Anybody remember that scene from Superhero Movie where Drake Bell broke up with his girlfriend and afterwards, everybody around him was having sex, set to this song (not this version, but still)?

Anybody remember that scene from Superhero Movie where Drake Bell broke up with his girlfriend and afterwards, everybody around him was having sex, set to this song (not this version, but still)? Never watched Superhero Movie but "All By Myself" (again, not this version) always reminds of a different movie: Bridget Jones' Diary

I'm sure those bottom ranks had nothing to do with the sole fact that it's by R. Kelly. Not mine at least. It's a fucking dreadful song that goes on for way to fucking long. Also, I really really don't like Smashmouth. How either of these songs made the top 50 over some of the ones that didn't. So much respect...gone. :sip2:

Monica deserved way better. That was one of my favorite songs in 1997, super disappointed it is already out. Not sure why but I didn't think it would be the first of my Top 10 to be eliminated

Doing some catch-up now! Commenting on the songs from 75-55 that left too early for me: 75. Butterfly Kisses (40): This was a personal chart-topper back in the day. I really liked it when I heard it smashing in Casey's Countdown. I felt it was a very tender, sweet song. I hadn't listened to it in several years and yes it now feels much cheesier, but I still like it more than most of the HipHop/R&Bish songs in this RD... 74. Hard to Say I'm Sorry (47): Oh well, the original is one of my 80s favorites, and I liked this new vocal group version, plus Peter being featured was a big plus. 71. When You Love a Woman (22): Just as with the other RD where this one participated, I'm surprised at the hate. A typical power ballad of the 80s that felt so good to hear in the 1990s. Steve Perry's voice just as strong as in the 80s. Another personal chart-topper. 68. Secret Garden (24): Oh, men, another classic sounding song with an 80s heart that leaves too soon! The last song of the boss that I cared about. Pretty good, smooth, daydreamy. Love the 80s inspired sax as well. Sad to see another song in my 20s leave this soon 62. All Cried Out (48): Speaking of 80s lol I had forgotten about this cover, but it was a strong r&b cover with an exquisite vocal arrangement --echo the comment about how Babyface's yawnfest can be above this? (or if we're speaking of covers, how come Don't Cry For Me Argentina has survived all the songs I've mentioned... I mean, I'm a Madonna stan, but DCFMA is faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar from her best, and even though the remix is fun, it's almost like a tragic parody made just to make the song bearable )) 61. How Bizarre (25): Oh, wow! Far too many surprises in this region of the RD!! HB was a big hit back home (even though we were paying less and less attention to anglo music at that time) and I've always been a fan of this quirky vibe and overall the modern rock / alternative style of these years. 57. The Difference (31): Speaking of modern rock, I really liked this, especially the chorus and its infectious drums. Quite a good trifecta of hits this band had.

53. The Freshman (16): AND this one was one of the best MR ballads of the late 1990s, either rock or acoustic version, the power and emotion of the vocals, the use of strings, etc. Geez! How come this is so low?!! 51. Crash Into Me (27): It took me a couple of years to get it, but then I fell in love with this one as a song that really defines DMB. I see it as a modern symphony that is a unique piece of soft rock art --but that's why I also sort of get why it's outside the top 50... 50. A Long December (29): Another strong rock ballad of a band that I really dug since Mr. Jones. 49. The Impression That I Get (34): This brings A LOT of memories, and thus has always had a soft spot. I love the ska rock combo here. (What's going on with the Alt purge?!!) 48. MMMBop (21): It may be a guilty pleasure, but this was a favorite since I heard it in the 1990s and despite some overplay I've always had a soft spot it. Catchy, earworm, melodic, plus the kids played their instruments. Should've been higher for sure ( Why is one of the most meh Backstreet Boys songs still here?!) 47. Men In Black (26): Quite interesting that in the same period, two songs sampled Forget Me Nots!! Didn't mind it, though, both songs were pretty good, including this one. Fun, dancey, catchy. Still have use for it :) 46. Counting Blue Cars (30): ARGH?! Another good alt song here. I especially love the chorus. 44. Walkin' On The Sun (13): Quite popular song in our pop and rock radios back home, and a personal chart topper as most of the songs in this post

Why the hell did the other Celine Dion song beat this? My problem is that I really liked Eric Carmen's 1970s version. I was expecting a gorgeous song by Celine, and I was VERY disappointed at her approach. The choruses are a bit too shouty / angry for me, and then the whole screamfest after the pause is unbearable to me. I literally wanted/want to shut her up. Awful. On the contrary, IACBTMN has one of her best vocal performances IMO.

Missed a perfect ranking by one position twice! 🖕🖕
Not too hurt by any of the losses yet but I will say that Dishwalla and Hanson deserved better from y’all!

I actually feel like this isn't one of my top 10. My #2 wouldn't have this many bottom-ten ranks, I think, and my #6 and #4 aren't going out quite yet, I think. The rest, obviously won't leave anytime soon, lol.

YES! It took long enough. His song was bottom ten in the 1998 rankdown, no?

I don't think this is bad, just nothing too impressive, for me. Maybe I underranked it.

The song with the 4th highest Standard Deviation is next! This one had six top 10 rankings... including a #1, to go along with four rankings in the bottom 10.

It hurt me having to put LeAnn outside Top20 cause I love her, but How Do I Live is not not really one of my favorites... I wish It could've made top30 though
