The 3rd international single off the ever so wonderful "The Emancipation of Mimi" released in 2005 It was a worldwide hit but unfortunately never saw single release in the US In some countries it was paired up with Shake It Off as a double single release IMO, this should've been a hit in the US as well and is one of album's top tracks This song also has my favorite music video of the era

I LOVE THIS SONG! It's my favorite single from The Emancipation Of Mimi. Ideally I would've loved if Mariah had sung this all herself and also sampled part of the synth solo off "Just An Illusion," which is my favorite part of that song; but the song is pretty awesome as it is.
I remember watching that video in 2005 and being in awe of how gorgeous and stylish she looked. I was obsessed with this and kept trying to catch it on TV! I just loved it and I still do. To this day it contains my all time favorite Mariah look, out of her entire videography: the yellow latex dress.
I was kinda mad she didn't replace that damn performed-to-death "Shake It Off" with this for the European dates from her tour last year. lol
edit: Oh and I love that bridge where she sings "la la la la la la". Even if she isn't singing any lyrics basically, the tone and quality of her voice sounds so gorgeous! 😊

Cute song but I always wished "Stay The Night" got a single release in any capacity.

I liked it more then than I do now, but I still enjoy it. It was a nice throwback to her 90’s uptempos.

I like that it sampled "Just An Illusion" which is my absolute 80s favorite.

I've always felt like Nelly or Trey Lorenz (who is credited for add'l vocals) should've done the hook. Nonetheless, it's still one of my faves.

If JD was going to sound like Nelly, why not just get Nelly? Plus, "Get Your Number" is a much better song than "To The Floor," which actually has Nelly on it.

This still goes OFF! So much better than SIO which Mariah seems to love for whatever reason.
This is straight fire, I love how you can tell exactly which parts Mariah wrote because they’re so good. So many hooks! And I love Mariah flexing💯🥵

This is one of my many favorites from the album. I really wish this has been a single in the U.S. It's just too good. The Imagination sample is so genius. It still sounds fresh today.

Mariah kills the verses, and this is a nice jam. I still wish Nelly did the hook instead of JD (even though JD sounds fine, it's just weird having him on it). It seems like a fan should be able to lay Mariah's vocal over the original or something.

I used to love this song. It was cool to hear her sing again in an upbeat record. I only give it a listen through the album now. E=MC² bops >>> I've always felt like Nelly or Trey Lorenz (who is credited for add'l vocals) should've done the hook. Nonetheless, it's still one of my faves. Agreed. If JD was going to sound like Nelly, why not just get Nelly? Plus, "Get Your Number" is a much better song than "To The Floor," which actually has Nelly on it. I found it weird too.

This was one of my favorites at the time from “The Emancipation Of Mimi”! This was a jam. The whole thing is pretty infectious. I love the sample and I agree with most people on this thread. JD sounds a lot like Nelly on this track. Maybe if Nelly was on it instead of JD it would have been a US single. Why was Nelly on the dud “The Floor” and not this….? I remember being so annoyed they released “Shake It Off and Say Something” over this. In my opinion this probably would have done better than “SS”. I would say “SIO” too, but I knew a decent amount of girls that were really into it. I loved “Get Your Number” so much I used it in a dance recital back then.
