Finally! I donāt get all the love for āChoctaw County Fair.ā Obviously an unpopular opinion on Pulse, but IMO the song is just a complete pass for me.

Final extra song... EXTRA ~ "Follow Your Arrow" by Kacey MusgravesDid everyone really think I'd do this entire thing without mentioning Kacey Musgraves. Now there are many other Female Country singers I could have mentioned but I'm ending here with the extras. This song deserved to be in this list over many others that were included, and Kacey definitely should have been included as well (cannot wait for her next album). I didn't include her because lets be real had this song or "Merry Go Round" had been included she would have been #1. To keep things from being completely obvious and predictable I didn't include her but I do love her music okay #3 is the final song to have NO #1 rankings at all, but spent 6 submissions at #1. Which song knocked Reba out of #1? At this point if Sara doesn't win I will be shooketh. I NEVER thought Mary or Patty would come this close to the top...

Well, based on Castle's hint about #3 being the last song with no #1 votes, I can personally guarantee that Sara will at least make the top 2

I don't own and have never listened to the album it's on, that's why I'm SO upset it was never a single because first of all, um, can you say MOST OBVIOUS CHOICE FOR A SINGLE EVER and secondly, I would have had this song in my life so much earlier HAD I KNOWN IT EXISTED.

"He Thinks He'll Keep Her" was an excellent discovery here! I don't think it should have been anywhere close to knocking Reba out of the #1 and then #3 positions, but I definitely am glad that I have this song in my life now!

This is one that gets better over time. I'm surprised you hadn't heard it....to me, it's one of the biggest/most iconic country songs of the 1990s.

I don't know a lot of Mary Chapin Carpenter's music, but her voice does little to interest me. There's nothing wrong with her or the handful of songs I have heard on the radio, but I evidently don't see the appeal everyone else seems to. She'd be low on my list of 90s female icons.

#2 ~ "You Don't Even Know Who I Am" by Patty Loveless#1 ~ "Saints and Angels" by Sara Evansyes my 36 ended up winning BARELY against my #1! That being said I love both songs and am truly happy to see these two be the Top 2! Always felt that "Saints and Angels" was way underrated. I remember watching it on the charts when it first came out and being mad that it wasn't a bigger hit. That being said, "You Don't Even Know Who I Am" is in all honesty in my Top 5 favorite songs of all time, all genres. There is something about that song that I absolutely love, and it has never gotten old for me. Patty sounds incredible and she puts in so much emotion that you can feel the anguish she is feeling in the lyrics. It is incredible. No other song on this entire rankdown compares to this song imo and I'm so mad it BARELY lost out to Sara Evans lol. Thank you everyone very much for taking part in this rankdown, this was a lot of fun to do! bahaha yes!
"Saints & Angels" is fantastic. Has always been one of my favorites from Sara. The melody in the chorus is iconic. I'm totally fine with this winning!

She wrote many incredible songs. I'm so happy she did as well as she did.

Two incredible songs in the final two, but the right song won in the end, thankfully! Always great to see Sara Evans come out on top! Thanks d3vin44 for clinching her the victory.

I'm not a big fan of Mary Chapin Carpenter. She has a few songs that are fine, like the one in this rankdown, but I also don't find her voice to be particularly good, and I absolutely DETEST that "Down At The Twist and Shout" song.

OMG! The fact that d3vin44 was able to rank Patty at #6 and STILL knock her down a position proves how unbelievably close this finish truly was. castleoblivion26, I commend you for not switching Sara to #40 at the last minute to try to salvage a #1 finish for Patty! I can't say I wouldn't have tried something like that if it came down to my #1 versus one of my bottom 5s Thank you for hosting, this was an AWESOME group of songs, with a lot of great new discoveries!! I am mostly thrilled with how the results played out!

Her lyrics are definitely her strongest suit. Songs like this:
are why she'll always have a place in country music history, imo.

Iām sorry Castle! At least I gave some respect to your #1 ranking her at #6. I tell you what Saints and Angels is probably not in my top half of Sara songs, so she BARELY nabbed the top spot for me. ;) However I was around on www.sara-online.net back in the day when she referred to us as her āSaints and Angelsā, so it holds some sentiment. This was such a fun rankdown! I kinda want you to do another one with all the ones you posted who didnāt make it! Lol
