This (and maybe Engel) is actually their signature song in Germany. Hit #2 when it was released in 2001.

I feel like the last part of this hint should be a giveaway, but it isn't.
Three bottom fives this late...I think this has to be NIN. Unless it's shazam's guess and it's Soundgarden. Or perhaps neither? Who's to say?
(Boy, am I covering every angle or what?)

For a song supposedly made for deaf people, this is pretty enjoyable to listen to...

One off of a perfect ranking. Welp.
2 | 3 | 4 | 8 | 9
Did pretty well, all things considered. Would be fine with all five of these as potential winners.

In general, I've never been able to get into MJK's music as much as I would like to -- however I loved this song from the first moment I heard it. It just missed the cut for this rankdown, but it probably would have made it if this was a top 25.

Oh boy, this would've gotten tanked had I included it. I'm far from a big Disturbed fan, but they have put out some quality material, and this would've had a good shot of making the list had it not been on a couple recent rankdowns during my compiling of this list.
EXTRA:
Disturbed
Another Way to Die

#10. Slipknot - Vermillion Not the best Slipknot, but I do love his delivery in the verses. Plus Slipknot videos are gold.
#9. Marilyn Manson - The Beautiful People I agree that this isn't Manson's most melodic delivery, but it is fierce in the guitars, and do love this song. It is also my favorite among this list of songs
#8. Thrice - Hurricane I didn't put this on my top 10 for last year's Active, but it was a perfect fit on this list.
#7. Rammstein - Sonne And this kills off my top 5. None of this song's were very melodic, so I wasn't looking for melodic value as my #1 choice. Rammstein are also one of my favs from that era. Best Snow White story ever too.
#6. Queens of the Stone Age - A Song for the Deaf This didn't work for me. His vocal delivery was a tune out on this song.
EXTRA:
A Perfect Circle - Pet I don't recall this song. A bit mellow for me, but passable, I guess?
Disturbed - Another Way to Die Fierce ,Fierce ,Fierce. No way I tank Disturbed. This would have been in my top 5.

For obvious reasons, I hope "One Armed Scissor" wins.

What the fuck even Doc likes One Armed Scissor? He'll bash a Deftones song for being un-melodic but he likes One Armed fucking Scissor...
I'm so done.

At #5, we lose a fairy unpolarizing song. All but 2 people ranked it top 10, tieing it for the most top tens of any song on this rankdown -- however only three of those were top 5s. This constant stream of good but not great gives it the third lowest standard deviation on this rankdown.

Meanwhile at #4, one of the most decisive songs left, boosting the second highest standard deviation, gets out. We lose three(!) #1s, plus a number 2 and three more top tens -- however it's the two bottom 5s that killed this one.

Color me Red that NIN made it to the top three. I thought that song would be way more divisive.
I'm not complaining, just really surprised.

Full disclosure: this probably would've made my top 5 if I didn't bump it down a bit for not fitting the theme. Yeah I realized including this song was kind of a stretch and I regret including it for that reason (still a fantastic song tho!)

And with our #3 we swing back to the other extreme! This song has our second lowest deviation, due to the incredible feat of both having all but two rankings in the top 10, but having no bottom 5 rankings whatsoever, making it only one of two songs to achieve this! However, it misses the top two by virtue of having only three top 5s, the highest of which is a mere 3rd.

Well, it's obviously not "Cherry Waves". It has to be one of the other two songs, and I feel like NIN is going to have at least one bottom five...so this is FNM, which means one thing in particular for me...
