Oh! Disappointed that "Stay" couldn't make it to Top10 as it's probably one of the best and most memorable country ballads of the 2000s... still, Top 20 is pretty respectable in a list like this with so many amazing songs!

Stay - I found this song on the best country ballads/slow songs list a few years ago and I had really high hopes because it was a list made of great songs - Well this song wasn't good at all. I didn't like it back then and I still don't like it today.

I wanted to apologize for tanking "Girl Crush" and "Stay", even if I wasn't necessarily the lowest ranker in both cases. I think both of those were odd single choices that evidently worked in both LBT and Sugarland's favors. I appreciate the sentiment behind both songs and understand the appeal for each, though.

I figured this was a #1 contender. I like the song well enough but this was one of the weaker ones left. Surprisingly it was never a contender for the top spot. It wasn't even really competing for the top 10. The highest it made it was #9. |

I actually enjoy "Follow Your Arrow" now a lot more than I did a few months ago. I appreciate the idea behind it, but I just always found it to be overly simplistic, and almost controversial for the sake of being controversial. I honestly thought it stood a good chance of winning here, so I am thrilled to see that that is not the case! And I agree with fearlessarrow that it is super refreshing to see "Merry Go Round" actually beat out FYA for once. That song is just like Jo Dee's "Bye Bye"; everybody loves it, but it always seems to get stuck in the shadow of another song in rankdowns... Also, a similar sentiment goes to "Before He Cheats"! I love the song, but I am absolutely thrilled to see that "Jesus, Take The Wheel" managed to outlast it! Both songs could have won the whole rankdown and I would have been just fine with it, but I am just thrilled to see JTTW get its moment here  |

LMAO. I should have seen that coming It was close too! 3 whole points!! Anyway, JTTW is one of the most epic debut singles of all time. It definitely did everything it needed to, in terms of proving that she was not just some reality show competitor, but that she could actually be a true superstar in the Country music world. I love this song so much! It is a shame that it couldn't make the top 10. Not having Carrie there is weird. |

Yeah, I have no idea how "I May Hate Myself In The Morning" has lasted this long... All of the others belong in the top 10 for sure, but I could see "This Kiss" missing out.

Unpopular opinion I guess, but the character in JTTW (who I guess you're supposed to root for) comes across to me as so unlikable that it's hard for me to really enjoy the song. Carrie sounds fantastic on it, as usual though, which to me is its big redeeming factor.

I would've loved to see "Follow Your Arrow" inside the Top 10 but I have to say I'm glad that "Merry Go Round" is ahead of it as I thought it would be the other way around (which would not be very deserving)
Surprised to see "Jesus Take the Wheel" beat "Before He Cheats"... as someone who doesn't really care for Carrie in general, these two songs makes me miss old Carrie a bit actually.

so happy that "I May Hate Myself In The Morning" is in the Top 12! Love that song and I hope it makes the Top 10!
I think "If I Die Young" and "Burning House" should be the two to miss the Top 10 but I doubt that "Burning House" will miss. It is a great song but compared to these others it really doesn't compare.
I think the only other song I could really see missing the Top 10 other than Band Perry and Lee Ann's song is "This Kiss". I think it will be between those 3.

It is definitely a great song, but I am personally surprised to see it beat other iconic stuff by similar artists, such as "A Broken Wing", "Before He Cheats", etc. If Lee Ann isn't the last one to miss the top 10, I will be shooketh! Edit: Not to mention Faith's own "Breathe", which beat "This Kiss" in her own rankdown! TK was #3, and "Breathe" was #2. And between the two of them I was definitely more surprised to see "This Kiss" place that highly  |

It's perpetual bliss. This Kiss! This Kiss!
Pure ear candy fluff. But it knows it fluff and I love the use of words like perpetual, centrifugal. The mention of Cinderella and Snow White. Also that music video is so bright and colorful. Love this song and happy it made the Top dozen.
