Over the next week I will unveil the songs to be included in this rankdown! All artist that appear in this rankdown do appear in the image above, anyone have any predictions? With this rankdown I want to do a couple things differently. First, we will have the main rankdown but beyond that if there are any songs you like that were out in 1998 (whether released in 1997 or peaked in 1999 or even just an album track) that you would like to vote for you can vote for a Top 10 Missed-Songs. Also, you may vote for your top 3 Albums of that year to get an album showcase with 2 song highlights from the album. Going to do some album showcases but not gonna do one for every single album so this is how I will narrow down what I showcase. Once all songs have been revealed I will have a spotify playlist and the deadline will be Oct 20th. Almost a full 2 months away and due to my schedule I cannot give any extensions so please submit your ranks by that date! The Songs:How Do You Fall In Love ~ Alabama One Of These Days ~ Tim McGraw Two Pina Coladas ~ Garth Brooks On The Side of Angels ~ LeAnn Rimes A Little Past Little Rock ~ Lee Ann Womack If You Ever Have Forever In Mind ~ Vince Gill Longneck Bottle ~ Garth Brooks & Steve Wariner I Can Love You Better ~ Dixie Chicks Wide Open Spaces ~ Dixie Chicks 26 Cents ~ The Wilkinsons Love Happens Like That ~ Neal McCoy Coming Back For You ~ Keith Harling I'll Go On Loving You ~ Alan Jackson I'm From The Country ~ Tracy Byrd She's Gonna Make It ~ Garth Brooks Love Working On You ~ John Michael Montgomery I'm So Happy I Can't Stop Crying ~ Toby Keith Ft. I'll go ahead and participate in this; I have a feeling that I already know what the songs are. My rankdown should be completely done by this deadline given that I won't be working 24/7. Bug me as much as possible if my list isn't in by your deadline.
Ooh, solid choices!

If You Ever Have Forever In Mind ~ Vince Gill
Well, that was a nice nap... Seriously, I think Vince Gill even slept through the filming of this music video... The guy only opened his eyes like 1 1/2 times for the entire thing!

castleoblivion26, I love this rollout so far! I have done minimal work, but I am already 10% done with my list for this rankdown!!!! :) As long as people keep up with the videos as they are released, this is going to be MUCH less intimidating than a wall of 100 '90s songs of which most people only know half or less.

I figured doing a rollout like this would help people get through them better. Not sure how many I'll do each day but I'll get through them.
I haven't done my own ranks yet but I will say I'm like 90% positive my #1 is already revealed lol. I put all the songs in a randomizer and this is the order they came up in. There are some songs that were in the 1997 rankdown that will be reprised here because of how big of hits they were in 1998. This is something I tried to avoid with the 1999 list so that if a song needed to be in the 1999 one I removed it from the 1998 one so both list are done. I do also promise a couple of surprise songs that no one will probably expect to be in this.
Should I post 5 more today or wait until tomorrow night?

My favorite songs from her that were released in 1998 are actually a part of the 1999 rankdown where she will likely be #1 for me. will post the next 5 songs shortly

Ah I forgot how much I enjoyed Keith Harling! :) Keith Harling has two songs I really like and both are on this rankdown (if you know the other song he had out in 1998 then you know the song).

Yup his biggest hit! I'm a little surprised either were big enough to make the top 100 songs of the year though! :o

I did remove one or two songs that were included in the 1997 rankdown that were in the bottom 20 songs of the year (like "Valentine")

Lol it's just weird to realize that I am now the age that she was when she was bringing the Dixie Chicks to superstardom! To me she has always just been "older than me", so the thought of her only being 24 in 1998 is super weird.

Here are the last 5 songs of tonight:
Love Working On You ~ John Michael Montgomery
I'm So Happy I Can't Stop Crying ~ Toby Keith & Sting
Double Wide Paradise ~ Toby Keith
Forever Love ~ Reba McEntire
Just To See You Smile ~ Tim McGraw *Note: this was the #1 song of the year for 1998 so I couldn't justify not including it even though it was in the 1997 Rankdown
