroys "Lay It on Me". (Joy's latest single)

Also I never said that Vance was better than Sufjan Stevens and Bon Iver. I get that Vance's lyrics aren't that meaningful but he's always appealed to me more than most acts in his genre because... I really don't know, I just like the way his music sounds. Which is admittedly a pretty dumb reason.

But my point is that when there are better folk bands that alternative can play, they should play them more. Like, I get upset when these artists continually get the shaft on AAA (and not even doing well on that format for the matter), when autopilot folk gets all the success.

at indulge losing his #1 at #30, that one was good but would've probably been in my bottom 5 on this. Jesus. etc. would've been pretty high for me, it should've escaped the bottom 5 at least. If I had participated my Top 4 would've been Girl In Amber (my #1, not sure how far it'd go here), Drunk Drivers, Bloodbuzz Ohio & Undercover Martyn.

I'm surprised Daryl ranked FJM lower than I did. Not one of his stronger songs tbh. I picked that song because of the Taylor Swift line, lol.

I am not kidding when I say this. We already start off with a #1 elimination!!! You read that right! looks at my ranking again...I don't THINK that it will be mine, but if it is, holy crap, you guys have a lot to answer for... I think I know what your #1 is.

Flaming Lips can do better. No disappointments so far really. I hope "Thinking of a Place" does well. Top 10 would be great.
My top 10 would have been some combination of: "Can I Sit Next To You", "All The Rage Back Home", "Fell In Love With a Girl", "Midnight City", "Bloodbuzz Ohio", "Time To Pretend", "Inhaler" and "Wake Up" or "Thinking of a Place" with "1901" or "Undercover Martyn" pretty solidly in my #1 spot.

at me losing my #1 in the first elimination, but apparently that's only happened one other time, so that's pretty cool. Look at me being iconic.

Well, it's one of my ten favorite songs ever, so I'm not sure if it's too much of a surprise. I will say one thing, though: {SPOILER} It's not a song that I previously ranked #1 on a rankdown.

the Car Seat Headrest track took a while to grow on me after I initially thought it was overrated from all of their internet hype...but the rawness and roughness won me over eventually. Solid song but the list was too stacked to place it any higher.
also knew Tessellate would be out soon, happy it surprised this long tbh considering how regularly alt-J gets killed on our rankdowns.

Thought this might do a LITTLE better, but I expected this to be the first of my top ten to fall, too. I adore this song, just a slight bit below "Step" as my favorite song of theirs.

I would have preferred to see other songs out, but boy I cannot tell you just how happy I am that we got rid of the entire top 2 of his so quickly. It's worth it.

of course indulge had my #30 at #2 hahaha
Outside of "Diane Young", nothing from Vampire Weekend has grabbed me yet. "Unbelievers" was also horribly overplayed near me in its heyday so that didn't help things
