"Need You Now" is a really great song, but I always thought it and it's massive success was what ruined Lady Antebellum. It always felt like Lady Antebellum had pre "Downtown", so many boring ballads trying to recreate this song. Then Golden era they do uptempo for the most part instead of balance, not to mention the Deluxe edition of Golden after "Goodbye Town" missed the Top 10, releasing "Freestyle" which should have never left the cutting room floor. To this day Lady Antebellum's downfall or spiral out of control is truly fascinating. If they would've made a couple different changes here and there, I think they'd still be an instant add with radio and them and Little Big Town would be going back and forth with the Vocal Group trophy. Instead their current single is only slightly more relevant than new trio Runaway June and their single.

Springsteen, Long Black Train & Colder Weather were R.O.B.B.E.D.
All 3 artists are personal favorites, but that doesn't change the fact that all 3 songs are far better than 'average'
Tim McGraw is so very over rated....

I was never a huge fan of "Need You Now." It's okay, but I thought "I Run to You" was better and wish it had been the one to be that big of a smash.
"Mama's Broken Heart" is one of the few songs I like by Miranda Lambert--and one of the even fewer songs I like by her that isn't a ballad. I blame Kacey Musgraves.
A pretty strong top 20 all things considered. I'm already preparing myself for Martina winning. At least I do like Broken Wing and Independence Day.

But I don't really see it happening. She is one of those artists that historically always seems to make the top 10 in rankdowns, but never really stands a chance of winning. But I suppose with "Independence Day" she will have as good of a shot as she's ever going to get! I don't know anybody who dislikes that song! I wouldn't be surprised to see "A Broken Wing" leave in the next 5 though, because there are a few people in this rankdown who dislike that song that are normally ones who would rank her well... I was surprised to see it even make the top 20. It might all be moot though, because even with a well-liked song, I am not sure that she would ever be able to generate enough support to beat somebody like Kacey Musgraves, who has an almost god-like following on Pulse. If Martina can hit the top 5 with "Independence Day", I will be happy

That Dolly Parton harmonies at the end is so great. Especially when she goes Hallelujah", love. Love. Love this song so much and that music video is such a tear jerker.

Yay! Two of my lowest rankings left!
I like both songs (a testament to the overall quality here), but i'm glad they didn't outlast my top picks! I wonder when my current lowest ranking will leave... I think it is probably a fan favorite here

Nooooooo.... not When I Get Where I'm Going. It's something so comforting about this song. Lyrics are beautiful and Brad & Dolly sounds amazing.

Even thought I love the little "twist" at the end on Keith's version (which gives the song a total different perspective that I really like), I still listen to Sarah's version more frequently... still, great song no matter who sings it!

I love "Girl Crush" but I played it so much back then that I'm kind of still burnt out on it... I would have it 10-20 spots higher if that wasn't the case.

😭😭😭 This set of eliminations hasn't been nice to me so far. I love Girl Crush. It's one of those songs that I've heard a million times and I still like it. Karen sounds so good, their harmonies are on point and production is perfect.

I haven't been able to get into Sugarland as much as some other country artists, but "Stay" is a pretty great song. Jennifer Nettles' delivery in that song is absolutely amazing, and the stripped-down production complements the song very well. The theme of the song is pretty unique too.
Now Jennifer Nettles' voice isn't exactly my cup of tea, and the stripped-down production makes it stand out for me more, which explains my #31 rank despite all the positive things I have to say about the song.

"Stay" is HORRENDOUS and easily one of my least-favorite songs of all-time. The lyrics are atrocious, the melody/instrumentation is hideous, and this is the most grating Jennifer's voice has ever sounded. Jennifer is a great vocalist; she's blessed with a voice that can sing just about anything, but if I don't like the song, I don't like her voice.

I'm glad that "When I Get Where I'm Going" has gotten where it was going. This song is great, but to me it is not nearly as incredible as most of the songs left in this list. I knew "A Broken Wing" would not be long for this rankdown once it made it to the top 20. I'm still sad to see it go though One of Martina's most iconic songs, and for good reason. Nobody else can do that song quite the same degree of justice, and there are some incredible vocalists who have tried! "Stupid Boy" is incredible. One of Keith's best, for sure! It was my #2 in the Keith Urban rankdown. The lyrics are a real strong point with this song, although Keith also makes it come together with one of the most epic guitar performances of his career. I am a little shocked "Girl Crush" made it this far, and especially outlasted some of the songs that have left before it. I figured this one would get tanked earlier than it deserved, because I knew it would be quite polarizing. In all honesty though, now I think it actually finished a little higher than it deserved. I am SHOCKED that "Stay" managed to make it so far! The song is amazing, but it is also very understandably not everybody's cup of tea. This is the type of song that would be super polarizing even if the most universally-praised vocalist of all time sang it, but in this case it has the added problem of being sung by somebody whose voice people either love or hate. I am definitely surprised by its staying power here, as I figured it might go out somewhere in the 40s just because enough people would either hate Jennifer's voice or still be sick of it from radio overplay.

Also, just about everything that is left, as well as everything that has exited recently, has either won a rankdown before or finished very well! I think this bodes well for how well songs like "Stay", "Born To Fly", "Strawberry Wine", etc. will fare when they finally show up in more rankdowns!
And then there's "I May Hate Myself In The Morning", which barely made the top 30 in the 2005 RD... Lol where is all this random support coming from???!??!
