Did Happier Than Ever trick anyone else? When it came out, I listened to the first minute or so of it, wrote it off as boring, and left it.
It wasn't until weeks later, when I heard the snippet of it on the Hot 100 countdown, that I realized it's actually a rock song!

What’s going on with this era? It's done, aside from the tour. Which isn't shocking. There just simply isn't anything left on the album that's radio friendly enough for pop or alt to latch onto this late in the album's run. But that's okay, it still wound up being a successful album cycle regardless. I do think we'll get at least one more music video as the tour continues, and my money would be on "Oxytocin" for that. Meanwhile I guarantee her and Finneas are working on the next album and we'll likely get to hear something from it by the end of the year, if not much sooner. She does enjoy doing the strategy of releasing singles looooong before the album. Also they're gonna be raking in the dough for writing the songs on Turning Red. |

Billie Eilish can't legally drink in the US, and she's already halfway through EGOT status. Makes you question life choices haha.
I'm by no means a Billie stan, but it's amazing to see her talent and work ethic be recognized. Let's get Billie her Emmy for hosting SNL, and get her on Broadway pronto.

I love, love, LOVE Rina, and I love this song, but this cover is just not it. The thing that's so great about "Happier Than Ever," musically, is how understated and subtly Billie sings it until it bursts into that explosive final chorus. So hearing Rina totally oversing every note like she's Christina Aguilera really kills the vibe. Still love Rina; her voice just isn't suited to this song. |
