This is AMAZING! Every song was fantastic! I only buy albums of my favorites, and these guys might score a sale from me. Can't think of one bad song here.

Check Cashin' Country and Burn Out are the only 2 I'm not absolutely loving so far.
What an excellent album. This is country music. Can't wait to see these guys and Pardi on the same tour

What a fantastic album! This music reminds me so much of the 90's country I grew up listening to. My only complaint is that "Make A Little" was released as a single because it's probably my least favorite song on the album.

^My Walmart had 4 copies. Anyways this makes 4 stellar debut albums that have came out this year RaeLynn, Brett Young, Luke Combs and Midland and we still have debuts from Carly Pearce and Russell Dickerson coming! Hopefully I didn't forget someone!

Yes! Yes! Yes! This album is amazing. After they released two great songs I had high expectations and they still manage to surpass them. Their music is like a breath of fresh air (actually 80s and 90s air :) ) in country music scene that is filled with bro and pop country stuff. I don't remember the last time I listen new album 3 times in a row without skipping a single song. It usually takes years for me to like a new artist but Midland is so great that they got me with their first album. I like all 13 songs and I will have to listen to them a few more times to decide which are my absolute favourites and which are only good.

As expected a great album. I've been listening to this nonstop. I really think "out of sight" should have been second single. It's so good. And I agree that "make a little" might be my least favorite. But still miles better than 99% of the garbage at radio I'm really starting to see the tides turn with midland , Luke combs , Pardi , bros , brandy clark etc. here's to some really good upcoming albums (thought all in all 2017 has been a dull year for new albums)
Does anyone know any sales projections for this ? I'm positive it should be #1 Country. Nothing would make me happier if this sold more units than Dustin Lynch's new dumpster fire of an album (disgrace ). If this got 35k+ SPS it would be a huge accomplishment

Early HDD prediction says it can do 15-17k pure sales and 17-19k SPS in first week.

Curious to see if this can debut at #01 in the country albums chart. Thomas Rhett will be their biggest challenge and he has sold around 20k this week (an 80% drop fro his debut)... I wonder if he can maintain that same number (or sell more) this week as 3rd weeks tend to still see drops in sales for most acts.

OBSESSED with this album. Listened to it 4 times this weekend already. They were cut from the same cloth as Kacey Musgraves with their play on words and similar sound. Love love love these guys. There have been some damn good albums that've come out lately and this may be my favorite.

Like you, I was hoping for higher numbers. Better than the 7000 William Michael Morgan sold with Vinyl and that was aided by a #2 hit.

Yep, he'll definitely bi #01 for a second week, but I was talking about his 3rd week which will coincide with Midland's 1st week. Either way, their debut is still pretty good... hopefully it will sell well as new singles come out! (fingers crossed)

He even managed to get two album cuts to debut on the charts.

This is just an all-around great album. Lots of diverse influences are present and the result is a refreshing sound that can't be pinpointed to one particular era (it's probably more 90's than anything, but it's not anywhere near as 90's as William Michael Morgan's debut, for example). The only frustrating thing here is that they chose Make A Little as the second single, a fine song, but one that I fear will be polarizing and unlikely to repeat the success of Drinkin' Problem. This Old Heart would've made much more sense as the follow-up, or Out Of Sight if they insisted on it coming from a new track (not on the EP). My rankings are a bit fluid, but here's how they stack up for me:
1. Electric Rodeo 2. Nothing New Under The Neon 3. This Old Heart 4. Out Of Sight 5. Drinkin' Problem 6. More Than A Fever 7. Make A Little 8. Lonely For You Only 9. Check Cashin' Country 10. Burn Out 11. At Least You Cried (this song has a great melody, ruined by an intrusive and cluttered production - Dann Huff's doing I'm sure) 12. Somewhere On The Wind 13. Altitude Adjustment (the only really skippable track on the album)
Overall I'd give it 4.5 stars and say it edges out Luke Combs for my favorite of 2017.

This would have been a good album in 1997. Fast forward 20 years later and it's not just a good album...it's a GREAT one. I'm going to disagree with some and say that "Make A Little" is the perfect follow-up for "Drinkin' Problem". It's different enough from DP that it stands out, yet it keeps the band's signature sound throughout the song. It's a fun ditty that most should be singing along with after just a few listens.
I'll do my best to rank my favorites...of course, my opinion and a dollar will buy you a cup of coffee too. ;)
1. Drinkin' Problem 2. Make A Little 3. Electric Rodeo (this HAS to be a single at some point, right?!) 4. This Old Heart 5. Altitude Adjustment (I, admittedly, really like this one...but can't see it being a single) 6. Check Cashin' Country 7. Out Of Sight 8. Burn Out 9. Lonely For You Only 10. More Than A Fever 11. Somewhere On The Wind 12. Nothing New Under The Neon (I've tried liking this one, but can't really get into it) 13. At Least You Cried (this one is too Mavericks-ish for my personal taste)
For what it's worth, I was set on "This Old Heart" being the second or third single but...after multiple (10+) listens, I think "Electric Rodeo" is an absolute stand-out and would be a great follow-up to "Make A Little".

I listened to the album again, and it just gets better. These are my rankings of the tracks.
1. Lonely for You Only 2. Drinking Problem 3. Burn Out 4. At Least You Cried 5. Electric Rodeo 6. Make a Little (Sounds like a Dwight Yoakam song to me) 7. Altitude Adjustment 8. Check Cashin Country 9. Somewhere On the Wind 10. This Old Heart 11. Nothing New Under the Neon 12. More Than a Fever 13. Out of Sight

I'm actually surprised a bit to see a few put "Somewhere On The Wind" lower on their track rankings because I love it -- the melody and instrumentation are infectious. Then again, I'm hard pressed to find a skipable track on the record. I agree that "This Old Heart" should definitely be a single and I'm actually shocked it wasn't one of the first two singles. I think "Electric Rodeo" is a good single candidate as well.
The whole album has an 80s and 90's throwback feel but subtle tones of 2000s influence and the modern production. I think "This Old Heart" has those subtle early-to-mid 2000s influences. I don't like false information into this band's genesis and starting grounds but the music doesn't lie, these guys have immense talent and the fact radio is on-board makes me ecstatic.
This is probably my favorite album of the year thus far.

I already shared my thoughts in the "Make A Little" thread, but thought I'd give my favorites from the album: 1. Nothin' New Under the Neon 2. Burn Out 3. Out of Sight (this should've been a George Strait cut) 4. Electric Rodeo 5. This Old Heart 6. Drinkin' Problem 7. Altitude Adjustment 8. Make a Little 9. Somewhere in the Wind 10. At Least You Cried 11. Check Cashin' Country 12. Lonely for You Only 13. More Than a Fever Looking forward to seeing them in a couple of weeks.

Finally getting around to my track rankings.
1. Out of Sight (took a couple listens but the melody is great and those lyrics..."All the kings horses and all the kings men, couldn't put me and my baby back together again..."she's out of sight and I'm out of my mind.")
2. This Old Heart 3. Drinkin' Problem 4. Somewhere On The Wind 5. Make a Little 6. Electric Rodeo 7. Lonely Only For You 8. At Least You Cried 9. Altitude Adjustment 10. More Than A Fever 11. Nothin' New Under The Neon 12. Check Cashin' Country 13. Burn Out
