This song should debut at 1. Its been a long time a song did that and then underperformed. I think this will be fine. I might be more concerned about the follow ups *Cough Pillowtalk cough* Did you just say 'Pillowtalk' underperformed? 'Pillowtalk' the #1 pop hit? 'Pillowtalk' the 3x platinum hit? If that's your barometer for 'underperformed' then your barometer is broken. |

You know Taylor is that bitch that cause all this conversation. Even if it’s red on iTunes, the video will help stabilize it come Sunday to see it get a strong first week and assist in its #1 debut. I really don’t see her missing it.

I love how the intro sounds like something out of a Disney movie, tricking you into thinking this is going to be a song about love or something, and then it comes crashing down to the hard bass and drums. So clever. I think my main problem with the chorus isn't how it is just the same sentence over and over, but how the instrumental doesn't really suit the rest of the song, especially the pre chorus |

You know, I think the video will start with "old Taylor" getting in a car accident, only for her to return as this bad girl Taylor who doesn't care anymore. It's obvious she be trying to mock Formation, but I think it's also gonna take the Blank Space route for it as well, showing that "She's a nightmare" but now, she's not dressed like the daydream a la 1989 anymore. Also, am I the only one who likes the way Taylor looks now, she looks smoking hot when she's going bad!

Didn't love on first listen, but I'll be damned if it hasn't been stuck in my head A L L D A Y L O N G. Finally blasted it over the good speaker, and its my new bop. Dance charts should eat this up with good remixes, too. I'm not sure I am sold on some of the styling of the era so far, but like it or hate it... you're talking about it today. Sounds like Taylor is on her way to another HUGE era.

Listened to this on some bassy speakers for the first time and it sounds better. I like the verses and the chorus, even though it's a non-chorus. Don't like the cheap ass intro or pre-chorus.
Still don't like the sentiment behind the track but whatever. It's here now. Imagine it'll hit hard and fast then disappear reasonably quickly.

How many times do you guys hear some random song you don't like on first listen but give it a second, third, maybe lucky seventh attempt until it clicks? I mean, isn't that what radio is for? And I personally give songs a few attempts given that I don't outright hate it on first listen, and plenty of my favorite songs are in my library for doing so. Most notably, "Call Me Maybe," "Royals," and indeed "Shake It Off" |
