you probably guessed it from Gates' post, but I'm not planning on hosting WTM this year (since that and MM overlap with my exams for each semester, the earliest I'll be available again is WTM 2024/MM 2025)

thinkin bout hosting Wintertime Madness. maybe. So, the earliest I can open this is November 18th. But that's only if I can finish the Jazz Rankdown Series 2 in time--meaning, not having to extend it an inch. And Part 2 is already in a bit of trouble with only 4 ballots as I'm 2 days away from the initially planned deadline. So, if you want Madness ASAP, considering assisting me by submitting for the last 2 parts of the jazz series. They're both very short (only 15 songs), if that helps convince you at all. |

I've been wanting to get back into hosting lately; I tried with 2021 Non-US Hits this year but after the way things went down with 2021 March Madness last year I just wasn't with it.
But I've been working toward the pop radio series I've been wanting to do for a couple of years now, it's why I'd been looking back through old Radio & Records back issues for old pop radio charts. I made an attempt at starting the series a couple years ago, got through one set then put it on hold to host STM and never got back to it. In researching for potential songs to include in this game series I've ended up with literally hundreds of songs (like, my "short list" of top 50 peaks alone is almost 600, and there's also all the top 100-peaking songs on top of that which all up could be another 200-odd).
So I need to figure out how the hell to whittle those songs down into new game lists; meanwhile I still have that first RD attempt, all the lists, all the results, and I'll have to figure out what to do with those too because I want to release those results somehow. I'm also gonna open a Christmas-themed installment of this series, only 20 songs so it's not gonna be that big.
My aim with this series is to look back at the last 25 years of pop radio history (so, from 1998-2022) which is why I've got so much content to sort through.
I'm also getting the last reveals of 2021 Non-US Hits together so I can just drop those and finish that game finally.

Well the UK and ARIA year-end charts are out already, so whoever's hosting can start sorting the list.
IDK what the hell is up with the ARIA list. Soooo many old songs and repeats made the list that I don't recall ever seeing in the top 50, while things like Elton/Britney and Amy Shark/R3hab which had sizeable runs in the top 50 didn't make it? And Lizzo (who has been in the top 50 for months) BARELY scrapes in?! Absolute mess.

As I have been talking to my friend aerodynamite about hosting Summertime Madness, the current plan is that aero will be the lead host and in charge of the rules. I will help him with rankdown data and posting reveals if necessary. I am also doing some coding to make a program that deals with randomizing the order of users and their song submissions and it will generate the lists of songs for each seed. |

An artist RD wasn't how I was intending to dip my toe back in the hosting water (since I've had my pop radio series on the backburner for months) but with everything happening right now with the 'Barbie' movie now seems like an appropriate time for it; Aqua rankdown opening very shortly!

i have expressed interest in hosting the 2023 YE rankdown to some fellow pulsers, and i feel confident being up for the task after successfully hosting 8 (!) 100 song rankdowns throughout the past two years.

not sure if anyone was thinking about hosting it already, but i am *maybe* thinking of hosting wtm? still need to figure out for sure if it is reasonable and if i am ready for it but it's a possibility (but also if anyone is really wanting to host it then feel free to claim it!!)

I'll host 2023 R&B/Hip-Hop like usual--just have to get some affairs in order and then determine the no-repeat list. Just be aware it might take until early next week for me to do all that.
