Baron's #40 must be A Day in the Life am I right That was the song that I was hoping you had at #37, given how you put the other Beatles song bottom 10 last round. But it's not, and I was really banking on you to tank that song.

So this means my #40 made the Top 10. Unexpectedly. I thought there'd be more hate for this. AND your #37. And speaking of Green's #37...and his #40...and eight other songs...
THE TOP TEN How Deep Is Your Love Africa Don't You Want Me Destroy Everything You Touch Step Let It Happen Kashmir A Day in the Life Starlight Black
A questionnaire? From me? You don't say!
What song(s) are you surprised to see in the top ten?
What song(s) are you surprised to see miss the top ten?
Three songs remaining have very high standard deviations. What are they?
Two songs in the top ten have a very low standard deviation. What songs are they?
Care to predict the top ten?

surprised by Africa & Step making it this far. HDIYL is wildly overrated but I'm not surprised it's this high

I was hoping Carin at the Liquor Store, Born To Run and House of the Rising Sun would make it to top 10 because they are all good songs. I remember the first time I heard House of the Rising Sun and I liked it immediately. Then I googled the band and was really surprised by how old everyone is because I didn't expect that song is that old. Now for me this song is always walking in the line between great and unpleasant listen because the organ sounds creepy af and the way they start walking in the youtube video is also kind of scary.

Top 10 is a very nice surprise for me because I thought that my #1 and #2 would be eliminated very early like in bottom 10 and now they make it to top 10 What song(s) are you surprised to see in the top ten? my #1 and #2. Won't say which songs are they. What song(s) are you surprised to see miss the top ten? Tie Your Mother Down (I still can't believe this one was eliminated in bottom 10) and The House of Rising Sun Three songs remaining have very high standard deviations. What are they? Africa, Kashmir 10. Destroy Everything You Touch 9. Don't You Want Me 8.Kashmir 7. Step 6. Africa 5. A Day in the Life 4. How Deep Is Your Love 3. Let It Happen 2. Starlight 1. Black

I thought Born to Run would do much better :(
this rankdown has been possibly my worst ever, but at least my number 1 is still in!

My internet connection took a mean dump. Luckily I was able to save this page for when I reconnected. 20. Moody Blues - Knights In White SatinI know it's a classic, but this one never really worked for me. 19. Chromeo - Don't Turn The Lights OnI really dig Chromeo. Great to see them crack the top 20 here. 18. Nothing But Thieves - I'm Not Made by DesignThis is probably one of my least favorite songs next to the rap stuff. It has guitar action , but not exciting at all. 17. Tegan and Sara - U-TurnCould have been a bit higher. This is 80's style Synthpop perfection ,in my book. 16. Bruce Springsteen - Born To RunAnother classic. I really loved his songs off "Born In The U.S.A" album the most. 15. The National - Carin at The Liquor StoreI forget about this one. I'm probably one of the few pulse rocksters who doesn't really dig this band? 14. Iron Madien - Phantom Of The Operaok. Who the hell is afraid of Heavy Metal here? This is epic on all levels. Obviously some of you wanted to cut my journey short. I told you guys I was a Metal head back in the 80's. Now you believe me? I was surprised to see this song on the list, but since it was, it had to be my #1 song. 13. Joe Jackson - Steppin' OutNice memory here. I remember this was a big hit in 1982. 12. The Animals - House Of The Rising SunKind of surprised this didn't make the top 10? Also surprised who put it at the lowest rank. 11. Hall & Oates - Out Of TouchNot a bad slot for this song. One of their 80's best. This duo knew their pop music. The top 10 looks great.I have high hopes for my #2 song. *What song(s) are you surprised to see in the top ten? LOL! that at first glance I forget which one is "Step", and "Destroy Everything You Touch" *What song(s) are you surprised to see miss the top ten? My epic Heavy Metal #1 song for one. *Three songs remaining have very high standard deviations. What are they? some members are tanking classics here so I'm guessing those would be Beatles, Bee Gees, and Zeppelin? *Two songs in the top ten have a very low standard deviation. What songs are they? Can't see anyone having a problem with Muse nor Human League? Don't really wanna predict , but if you guys thought epic Heavy Metal was too rough for you, than Synthpop better win.

Alright, everyone...showtime. As I mentioned about an hour ago, #10 begins the first of two top ten ties. As with "Steppin' Out", it happily exceeded the expectations that I had for it...even if I'm the only bottom ten ranker for this song. Meanwhile, five people lose top tens, though there's only one top five loss...but it's a big one. That top five loss is a #1 loss, the first of many tonight.

by the end, everyone will have lost their #1 Yes...but there's a lot of them. Remember, all but three people have their #1 in the top ten. .indulgecountry , meanwhile...no longer has his #1 in the running, but it was quite the strong run for it...

#9 is the source of the biggest screwup in the entire rankdown. Before I went to make sure that the final rankings and point totals were correct, this song was #6. As it turns out, I was off on this song's point total by over twenty points. Yeesh. Either way, it's the source of the fourth-highest standard deviation in the rankdown. We see three bottom ten losses, with one of the losses clearing that poster's bottom ten. Meanwhile, five people lose top tens, with three of those rankings being top fives, and one of them being yet another #1 loss.

#8 is the last song not to reach the 300 point threshold. This was in just about every single top ten, a mainstay if there ever was one...but it never SERIOUSLY challenged for the top spot, mostly settling in the 6-10 range. One person loses a bottom ten here, while another five people lose top tens, with at least one person losing back to back top tens. Two of those five people lose top fives, and, in the case of one...yep, it's another #1 loss. And this one is going to hurt someone, for one particular reason...

THIS will be my last top 10, I gather.
Unless it's Barnsy's #1 exiting before his #40?

We cross the vaunted 300 point threshold with #7, and we're starting that threshold with a bang. You're about to see the song with the fifth-highest standard deviation be revealed, and it's...decidedly not what I was expecting. This is one of the few times tonight that we don't see a #1 loss, but there is another notable statistic for this song: SIX top tens get lost here, including three top fives. We also see three bottom tens, and those are noteworthy for another reason. Oh, and another of my "favorite five" is about to cross over into the ether...

I've said it two different times, but I think I've landed on that "Let It Happen" would have been my #1, lol.

Congratulations, .indulgecountry. You have lost your bottom ten with this latest reveal. Also, I just want to point you all to the three bottom tens for this song. Look at the rankings. I find that to be hilarious.

From one high standard deviation, we go to another, our last top ten high SD of the rankdown. Interestingly, despite its high SD, only two people ranked this song in their bottom ten. Another six people lose top tens, though, with ALL of their rankings being no lower than #6. We don't see a #1 loss, but we get mighty close. And this one is going to hurt some people dearly...
