MILES ahead of her debut. It's not even a competition. The singles/album teasers were...curious choices, but at least they let people know we were getting a different vibe. Chill suits her, turn-up ravers suit her, there's nothing Billie and that murmuring throat can't do! Also, with the critical acclaim outpacing her overpraised debut, it wouldn't surprise me if she gets another AOTY nomination. Just ace. f**k sales, streams, whatever. Melodrama got the shaft everywhere but in the hearts of fans and critics, so I couldn't care less about how "well" this does. What is this Rich Bitch Realness. LOVE this look for Billie. She still keeps personality in spades, but doesn't resort to being bratty. Everybody Dies (the sighing really does it for me and the underwater feel. absolutely gorgeous. also, my favorite vocal performance of hers to date.) OverHeated (yup. Finneas does peak-era Timbaland almost better than the man himself, which is a feat.) Lost Cause (whew, this KNOCKS on the album.) I Didn't Change My Number My Future (Pretty sure I only gave this a spin when it dropped because it was Billie, but what a groove. I love when the beat comes in, but even before that, it's...luxurious. Easily one of my favorite songs of hers, especially in context of the album.) Goldwing (even this sounds more Nelly Furtado Loose-era than Oxy does, so again, critics are lazy. What a JAM though.) Oxycontin (what I imagine gays who do meth listen to, but it sounds great. that said, not sure why critics are referencing Timbaland on THIS song, when they should be referencing OverHeated instead. but, whatever, it serves Matrix soundtrack realness and I dig it!) Happier Than Ever (I think Olivia does this better, but OK.) Therefore I Am Your Power Halley's Comet Billie Bossa Nova Getting Older Male Fantasy NDA Not My Responsibility did you just insinuate I do meth 😭😭

My hopes weren't high after her debut album but I was proven wrong. This album is really good. Standout tracks for me are Happier Than Ever, Male Fantasy, Halley's Comet and OverHeated.
I'm especially happy at how much she changed her sound on this record while still retaining elements of what makes her Billie Eilish as an artist. I don't see the album having legs with singles, though. Nothing is really that commercial, but I could see OverHeated/Oxytocin making some waves on tiktok maybeee

I was expecting this to be good, but it turned out amazing. I'm still not sure if I like this one better than WWAFAWDWG. The debut has higher highs, but this one is also solid all the way through. Oxytocin is a streaming smash waiting to happen, I need a rave on Tulum with that song playing non-stop. Can't see anthing being a pop hit, but who cares? I'm sure she'll get some Grammy love next year.

This is indeed a great album, well done Billie. Looking forward to see AOTY nomination next year.

This is a fantastic album and way way better than her debut or EP.
The only thing I would change is Not My Responsibility. It would work better as an interlude with some of the lyrics cut. Everything else can stay exactly as it is.
The title track is her best song ever and gives me major flashbacks to the title track from Tori Amos' Little Earthquakes.
Other initial highlights from the all new tracks were Billie Bossa Nova, Halley's Comet, Oxytocin, Male Fantasy, and GOLDWING, but it truly works best as a whole. Even Lost Cause, which I wasn't really into when it was thrown out on its own, shines in its spot. Everybody Dies is another I can see growing on me much more with repeated listens.
The vocal production on her first album always grated on me eventually, but that's not the case here. She sounds much more 'present' as an individual here, and Finneas stepped up his production too. There were multiple parts on Wiggety Wiggety Wack where it sounded like they just googled stock trap-pop beats and recreated them, but this effort is much more unique.

Lordt WHO green lit that transition from "Getting Older" to "I Didn't Change My Number"? f**king demonic pig about gave me a heart attack! Also, I should not have read this while playing Bloodborne.

This masterpiece of an album continues to grow on me. I would appreciate the title track more if the second half weren't so lo-fi, which has never been my jam. I kinda get why the decision was made for it to sound like that, but it could have stood more polish, for sure. I got my best friend into Billie with this album and now she is like I need to go back and listen to all her old stuff.

I didn’t care much about her debut album, I just liked some of the singles but this is one is a big step forward. Not a weak song, tons of replay value. I will be spinning this for several months. Early favorites: I Didn’t Change My Number, Oxytocin, Lost Cause, but really, everything is solid.

How are y’all “Oxytocin” stans not also vibing to “OverHeated”??
“GOLDWING” continues to grow on me in a big way and might be the sleeper hit of this album, jesus. That intro alone is incredible.

I Didn't Change My Number needs to be the next single. Not only will all the TikTokers and IGers quote this incessantly, the minute the beat drops, issa party. That ending still f**ks me upside down and sideways. It is the shining star of this album.

Listened to Billie’s album, albeit on iTunes snippets. I hope it’s a huge success for her and her brother and I’m sure it will be. As far as my thoughts on her music, I still don’t get all the praise. I guess her music is not my cup of tea. All the songs seem to be too depressive and kind of quiet, kind of like some of her other album. But, her fans love her and that’s what counts. “Bad guy” and “Wish you were gay” were the only ones I liked in her earlier work. To me, it’s more of a listening album than an album you could rock to. Wish her the best.

So far, not much of the album has clicked with me but "OverHeated" is one of my favorite Billie tracks ever

'Male Fantasy' is my favourite song on the album. The Bon Iver-faux folk style really suits her. It's a wonderful song. That live performance is lovely.

That trash ex of hers got dragged soooo badly on this album. I haven't seen an evisceration of an ex this effective since Max got scalped by Demi in 15 Minutes.

Don't forget I Didn't Change My Number and even Your Power, which I think is largely in part about him, along with the trash men in the industry. Oh...of course, there's Lost Cause, too.

I have to say that I think this album has had a pretty terrible rollout, given that the content is absolutely stunning. If they had only dropped the title track and video, I think people would have been clamoring to stream the album in its entirety. IMO, that is what is needed to avoid people thinking some of the tracks are sleepy or dull. Sure, as singles the hooks might not be there, but as part of a larger body of work they are absolutely beautiful.
I'm sure that sales will drop next week by a ton, but my hope is that once people start to actually listen word of mouth will buoy it for the months to come. It's too good to just disappear!
