I'm tired of people trying to kick down Taylor when they think she's down.This song has been steadily gaining on airplay since it came out and is now in the top 20.The video views for this are now up to 8 million.Gorgeous is the #1 digital single for this week.I understand people are thinking about the fall thar LWYMMD took but she still has 2 other singles doing good.Most artists would love to have the success that Taylor is having. I don't think people are trying to "kick down" Taylor. If I didn't like her music, I wouldn't even be in the thread in the first place. Expressing both disappointment and a less than stellar forecast is just the normal analysis, discussion and opinion making we do for pretty much any song we discuss. If it helps, when I forecast doom, I'm usually wrong. |

Should've been #2 on iTunes by now :( Glad to see non-Taylor fans liking it more than the fans lol I love the fact that it's well thought out and planned but the gp won't even think about reading the actual meaning. It has no replay value for people who aren't that obsessed with Taylor or the song.

This explains quite brilliantly (particulatly the featured tumblr posts Taylor thumbed up herself) a plot/premise that many thought were lackluster (myself included) and this knowledge elevates the video to more than just incredible visuals. Unfortunately for her, the general public aren't going to do the diving for meaning and are just going to be left, as has been noticed, with a feeling of being totally lost and/or thinking there wasn't a story here....when there clearly was. Good stuff regardless! |

In a nutshell Taylor is revealing herself to actually be the snake we all know she is?  I did see that slithering though  All in all the last minute of the music video is visually stunning but that's all that the video has going for it The message sin it if they're what people have made it out to be are also great, though I was hoping for something more epic like a battle |

The video is visually stunning. Sure there’s no plot, but why do we always need a plot? The thing is a blockbuster movie. I love it. There’s also a lot of symbolism here, so I feel like maybe we’re just “missing” the plot. I want the plot to hit me like Brandy. |

Ok here’s your f**king plot. And now I love this video just as much as LWYMMD. I don't think spray painting snakes on the wall or giving her Teen Wolf eyes counts as a plot. It reminds me of Lady Gaga videos from 2011 when her fans would make 10 minute videos analysing every release. LWYMMD didn't have a plot either, but it had costume changes, movement, props and scenary. That's what this video is missing. You can tell that Taylor is trying her hardest, but she doesn't have enough charisma to pull off 4 minutes of angry looks in a Sith costume and innocent looks in a bodysuit. I think her "hardest" worked quite well so I guess whether this video is good is a very subjective opinion (?) |

I agree with many of the feelings already expressed, so I’d merelynlike to add that the hoodie, lighting, CGI and multiple personality theme very much called to mind a more expensive, less embarrassing version of Christina’s “Keeps Gettin’ Better” video. I’m sure that’s NOT intentional, LOL.

Sure, art is meant to be subjective but in order to interpret a meaning there needs to be something easy enough to pick up on.
