I wonder if the label bothered with a radio tour since this guy is with UMG Nashville?

This is awful.
That instrumentation/production is bro-country level bad. Melody is blah. Not a fan of his voice either.

Why would a bluegrass giant be pursuing a slick bro sound? This is probably the worst mismatch of vocal style and song style since the time Reba decided to cover "If I Were a Boy".
And of course, it's a song praising country lifestyles when sounding nothing like country.

I think they may have choses the wrong song for a single. As I'm listening to the album and it's definitely a blend of roots music and modern edm production elements but it works. This one works for me too but I can see why people would dislike it.

I think regardless of the song chosen from the album it was going to have similar reception from radio as there was ZERO buzz around this song and artist.

It's not different from Stapleton when he was first coming out with his project. Not that I expect that kind of reaction later on but (Dan) Tyminski's record is buzzed about in plenty of circles.

I guess, but I'm saying there was like no Buzz from a radio perspective, at least when Chris Stapleton started on radio he had some radio intrest. This guy, nothing. No radio tour, not a recognizable name too many people probably to country radio (since he is more associated with Bluegrass).

Radio stations know who Dan Tyminski and Union Station are. Today's Country radio listeners? Not so much.
I don't think Mercury Nashville is expecting this to do anything more than simply charting (maybe, doubtful), but he's a well respected name in this genre and among his peers, so this partnership isn't surprising.

The other song released today "Southern Gothic" is very unique and I'm loving it. Much better imo than this single.
