Formation is a powerful political statement, LWYMMD is a self-indulgent mess and will age terribly.

Formation is a powerful political statement, LWYMMD is a self-indulgent mess and will age terribly. I'm not sure it's a mess, exactly, but I agree with the general sentiment: "Formation" matters in a way that instantly eclipses just any other music video, even impressively high-budget ones like Taylor's.

Both are amazing videos, but I'm giving the edge to Taylor

Both are really good videos. But Beyoncé serves it in "Formation" so unbelievably hard. Taylor could never slay like that, not even with all the budget, dancers and effects in the world.

Lmao. I'm honestly curious. I understand not liking the song. But this is a video battle, so that's irrelevant. Did Bey lose you at the song, thus the video has no merit? Or did she lose you with the song and video? If video, what exactly was the reason? She's certainly had worse videos (most of her videos). So what is it?

Formation because of reasons already mentioned. Love the Taylor video but it's very much a time-stamped moment for me - a Piece of Me, a Stupid Girls... that sort of thing.

Taylor's new video is an incredible visual, but I still gotta give it to Bey here. I enjoy both a lot.

Formation is the moment she lost me. Taylor easily. Sis, what? Explain. I'm curious. I think it's musically where she really lost me. The way I feel about most of Lemonade, she is wasting her talent with trap beats and not actually singing and no I don't want beckyonce, I want a more classic sound (ie. 4) to match her aesthetics. I watched the video (Formation) on mute and while I get the message I don't think it matches the song whatsoever while it does have nice visuals. I think the visuals in Taylor's music video are a good representation of what the song is about and the ending is very memorable.

I like both, but I prefer "Formation" because of the political message.
I also love how everyone didn't know how to respond to it and it had them shook and clutching their pearls.

Formation is a statement, a declaration of black excellence. Taylor's video is a self indulgent proclamation by a woman who is full of herself.
Formation for the win.

LWYMMD had an interesting narrative, great choreography, amazing visuals, and a hilarious skit at the end.
Formation is dark, real, truth, gritty, overtly political, great choreography, and decent visuals.
So it's not surprise I'm giving it to Taylor, mostly because she actually looks hot in her video, unlike Beyonce.

Certainly not in LWYMMD Formation only had decent visuals? Sis, go get a vision check-up. Taylor looks hot in her video? That's going to be a hard no for me. And implying that Bey looks unattractive in Formation and in comparison to Taylor is also a huge WTF moment. Sis, whatever you're smoking, pass that shit 'round here.

They both look expensive but Taylor's has more replay value for me. Her standing on top of all her other Taylor's is a great treatment.

It's my opinion, and if you don't like my opinion, then move on and forget it. In the final chorus, where Taylor is dancing with her guy troupe. Too realistic for me to enjoy watching, I want to be entertained, not lectured. Beyonce looks fine, but she doesn't even show off her hotness as much as Taylor does. It's almost like she's restraining herself too much from actually showing it. It's her least sexiest video since 7/11, Drunk In Love, XO, and Flawless.

It's her least sexiest video since 7/11, Drunk In Love, XO, and Flawless. The choreo in Taylor's video is amateurish (though I wouldn't be surprised if it's deliberate) compared to the one in Formation (the hallway dancing with the braid especially, the VHS parking lot section less so), it certainly merits a different qualifier if Formation is "great". Visuals being realistic doesn't stop them from being great. If you dislike them for being realistic that's one thing, but if they're trying to be that and succeeding at it, it doesn't decrease its quality. I voted for Formation (and I don't think "importance" is something that automatically means one is better than the other) because I think it's better overall, but I'd give the rewatchability factor to Taylor.

Yeah I prefer LWYMMD, it was just one of those amazingly done videos especially for a video of this day and age Formation delivers a perfect message in its video and Queen B slays like always, but the clean cut quality and more importantly the ending scene to LWYMMD made its such a an enjoyable music video that has been on replay so much since release for me
