Today we welcome both @adam1995 and codyj100 to our group! That makes 9 of us, and there's still a week to go! Some tidbits:-5 songs have been ranked at #1 by somebody -6 songs have been ranked in last place by somebody -Somebody's #1 is also the song that has been ranked in last place by the most people! -Between the 9 of us, everybody has had a different 11th-place ranking. Every other position has at least one duplicate! - White Christmas is the only album that has yet to receive a single vote -We have had the same #1 for the entire submission process... ...But that could easily change with the next submission, because WE CURRENTLY HAVE A TIE FOR #1!!!!!!! Keep the submissions coming, folks! Advocate for your faves! At this point results are starting to solidify, to the point where individual lists are not changing the results as much. That being said, some songs are ahead of others by a mere 1 or 2 points, so this competition is still far from finished!

Today I would like to welcome dub and fearlessarrow to the fun! We now have ELEVEN participants for the Eleven rankdown! I ought to close it now, because that is too perfect! BTW, fearlessarrow ruined EVERYTHING, and now we have a new #1 for the very first time in the entire submission process. Stupid pop posters! (Really though, the new #1 is only ahead of the previous #1 by 1 point, so this is still anybody's race!) Also, our 7th place song has now jumped into the top 5, at #4! In that position, it is only 3 points ahead of the 6th place song. Oh, and #4 is currently tied with #5 The top 10 is also a super close race, as #10 is beating #11 by only 4 points. In fact, 10 and 11 are pretty much switching places with every submission at this point! The only race that is not so close is for last place. One song is finally starting to run away with it, after 2 or 3 songs switched around for last place early on in the process.

Not sure if this Google Forms approach will work for me; I was somehow about to submit two lists; one last night and the other one just now.

I just went back to that link and it somehow let me do another list with no problems (e.g. a message popping up about a submission being already sent; I did something similar for a GRE subject test quesiton-of-the-day several months back and it only let me do one response per day and assume your form would do the same thing.).

Lol yeah, I know you didn't mean to It's all good! There is definitely a feature that only allows people to submit a form once, but I chose not to restrict this one. I figured people would only send me one, and if they didn't, I could just delete the extra. And in the end that ended up being a good idea, because 2 people sent me a PM rather than using the Form, so I was able to go in and submit a form in their name just to make sure all the data was in the same place!

Eleven Rankdown: Results time!
Final Participant List: (16) @adam1995 I am so thrilled that each and every one of you was able to participate in this! I see a lot of names here of people who already love Martina McBride, but there are also a few who are fairly new to her. This diversity of opinions will definitely make this rankdown even more fun! Please feel free to contribute whatever thoughts and opinions you might have at any point during this rankdown. Say what you loved. Say what didn't work for you. Good or ugly, we want to hear it. We are going to celebrate this album the best way we know how. By coming together to share our opinions and seeing how they stack up collectively to determine which song gets the esteemed title of "Pulse's Favorite". I hope everybody learns something new during this rankdown, and walks away with an unshakeable appreciation for Martina. After all, this is but the first of a series, so hopefully you all have enough fun to be willing to come back for round 2 next month! Here are some random stats for us: -7 of the 15 songs were ranked at #1 by somebody! -8 of the 15 songs were ranked at #15 by somebody -3 songs were ranked at both #1 and #15 by people. -Only 1 person ranked both #15 AND #1 correctly! -One person will lose their #1 BEFORE they lose their #15... -Two people will lose their #1 before the top 10. -The #1 song has changed again since our last update. -No song really ran away with anything. These results are CLOSE! -That being said, #1 is only ahead of #2 by 3 points, but #2 beat #3 by 20 points, which is one of the larger gaps in the rankdown. So our top 2 kinda owned the competition, and changed hands a couple times in the process! -Only 1 point separates #3 from #4. -#3 is only 4 points ahead of #5. This was a super powerful and close top 5! -There is a tie between #13 and #14. Some questions to get us started:1) What will be #1? 2) What will be #15? 3) Which songs belong in the top 5? 4) What song will be most polarizing? Least polarizing? 5) Which of the bonus tracks will place highest? (You're In My House Now, Ask The Boy, Closing Time, I Give It To You) 6) What will be the highest-placing album track? 7) What will be the highest-placing single? 8) Which album do you think won the voting for our next album? 9) Any other thoughts/predictions?

I usually suck at predictions but I'm going to do them anyway :)
1) What will be #1? I'm Gonna Love You Through It. And if it won't win I'm pretty sure that it will end up in second place.
2) What will be #15? One of the Deluxe edition bonus tracks or Marry Me.
3) Which songs belong in the top 5? I'm Gonna Love You Through It and Teenage Daughters
4) What song will be most polarizing? Least polarizing? Most: One Night Least: Long Distance Lullaby
5) Which of the bonus tracks will place highest? (You're In My House Now, Ask The Boy, Closing Time, I Give It To You ) I Give It To You
6) What will be the highest-placing album track? One Night or Whatcha Gonna Do
7) What will be the highest-placing single? I'm Gonna Love You Through It
8) Which album do you think won the voting for our next album? Evolution

1) What will be #1? - When You Love a Sinner?
2) What will be #15? - I have no clue, maybe Marry Me
3) Which songs belong in the top 5? - Teenage Daughters, Whatcha Gonna Do, When You Love a Sinner, Closing Time, I'm Gonna Love You Through It. (I don't think I even ranked all of these in the top 5, but I think they all have a shot)
4) What song will be most polarizing? Least polarizing? - Most - One Night, Least - Long Distance Lullaby
5) Which of the bonus tracks will place highest? (You're In My House Now, Ask The Boy, Closing Time, I Give It To You) - Closing Time
6) What will be the highest-placing album track? - When You Love a Sinner or Whatcha Gonna Do
7) What will be the highest-placing single? - Probably I'm Gonna Love You Through It, but hopefully Teenage Daughters.
8) Which album do you think won the voting for our next album? - Evolution
9) Any other thoughts/predictions? - I think the results are going to be all over the place. Due to the fact that there is so much variety of styles on album, it's not uniform in style at all. I honestly, have no idea how the rankings are going to go because of this.

1) What will be #1? "I'm Gonna Love You Through It"
2) What will be #15? "Marry Me" or "Closing Time"
3) Which songs belong in the top 5? IGLYTI and When You Love a Sinner seem like the most obvious two. Probably "Teenage Daughters" as well.
4) What song will be most polarizing? Least polarizing? Polarizing: "Always Be This Way" maybe? // Least polarizing: "When You Love a Sinner" is my guess.
5) Which of the bonus tracks will place highest? (You're In My House Now, Ask The Boy, Closing Time, I Give It To You) Gonna say "Ask the Boy"
6) What will be the highest-placing album track? "When You Love a Sinner"
7) What will be the highest-placing single? IGLYTI
8) Which album do you think won the voting for our next album? Oh gosh, idk! I think Evolution is highly regarded as her best so maybe that one.
9) Any other thoughts/predictions? I hope "Broken Umbrella" makes Top 5! That's one of my favorite album tracks she's ever done.

I'm curious to see where everyone ranked the bonus tracks, because I had not listened to them prior to this rankdown. IMO, one or two of them should have made the album, as they seem to be better than a few of the standard album tracks.

I'm loving all the predictions and thoughts so far! I was planning to start this tonight, but I ended up spending the last hour making the George Strait rankdown thread, and now I am about to go over to a friend's house... And you never know if that will turn into a late night when you are living the bachelor life Lol! So if I come home at a reasonable hour I will start this, and if not, I will start it first thing tomorrow. I am so excited for this!

1) What will be #1?
it is between "I'm Gonna Love You Through It", "One Night", or "Whatcha Gonna Do"
2) What will be #15?
"Marry Me" is the right answer but maybe one of the bonus tracks like "I Give It To You" or "Ask The Boy"
3) Which songs belong in the top 5?
the 3 I mentioned could be #1 plus "Broken Umbrella" and "You Can Get Your Lovin' Right Here". Maybe "When You Love A Sinner" since many people seem to think it has a chance at #1
4) What song will be most polarizing? Least polarizing?
Most: "When You Love A Sinner", "Teenage Daughter" and "I'm Gonna Love You Through It" Least: "Whatcha Gonna Do", "One Night" and "Marry Me"
5) Which of the bonus tracks will place highest? (You're In My House Now, Ask The Boy, Closing Time, I Give It To You)
Should be "You're In My House Now" but maybe "Closing Time"
6) What will be the highest-placing album track?
"Whatcha Gonna Do" or "One Night" with "When You Love A Sinner" possibly taking that title
7) What will be the highest-placing single?
"I'm Gonna Love You Through It" easily. No way "Teenage Daughter" or "Marry Me" does better
8) Which album do you think won the voting for our next album?
I cannot wait to see! Love every single album!
9) Any other thoughts/predictions?
"Long Distance Lullaby" and "Marry Me" definitely are missing top 10, with "Summer of Love", "Closing Time", "I Give It To You" and "Ask The Boy" either missing the Top 10 or being one of the first songs to go once Top 10 starts.
Cannot wait for this to begin!!!

As you can see from the graph below, this song never really had a chance. It got all the way up to #13 at one point, thanks to someguy 's #10 vote right after born 's top 5 vote! But unfortunately by the time tim came along and put it in his top 5, it was too late to save the song from last place.
Honestly, I don't think this song is bad at all. It is just kinda boring, and the fact that it was a single over many of the other fan favorites that we will see later in this rankdown kinda put the nail in the coffin in my opinion.

I knew this would be at the bottom. This just does not compare to any of the other songs on the album imo. Even all the bonus tracks are stronger than this. This song ended her radio career and it is too bad because following "I'm Gonna Love You Through It" she could have continued to have hits with "One Night", "Whatcha Gonna Do" or "Broken Umbrella".

BTW, I will be posting live videos for each of these songs whenever possible! I would highly recommend checking them out, so you can get a sense for Martina's stage presence rather than just her studio presence. She is an incredible performer There is a cool story behind the video above, for those of you who don't know it... At the 2012 ACM awards, Martina and Pat performed this song onstage, and selected a couple to get married onstage during their performance. Yes, that is a real wedding going on in the background! Unfortunately the end result ended up being pretty awkward, imo, but it was a really cool idea! Plus the sound is slightly off, as is to be expected during awards shows in recent years...
