Playing catchup! 25. Día de enero (28): this is a very cute song that reminded me of her 90s music --but I prefer the 90s songs of course :) 24. Can't remember to forget you (17): I do like this one, as it's another fusion song that mixes rock and Latin sounds, and the Rih feature works. Wish it had been a bigger hit... 23. Rabiosa (42): this can be fun and all, but just so below what Shakira can do. And can't compare this to much more interesting and better written songs that she has in her catalogue. (Plus the Ratatas annoy me so much lol, and the music is just generic Latin). 22. Te dejo Madrid (29): I like the beginning, verses and prechorus much more than the chorus (which goes too much into generic territory). 23. No (36): This was such a huge disappointment to me. Cerati is one of my favorite Latin artists ever, but this one didn't work to me. The chorus' melody or lackthereof is what bugs me the most. 20. Gypsy (49): Finally!!!! Yup, I'm sorry but this is of her most boring, bland, meh singles she's released, plus lyrics. Appalled at it ending in the top 20 instead of much more interesting songs in her catalogue. 19. Pies descalzos, sueños blancos (12): happy it made the top 20, but sad that only one song of her PD album is left. This was her first full rock song and the second one that drew comparisons with Alanis. Love everything about it, but especially the lyrics and her attitude. Great third single especially after the poppier DEC, showing a lot of versatility. Also interesting to remember her image at that time and how she was very down to earth in her interviews and sort of dismissing the bimbo images of other Latin female artists (which would lead to the huge shock her fans had with her image when Suerte was released years later)

18. No Creo (10): I've liked this since first time I heard it as the 4th DELL single. It's true that some of her vocal inflections are a bit rough and a bit of the production is closer to Donde Estas Corazon than to other DELL singles (so I get its #18 ranking), but the disco-pop-salsa fusion and even the quirk lyrics and attitude were refreshing anyway. Plus, my appreciation of the single increased with her unplugged version, which managed to also become a hit back home, and reached the top of my personal chart once again with this version (and made it reach my top 10 in this RD) 17. Loca (25): This is the only tropical hit off Sale El Sol that I use, primarily as a guilty pleasure, as it sort of goes beyond the typical merengue type of song, the lyrics are not stupid (lol, sorry but I still think of Me Enamore ). This shouldn't have been in the top 20 though. 16. Waka Waka (8): This should've been higher! One of her most catchy and fun hits of the past decade, which also should've been a bigger hit in the US (and would've been had streaming been counted for the Hot 100!). I've really liked this song since I first heard it. On the one hand, it was another good fusion of dance pop and African sounds. On the other hand, I loved her smart decision of using an African song that was already familiar to lots of Latinos and brought lots of nostalgia to me--this was the basis of "El Negro No Puede", a hit by Las Chicas del Can from their super popular late 1980s album Caribe:

Welp, my #1 stayed in a lot longer than I ever expected it too, so I'll take it. I thought it would've died in the 20s. The song that made me a stan. Love everything about this and her vocals on this are incredible. I live for her raspiness in her delivery of this song so much and her big wails at the end give me LIFE. <3
