I'm gonna guess "Where Were You (When The World Stopped Turning)" because Pulse as a whole doesn't like songs about 9/11 even if they are incredible, and Alan Jackson is very frequently underranked in rankdowns. Although "Believe" is also a likely contender. Maybe "Holes In The Floor Of Heaven", because it is sappy (although also excellent)?

Up next will be the first song that actually won the CMA Song Of The Year award! Any guesses? 1996. Go Rest High On That Mountain 1998. Holes In The Floor Of Heaven 2001. Murder On Music Row One of these please!

"Murder On Music Row" seems to be soon.
I think more I think about it "Holes In the Floor of Heaven" seems like the likely pick.

I definitely fall into the not liking songs about 9/11 (see the Toby Keith song and "Have You Forgotten?") but I absolutely loved "Where Were You (When The World Stopped Turning)". I love how it was on a more personal level than a political level, and I think it showcased how different people could've reacted differently to 9/11.

"Like A Cowboy" is a decent song. I think I'd like it better if I was a bigger fan of Randy Houser's voice.
"Lost In This Moment" is blah though. Big & Rich can do SO much better.
Also, I hope "Holes In The Floor of Heaven" is the song out next.

Not quite amongst B&D's best, but I appreciate the sentiment they were going for. I do like it btw.

I can't even sugarcoat my hate for this song. "Believe" might have good lyrics, but musically it is a total CLUNKER! Completely unlistenable for me. So glad to see it gone.

"Believe" is a really well-meaning song, that kinda falls flat when you think of it in terms of being a radio single. I love Brooks & Dunn, and I love this song, but I am not at all surprised to see it out now. It's one that I can see casual listeners getting sick of after hearing 10 times on the radio EVER, let alone 10 times every day for several months...

Normally I'm all here for Kenny Chesney but this song doesn't do much for me either way. I do get the appeal though.

Kenny's song didn't deserve to be nominated for the award that year and it stands out like a sore thumb from all the other songs in terms of songwriting imo. I hate Darryl's song more but I get why it was nominated, Kenny's just didn't belong.
As for "Then" it's an okay song, but it's really bland for Brad.

Well I didn't expect this to perform that well anyways so I can't say I'm surprised. I have a soft spot for Brad Paisley's stuff for the most part.

Ok seriously wtf at me being one off of perfect ranks! "Then" finishes at #76 and I rank it at #75. Same with "Like A Cowboy", "As Good As I Once Was", "Chicken Fried" was 2 off, and "Die A Happy Man" was 1 off.
I really hope soon I have a perfect ranking. This is getting annoying.

I really like "American Kids" and I love the sentiment of the lyrics so I get why it was nominated.
I've always found "Then" to be just okay. Really neutral about it, just does nothing for me

I love "Then" so much One of my very favorite Brad Paisley songs. It has always been shocking to me that people are so ambivalent towards it!

The hook is so brilliant to me! Describing how great the relationship used to be and then saying "And I thought I loved you then" to show how it is even better now is a MUCH more original hook than just about any other love song in the last 40 years...
