After hearing "I'll Name The Dogs" and "I lived It" before the album release I got my hopes up that Blake was returning to actual country music and then was let down because the rest of the album sucks.

After hearing "I'll Name The Dogs" and "I lived It" before the album release I got my hopes up that Blake was returning to actual country music and then was let down because the rest of the album sucks. "I'll Name the Dogs" and "I Lived It" are definitely the best the album has to offer. The rest of it is at least countrier than some of his more recent stuff. But as a whole, If I'm Honest and Bringing Back the Sunshine are much better than this album. I'm pretty disappointed because "I'll Name the Dogs" has been my favorite song since it's been released, and part of that was because I thought it was implying a trend for Blake. Not so, unfortunately.

The album is better than If I'm Honest but not as good as Bringing Back the Sunshine IMO. A lot of If I'm Honest kind of blends together for me. Texoma Shore offers much more country instrumentation than If I'm Honest too. It has been mentioned several times in the country forum that Blake's songs have been boring lately, but that's certainly not the case on Texoma Shore. "I'll Name The Dogs", "At The House", and "Money" for example certainly have a lot of personality to them in the way he delivers some of the lyrics. I hear a lot of R&B influences on this album which is certainly new for Blake. "At The House" needs to be single #2 that is a smash waiting to happen.

Same bland sound, different album. I like I'll Name The Dogs, I Lived It, At The House, and I Got the T Shirt. Everything else is so boring.

This really just continues Blake's trend of mediocre albums and songs honestly. "I'll Name The Dogs" is pretty good, but besides that one, I'm hard pressed to name a song that I really enjoyed. "Money" and "Turnin' Me On" are decent I guess, and both would make for a good single choice, but neither blew me away by any means. I appreciate that the album has more of a country sound than his previous effort, but that's about all the nice things I can say about it.
Singles predictions:
1. I'll Name The Dogs 2. Turnin' Me On 3. Money 4. At The House

Haven't gotten around to listening to this album yet, but I'm not surprised at all by the "same ol', same ol'" comments that have been brought up in here so far... I knew everyone was probably jumping the gun when they heard "I'll Name the Dogs" and saw the album cover/titles thinking that the old Blake Shelton was suddenly back.

Texoma Shore is on track to sell less than 60k in the first week, that’s ~ 67% decrease from If I’m Honest. Ouch!

Wow. He's looking at only beating Kelsea Ballerini by about 10k in his opening week, lmao.

Would really like to see the singles go 1. I’ll Name the Dogs 2. Turnin’ Me On 3. Money (I’d prefer At the House or Got the T-Shirt but I think this is a definite single) 4. I Lived It (which is a really good song I overlooked at first).

After listening to this album a few times I must say that I'm a little disappointed. I got my hopes up when I’ll Name The Dogs was released and I like that song a lot so I hoped that the whole album would go in direction lead singel was implying. I still don't think this album is bad. I think it is on the similar level or maybe a little worse than If I'm honest. I have a soft spot for Blake Shelton and because he was one of the first country singers I've really liked so maybe I'm a little (a lot) lenient when it comes to his music.
Great Songs - Songs that I like I’ll Name The Dogs Got The T-Shirt I Lived I Hangover Due The Wave When The Wine Wears Off
Alright Songs - songs that I don't mind listening to again) At The House Beside You Babe Why Me
Songs I don't like Money Turnin’ Me On
