It's the hook. It falls so flat for me! What?! The hook is so brilliant to me! Describing how great the relationship used to be and then saying "And I thought I loved you then" to show how it is even better now is a MUCH more original hook than just about any other love song in the last 40 years...

The melody of Like A Cowboy does not stand out and I am not a fan of his vocal anyway. Same for Lost in This Moment. There are worse melodies than Believe in the rankdown, but I did not rank it high so I don't really care lol. American Kids is just dumb. Not Then already out at #76. Yes the chorus is extremely cheesy, but the instruments are killer, from the beginning marching drums and the guitar and fiddle mix towards the end. And my #96 beat this?!

More tomorrow, eyes getting heavy means I'll make mistakes probably. However some hints! 75. Second winner is out here! 74. Someone with multiple songs left loses one here. 73. First female out! 72. Someone with multiple songs is eliminated. 71. Second female out! Guesses anyone?

Ok I'm kinda glad some females will be out as we are overdue for some female songs to fall if you ask me.

I'm happy that American Kids is finally out.
Guesses - I think #75 or #74 might be an Alan Jackson song. First or second female out might be LeAnn Rimes (Blue).

It's a well written song. I love the sentiment but Lee Brice sounds rough on this song.

Lee Brice is largely crap. I'd probably like this song better if someone who wasn't such a mediocre vocalist had done it instead, but I actually also don't know if I'd still love the song. Lyrically it doesn't do much for me either, despite the sentiment.

2001. Murder On Music Row 2006. Believe2009. In Color 2012. Over you 2013. I Drive Your TruckI'm guessing one of these 5. Two down... I can't even sugarcoat my hate for this song. "Believe" might have good lyrics, but musically it is a total CLUNKER! Completely unlistenable for me. So glad to see it gone. I have never cared for B&D's "Believe" either. If I ever do want to listen to the song--and that'll be a rare occurrence--I'll just refer to Jennifer Hudson's cover.

The best song by Lee Brice is "Mixtape" from a random EP of his I saw on Spotify. He sucks overall, though.

I actually liked "I Drive Your Truck" when it was out. However, when put throught the not-so-imfamous test of time, it (and Lee Brice himself) kinda burned on me. If it ever came back on the radio again as a gold/recurrent, I'd be 50-50 on changing the station as I believe the song is well-written and not only did it stand out in his catalog, it also stood out in 2013 imo. After a not-even-half-hearted attempt to praise IDYT, why'd I only rank it in the 60s one may ask? Well, it just goes to show that I like 60+ songs better, so there's that.

Noooo, "Mean" is so good. It's one of her best singles. <3 I didn't expect this to be the first female song out, and for a little while in the middle of the submissions (right where you are) she climbed ahead of some others but ultimately fell back to be the first.

The Female songs in this rankdown were great but there's also a great balance imo of male and female songs. No gender dominated over the other in my opinion.

Lee Brcie sounds okay in I Drive Your Truck, but the melody is too mediocre. Same for Alcohol. Mean is overrated especially by Rolling Stone. Seriously the best country song in 2010s?

zaclord 🌈 ranking a Taylor Swift song above where I ranked it #flopstan I loved "Mean" when it came out, but the whole song feels a bit immature to me now. I still really like it and it's probably in the top half of Speak Now for me.

YES!!! I'm not alone in thinking "Mean" is awful! That quasi-acapella intro doesn't suit her at all! And those grammar issues!
