Radio deal: hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=308162Wednesday, August 30, 2017 MAROON 5 TEAMS UP WITH SZAMaroon 5 dropped a new single this morning that has already shot into the Top 20 at iTunes. Adam Levine and company’s latest 222/Interscope single, “What Lovers Do” (f/SZA) dropped in the wee hours and is currently #18. Top 40 and Hot AC radio stations across the U.S. are premiering "What Lovers Do" throughout the day, including an every hour spotlight feature on iHeart Radio. Top Dawg/RCA’s SZA, meanwhile, continues to perform strongly at Apple Music with her album Ctrl and single “Love Galore.” The new Maroon 5 single follows the February release of “Cold” f/Future and last year’s “Don’t Wanna Know” f/Kendrick Lamar. Will we see Maroon 5’s sixth album before year’s end? Stay tuned.

Is Friends going to go up on the hot 100 next week? Or is it looking like another 2U?

Oh shut up you special snowflake. Ok forgetting about snowflakeism or whatever that's just a weird af thing to say. I honestly think you completely made that expression up, like you could say Taylor is gonna be drifted by radio, waxed by radio, documented by radio, befuddled by radio, all of those make just as little sense as what you said, in fact they're better because they don't throw the word rape around.

Don't take anyone who uses the term "snowflake" as an insult unironically seriously. Same goes with people who uses "SJW" or "cuck" unironically.

Despacito had 502 last week in his formula. Unless LWYMMD completely collapses next week, I think it's safe to say it's done. it was #1 for a record tying 16 weeks, I don't think it has anything else left to prove. It didn’t break the record tho which like many said it would.

Despacito -4.5 million AI today. I don't like the song, but I feel bad for the way radio is dropping it. If it was an American song it wouldn't lose 40+ million airplay in three weeks.

If it was an American song it wouldn't lose 40+ million airplay in three weeks. Technically, the song is American since Puerto Rico is part of the United States but not as an official state (it's an unincorporated territory), but I get what you're trying to say. If it were in English, it wouldn't lose that much airplay.

Despacito will continue to lose even more as soon as the discount is gone, but should still have a decent longetivity

It would have broken the record if Taylor hadn't released her single last week. Are you seriously suggesting that just because it didn't break OSD's record that the song is a failure? LOL

The bottom line, is the main the discussion regarding this song for the last couple of months has been whether or not it was going to finally unseat OSD...and it didn't point, blank, period.

Like I said originally, this song has nothing left to prove. And I'm reasonably sure that some other song will unseat both OSD and "Despacito" sooner rather than later, since "Despacito" came so close this time.

How could you determine such a thing? How quickly did "See You Again" lose impressions? See You Again: 2.0-2.5M per day Despacito: 3.0-3.5M per day And, of course, Despacito is a much bigger hit than SYA. Look how slowly Closer, SOY, That's What I Like, etc. fell compared to Despacito. I don't think it's just because Despacito was released in January, it has something to do with Despacito being a Spanish language song. The same thing happened in the VMAs.

It might have to do with it being Spanish-language, but it did hit #1 at radio and was #1 overall for 16 weeks so I'm not sure anyone can really complain about how it was treated. Why not focus on the Spanish-language songs that weren't even given a chance? And, really, it's natural that a Spanish-language song wouldn't do as well in an English-speaking country as songs that are in English would. I mean, is Japanese radio dominated by songs in Japanese, or songs in English? What about in Spain?

And, you know, sales and streaming are more user-dependent than radio.

So now there's "discrimination" against a song that was #1 all summer? Reaching like this makes it hard for people to speak up when an actual slight has occurred.
