There are some really good, traditional country sounding songs on this album.
I like The Lonely, The Lonesome & The Gone, End Of The End Of The World, Mama Lost Her Smile, Talking Behind Your Back and Take The Devil Out Of Me upon first listen.

This album sounds weird, especially in first few songs. It's the type of bluesy songs that doesn't really suit her. Things are better in the middle with some solid country songs such as Bottom of a Barrel, with some better bluesy songs again in between. Then she becomes Ashley Monroe like when the album is almost finished, which showcases her top-of-the-notch vocal well. Great effort for her but I like Margo Price's album better.

I really like this album. Is it as good as The Way I'm Livin'? No. Not yet, at least. The album has some seriously bright moments where Lee Ann truly shines, though. "The Lonely, The Lonesome & The Gone," as well as "Mama Lost Her Smile" are the first few that come to mind. "Hollywood" sounds like something that could've fit on the last album.
My one issue with this album is the length of "All The Trouble" kills some momentum, right out of the gate. (At least for me). I'm listening to it now for the second time, so my opinions are likely to change the more I play it through. On a more positive note: It's just refreshing to see an artist make music that is fully them - music they believe in. I felt that on the last album, and this one as well. Lee Ann has nothing to prove. She has had a great career, and now she comfortably makes music that speaks to her. It's admirable.

Another reason to hate streaming: based on actual sales she's 68 on Billboard's top album sales chart. This is her first album excluding compilation not to chart on Billboard hot200
