I occasionally converse by email with a local radio station about ratings increases and sags over seasons and many times they tell me not to trust them, they have no basis etc etc, especially in comparison to other competitive stations in the area. So my 1st question is..1- Is this true or are they just covering up their deficiencies? Secondly this station is inferring with a 4.2 rating versus another's 3.0 that this equates to the later only having about 1/3 the listeners as the former..this seems way off base but perhaps my understanding of ARBYS is not skewed properly. So, 2) How many listeners is equated per ratings point? And if a station drops from a 4.8 to a 4.2 is this considered significant?
Thanks in advance.

How many listeners per rating point would have to differ based on market population.
