I really don't think this is the type of song AC is going to have much use for. If 'Ready For It' properly becomes a thing as a radio single I think AC will be more receptive to that one.

Two of them were the same version, a slightly altered/beat/added/sped-up version of the original and the third was another mix I didn't like as much. lol. Oh right. The point of my story was that two of my friends were there would leave the room the music was played in because they hate the song so much lmao! It's funny because they didn't know each other but they have the same reaction to the song lol

Do most songs that rocket out of the gate this fast have truly amazing longevity though? I would think while some might, most would be negatively affected by such a monstrous start.

Most song will take a few months to peak after first hitting the chart. Then they'll take a few months to fall after reaching that peak. Fast rising songs don't have those few months at the start so they pretty much have their peak and drop to account for - making the overall run shorter.

Yep-I don't think it necessarily makes a song's run less impressive though extreme fast risers often get remembered for "not having longevity" even if they had perfectly normal longevity except for deleting a month or so off the rise time.

Can't stop the feeling is a weird case bc the song was released in the beginning of summer for a movie coming out in November. It had its run, and as the movie drew closer commercials used the song more. And then the DVD release brought attention to the song once again. It's actually the best selling song of 2016 and the only one to sell 3 million so far, though closer should get there in the coming months.
