Now that Winter 2014 has begun its reveal process, it's time to open up the submissions for the next rankdown in the Au$tin Presents series! This go around, I went through my iPod and made a massive playlist of songs that you guys likely haven't heard from albums that didn't spawn well known or well remembered hits. Each artist is only allowed to appear twice in each set. Each set is chosen from random. May I present to you, 20 songs you guys have likely never heard! Allison Iraheta - D Is for Dangerous Angel Taylor - Like You Do Ashley Tisdale - Guilty Pleasure Casey Abrams - Get Out Cheyenne Kimball - The Day Has Come Christina Grimmie - Without Him Clinton Sparks - Stay with You Tonight (feat. Riff Raff) Fallbrooke - Losin' It Hilary Duff - Any Other Day Jennette McCurdy - Homeless Heart Jessie Ware - Wildest Moments Kari Faux - No Small Talk Karmin - Easy Money Lights Over Paris - Turn Off the Lights Marlon Roudette - When the Beat Drops Out Matisse - Better Than Her Runner Runner - Unstoppable Ryan Lombard - I Was Cured, Alright Samantha Jade - What You've Done to Me Say Anything - Do Better You will notice that six songs are not available on Spotify. Guilty PleasureLosin' ItAny Other DayHomeless HeartTurn Off the LightsBetter Than Her* * - This technically is on Spotify, but only the Akon remix for some reason. The original version was removed when the single got re-released with Akon several years ago and cannot be found on any streaming service/digital retailer, making the original solo version almost a rarity! {Titles Only}Any Other Day Better Than Her D Is for Dangerous The Day Has Come Do Better Easy Money Get Out Guilty Pleasure Homeless Heart I Was Cured, Alright Like You Do Losin' It No Small Talk Stay with You Tonight (feat. Riff Raff) Turn Off the Lights Unstoppable What You've Done to Me When the Beat Drops Out Wildest Moments Without Him Rules-Anyone is free to participate! -You must listen to each of these songs before playing. -Rank the songs from 1 to 20. 1 is your favorite. 20 is your least favorite. -Send your ranking to me through personal message. -Do not discuss your rankings with anyone. You may allude to your rankings, but you cannot blatantly say "I put X at #5" or anything like that. (Read the other rankdown threads to get an idea of what you can and cannot talk about.) -You are allowed to change your rankings until the submission period closes. -You MUST rank the version of the song I link here. No remixes or alternate versions allowed. This is true for almost all of the rankdowns in this series since it is based off of my personal taste. I will notify you when you can rank based on other versions. -Remember to rank based off of your preferences only. Do not try to put a song higher or lower to go with the crowd. That makes it all less fun! -Ranks are due October 1, 2017 at 11:59pm CST. There will not be any extensions! - Link to preference revealer.TagsIf you are being tagged, it is because you have met one of the following criteria: -You have been an active participant of a rankdown currently featured on the first page of the Games section. -You participated in my Au$tin Presents: Winter 2014 Rankdown. I'll see if I have time, so chances are I'll submit right at the deadline if it happens. I only know "When the Beat Drops Out" out of this list, so it should be a rankdown full of discoveries for me (if I manage to squeeze this in)!

I know "When the Beat Drops Out" was a pretty big hit in the UK and that's why I know the song. I just checked the Wikipedia page for the song and apparently it was a hit across Europe and also went top 20 in Australia. So it kind of makes sense if that's the song people might know (including you and me). But I guess if you mostly follow US charts then you wouldn't know this song...

I know that this list is almost completely songs you guys don't know, so I've decided to do the drip-feed thing like I did with the Shuffle and Kesha rankdowns. Two tracks per day until they're all given a chance in the spotlight. Allison Iraheta - D Is for Dangerous Allison Iraheta was a finalist on the eighth season of American Idol. She placed fourth behind Kris Allen, Adam Lambert, and Danny Gokey. Not too long after her 4th place finish, Allison snagged a record deal with Jive and released her debut album, Just Like You. The album spawned three singles, "Friday I'll Be Over U," "Scars," and "Don't Waste the Pretty." Unfortunately for Allison, none of her singles managed to take off, though the album did open respectfully at #35 on the Billboard 200. "D Is for Dangerous" is the seventh track off of that album. Since the album, she was released from her record label and started a band called Halo Circus, which released their debut album independently in 2016. Angel Taylor - Like You Do Angel Taylor came about to Columbia Records in the midst of the hot AC bang that followed the success of artists like Colbie Caillat. Her team was very excited to work with her to get her out in the spotlight, and they did manage some damage at the beginning with this track. It snagged promo slots in One Tree Hill and Tough Love, which resulted in the song getting some love from VH1. However, neither the song or Angel took off. Skip ahead several years and Angel popped up again on season two of The Voice, though she was quickly eliminated in the battle rounds against Katrina Parker. I've heard of When the Beat Drops Out before clickbait alert That song may have been some degree of a hit here, I don't remember. But I know the song, it was given a US release which didn't take if I recall. The song itself kinda bored me a little lol. EDIT (2 Seconds Later LOL): Yep. 'When The Beat Drops Out' spent 4 weeks in the top 20 on the ARIA chart (10 weeks in total) and it peaked at #15.

Ashley Tisdale - Guilty Pleasure NOT ON SPOTIFY Ashley Tisdale is of course known for her breakout roles on the Disney Channel. She hit the 1-2 punch of Maddie on The Suite Life of Zack & Cody and Sharpay on High School Musical. Not too long after the success of HSM, Ashley began her own music career, leading with the strong debut of Headstrong, which opened up at number five on the Billboard 200 and is certified gold by the RIAA. It most notably spawned the singles "Be Good to Me" and "He Said She Said." BGTM failed to really take off, but was featured prominently on the Disney Channel. HSSS, on the other hand, was a bit too risque for Disney, but it did manage to peak at #39 on Mediabase's CHR/Top 40 chart. Her second album, Guilty Pleasure, was unfortunately less successful. It only opened at number 12 on the Billboard 200 and quickly faded away. It did spawn two singles, one of which managed to hit the Hot 100 and number 99, but the album disappeared pretty fast. "Guilty Pleasure" is a bonus track from that album. Ashley was released from her record label after several years of inactivity. She released a few one off singles independently, but nothing more than that ever materialized. Currently, you can watch her cover several songs on her YouTube channel. She is also the executive producer and regular guest star on the ABC FamilyFreeform show, Young & Hungry, which stars fellow Disney starlette Emily Osment from Hannah Montana. Casey Abrams - Get Out Casey Abrams is another American Idol finalist like Allison Iraheta. He placed sixth in the tenth season behind Scotty McCreery, Lauren Alaina, Haley Reinhart, James Durbin, and Jacob Lusk. (Wow, the viewers really liked their country vocalists that year.) Shortly after Idol, Casey was signed onto Concord Records where he released his first self-titled debut album in 2012. "Get Out" is the lead single from said album. Unfortunately, the track did pretty much nothing. It grazed the AC and Hot AC airplay charts, but quickly faded away. His debut album peaked at #101 after her performed on an episode of the eleventh season of American Idol. He has since independently released an EP in early 2016 called Tales From the Gingerbread House. Cheyenne Kimball - The Day Has Come Cheyenne Kimball was a contestant on NBC's short lived series America's Most Talented Kid, where she won the first season at age 12 in 2003. She was soon signed to Epic Records where they helped her create her first album, The Day Has Come, which was released in July 2006. If you watched MTV at all in 2006, then you probably saw her show, Cheyenne, which aired over the summer of 2006, detailing the creation of her debut album. The album spawned four singles, but only the lead had any success. It was entitled "Hanging On," and it peaked at number 53 on the Hot 100 and 28 on Mediabase's CHR/Top 40 airplay chart. "The Day Has Come" is the title track from that album. After a few unsuccessful attempts at a solo career, she joined the country band Gloriana in 2008. The band had some decent success on the country charts, getting top 40 hits with "How Far Do You Wanna Go?" and "The World Is Ours Tonight" as well as a top 20 hit with "Wild at Heart." They even opened for Taylor Swift's Fearless Tour. In 2011, Cheyenne left Gloriana for reasons that still aren't known. Unfortunately for her, Gloriana's biggest hit, "(Kissed You) Good Night," came shortly after she left, which was a #2 hit on the country charts. Cheyenne has been out of the spotlight since then and recently had her first child just a few weeks ago! Christina Grimmie - Without Him Christina Grimmie was a notable YouTube sensation, gaining thousands of fans due to her covers. Thanks to her popularity and success from YouTube, she was able to create her first EP of original music in 2011 entitled Find Me, which was followed up in 2013 with an independently released album called With Love, peaking at numbers 35 and 101 on the Billboard 200 chart respectively. Thanks to the success of her independently released material, she scored a chance to be on the sixth season of The Voice in 2014. Christina did well, placing third. After her success there, she was signed to Island Records. She began working on her first LP under a major label and its lead single, "Must Be Love" was released in the summer of 2014. Due to lack of promotion and wide release, though, the song flopped, and Christina was dropped from her label before she could release the album. She went back to creating music independently, releasing several one off singles intended for an album that was never finished. In February 2016, she released part one of a two part EP series called Side A, which is where "Without Him" comes from. The EP even has a music video series entitled "The Ballad of Jessica Blue." On June 10, 2016, during a meet and greet following a performance in Orlando, Christina was shot by Kevin James Loibl, who then shot himself. Kevin died instantly. Christina was rushed to Orlando Regional Medical Center where she later died from her wounds that night. (And creepily enough, June 12 in Orlando was the Pulse Nightclub Shooting.) Several celebrities mourned the death of Christina, most notably her Voice coach, Adam Levine, and longtime friend and tour-mate, Selena Gomez. Tyler Ward, Before You Exit, and Tori Kelly also wrote songs in memory of Christina. Since the murder, Christina's family have released finished and unfinished material from Christina for her fans. Clinton Sparks - Stay with You Tonight (feat. Riff Raff) Clinton Sparks is quite an interesting guy. He started off his career by lying, actually! He pretended to have his own online radio show in order to appear more famous than he really was when he handed out his mixtapes and invited other rappers to come over to his "studio" (aka, his mom's basement) to do stuff for the "show." However, this stunt actually worked and he landed a job as a DJ for different hip-hop radio stations, including Eminem's Shade 45 station on Sirius. He released his first mixtape to retail stores in 2005, which scored him a feature with a major record label. In 2008, he was given the job as music correspondent and television personality for E!'s The Daily 10. Throughout all of this, he continued to create mixtapes and bootlegs, scoring features with large hip-hop personalities like Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes, Tyga, Ray J, Eminem, E-40, and many others. This lead to Clinton diving into writing and producing for other artists as well as himself. This list of artists he's worked with is pretty extensive and includes big names like Lady Gaga, Big Sean, Pitbull, Macklemore, T-Pain, Akon, Ludacris, and more. He has been laying pretty low as of recent, though. Fallbrooke - Losin' It Not on Spotify Fallbrooke is a pop/punk band from Florida. They are independent and have been unsigned throughout all of their career. The band consists of four members. They released their debut album in 2009, which is where this song comes from. Judging by the lack of any sort of information on the Internet about them and literally no other music that I can find outside of this debut album, I'm going to assume they disbanded. This track was the lead single off of their debut album. Hooray for lack of information!
