She 'only' sold 80k yesterday. Of course, this doesn't include streaming and single sales, both of which will be relatively minimal, for SPS total. She sold +125k yesterday. Ha. You're right. I saw it as 1.005, not 1.050! So on 4th day of release she sells more full albums that most of the weekly #1 SPS in 2017. |

Congrats to Taylor on the success of this album.
Most were saying that the little promotion this era would hurt the album first week and they were wrong. It was a different rollout and Taylor had the right marketing with the magazines to get this album sold to us Swift fans, Some fans are buying 2 or 3 copies of the album first week.

No way Adele is releasing an album soon. Reputation has a very strong chance to get the 2018 #1, but then again, something could surprise (or it could crash down hard enough for some other act to surpass it. Not sure if JT can do it (he lost a lot of momentum with 20/20 part II), but there's always a chance something unexpected like "Frozen" or "Susan Boyle" happens.

No way Adele is releasing an album soon. The sequel was mishandled but successful anyway and did little to no damage to his brand. Can't Stop the Feeling! is among the 20 biggest hits of the century, it was the biggest hit of 2016, and the Trolls soundtrack sold only 100k less than Divide which was the biggest album of the year prior to this week. |
