163. 05 Little India - Backseat (38)* 49-46-42-42-38-Here is a cool New Wave band I also discovered on Soundcloud. I also been listening to their E.P. on a regular basis, and recently entered this song on the Rock tournaments we will start playing shortly. This is so my fellow members can can hear what a great sound they have too. Anyway, they have a sound very similar to DREAMCAR; which to me was a GODSEND this year,so with just 5 short weeks and already in my top 40, this one is sure to set fire to my 2018 weekly charts.Peak: 38Wks: 5

162. 07 Lorde - Green Light (The Chromeo Remix) (41) 50-47-45-44-45-43-41-offHere is the one, Lorde song ,that did manage to break into my top 50 this year. Only it's not the original song. It's a crafty remix from Indiepop band; Chromeo. I think it gives the song a better vibe, and is perfect to dance to. The voicbox they add to the song, hits that Indiepop groove perfect, and you still get Lorde's awesome vocals. For me; the best of both worlds.Peak: 41Wks: 7

161. 05 Bleeker - Where's Your Money (36) 49-45-43-39-36-offThis is the first song from this indie rock band, whose song's create a cool Garage rock vibe, that you will run into on my year end list for 2017. The version I charted was the original album version, not that Alternative remix, that I still think, was the reason the song did so poorly on actual charts? Anyway, this song started off strong on my own weekly chart, but minimal play made me forget about it soon after. The original sleeve art I made for the song, was me trying to get an image from my head on paper. It's easier said than done. Peak: 36Wks: 5

160. 08 Palaye Royal - Get Higher (43) 47-43-44-48-45-43-45-45-off My last post for tonight comes from the Glam Rock band ; Palaye Royal. They have a sound similar to The Struts. This particular song managed to become a minor radio hit on Active. I really dig the song, but I think I just waited too long to start charting it? On a different note; I have recently been getting into "Doctor Man" ; which I think is even better, so don't count out the band just yet? I might bring em back in 2018?Peak: 43Wks: 8

The Taron Egerton & Hugh Jackman song is intriguing... I need to go listen to it.
Nice to see "Green Light" here! I prefer the original over the Chromeo remix, but the song itself is strong that both versions are pretty great!

picking up where I left off. In this next group of songs we will run into some Alt Fvaorites, K-Pop, a few 80's icons, and one of my favorite Alternative rock bands of the 90's debuting a brand new lead vocalist. let's get into the action with number 159. 159. 08 Sundara Karma - She Said (43)49-44-47-43-44-46-43-47-offNext is a band; that I was charting a few years before Alt even gave them a chance. They still have to get a decent hot on that chart, but you may remember them on my chart, with the big hit, "Flame". This year they returned to my chart, with another uptempo Indierock number called "She Said"Peak: 43Wks: 8

158. 08 DramatiX - Rat Race (2 weeks #43) 50-48-47-46-45-43-43-46-offYou will usually run into a lot of 80's New Wave vibed songs on my chart and this one is no exception. With that unmistakenable sound of 80's icons , Devo, this band managed to conquer my 80's heart with this "bopper"Peak: 43Wks: 8

157. 07 9MUSES - Love City (K-Pop) (39)* 50-48-46-44-41-40-39-Next up is the first appearance by a K-Pop song on my list. K-POp is something I have become very interested in the last few years. The melodies, The big Instruments, harmonious vocals and great colorful Music videos. One interesting factor about a K-pop song is, that the rapping part is very melodic and usually adds a little something special to the song. Think of George Michael rapping on early Wham material. It's all too 80's to ignore. This song is fairly new to my top 50, so it is still climbing to it's peak, so it will return in 2018. The top image is the original sleeve art for the single, and the second one is my original. I like my fan made sleeves to feature something about the music video too. Peak: 39Wks: 7

156. 09 AFI - Aurelia (41) 50-47-46-44-42-41-43-41-41-off The next song comes off one of my favorite albums of the year, from one of my favorite combacks of 2017. Never mind the actual Alternative scene, this is some of Davey Havok's best material in years. This song went up and down my chart untill it finally found a home at the #41 slot where it spent 3 non consecutive weeks before dropping off for new Davey Havok material; which we will run into later on. 155. 06 Myzica - We Belong Together (3 weeks #41) 49-46-43-41-41-41-offMyzica is a great synthpop band I discovered on Soundcloud. This song spent many weeks on my HOT LIST before finally cracking the top 50. This song also comes in a time ,where I'm really into Active rock sound, so it just missed cracking in the top 40. The band has really great vocals and they also do a rather great cover of the Cars' "Drive". her vocals really fit the atmosphere of the song. I might chart that one in 2018?Peak: 41Wks: 6

154. 11 Blaqk Audio - First To Love (3 weeks #44) 50-48-45-45-44-47-45-44-44-46-48-offRemeber I mentioned Davey Havok , a few songs back? Well here is another songs with his amazing vocals in mind. This song actually came out in 2016, but I was so much into a ,Davey Havok, high this year, that I decided to bring this one on for the ride. The New Wave vibe of this song is so strong, that I couldn't help but to give it a nice 11 week chart life on my top 50. The sleeve art is an original of mine I created by using images from the cds inside sleeve art. The music video is great and features the same colors DREAMCAR uses in "Kill For Candy". That's a song we will run into, much, much, much, much, much, later on the list.Peak: 44Wks: 11

"TV Head" sounds exactly, like the 80's, novalty, music you would hear on KROQ, back when KROQ was cool. 152. 02 Franz Ferdinand - Always Ascending(29)* 39-29-We are up to one of the newest songs on my weekly top 50. The reason it comes in so much higher than other songs, is simply because It's one of my fastest rising songs of the momnet. From one week on The HOT LIST, to a #39 debut and it's already in the top 30. I also have a rant about the actual Alternative charts. Here they have what is possibly the best song on their entire chart and they are letting it slip away from their fingers. This song has already hit #1 on many of my fellow members' personal charts, and soon to be on mine as well. Anyway. the song just go there MV, and it's for the original Lp version, which is the one that has grown on me more than the single edit. Do I have to add, that we will see much more of Franz in my 2018 charts to come. Peak: 2 9Wks: 2

151. 09 Jet + The Bloody Beetroots - My Name Is Thunder (2 weeks #41) 50-48-46-47-44-41-41-46-50-offI have to admit, that I remember this band sounding so much fiercer back in the day. "Cold Hard Bitch" "She's A Genius", "Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is". These are just a few that blew my mind. Anyway "My name Is Thunder" still carries that AC/DC vibe, but it is also needlessly noizy. To top it off they decided to release an "Elektronik Noize" version featuring The Bloody Beetroots that I didn't care for at all. I'm also embedding the Jet + Bloody Beetroots version of the song, which is the Electric Guitar version of the song. In the end, I have always loved Nic's vocals, so i couldn't help giving the song some chart action. Kind of the same way I gave "Handclap" some chart action because of Fitz vocals.Peak: 41Wks: 9

150. 03 Hinder - Making It Hard (27)* 46-36-27-We are up to one of my favorite bands of the early 2000's. Part of the reason was Austin Winkler's vocals , but also for the vibe of their songs. "Meodic Party Rock" as they have so aptly been baptize by one of our prime members on pulse. I so much prefer that to Post anything. That being said, Austin has left the band and aside from a few songs like this one; their vibe sounds different. This song however fits right into an LP like "Take It To The Limit" which was Hinder;s best take on 80's "Hair Metal". This song is curently kicking ass on my weekly top 50, and this could be on of the last songs I chart from this band, so you can be sure I'm gonna milk it (no pun intended) for all its worth in 2018. Do I have to add, that the Sleeve art is an original from yours truly? Sleeve art should fit the song's vibe.Peak: 27Wks: 3

149. 07 Nothing But Thieves - Amsterdam (2 weeks #39) 49-46-44-40-39-39-44-offNothing But Thieves was one of the hottest acts on the Alternative and Active rock charts in 2016, and we are to a song that I believe will be one of Pulse Forum's overall favorite songs of the year? What this song has an incredible chorus, that was bound to make some waves on my chart. The most unbelievable part about this song, is that it was never released as an actual single? I think , if it had been, it would have at least became a smash on Active. Peak: 39Wks: 7

148. 10 Foster The People - Sit Next to Me (40)* 50-49-46-44-42-40-45-48-44-43-41- We are up a rather special song on my year end list. Not because it's from Foster The People; which is already a great sign, but because it's had a rather peculiar chart run. Notice how week after week it went up and down? I was actually ready to send it to recurrent heaven, when I suddenly started getting into it "kickback" indie synth vibe. It seems not only me, but the actual Alternative chart has warmed up to it as well? It's right outside the top 10 as we speak. It still has a ways to go on my chart, but it will surely start an upward climb come 2018. I'm not posting the song's official video, cuz I, simply, don't like it. I am embedding the first one they released with the red lights and flashing effects. It reminds me of my trip to The Red Light District when I was touring Europe. Peak: 40Wks: 10

I'm always one of the first fans out there when I hear Rick Springfield has released new material. I must have charted dozens of his songs in the 80's. Rick has always had his own brand of Powerpop and is actually a huge fan of The Cars and Cheap Trick. last year he released, "ROCKET SCIENCE" on one of my favorite record labels; Frontiers Music. The vibe of the album was a bit Country rock, but this one here had that good old poprock vibe Rick is known for. Peak: 39Wks: 10

This is actually the second single I'm charting by the latina Rock goddess. With anew Record contract with powerhouse label Eleven Seven, she is ready to set the venues on fire in 2018. Her style derives from 80's hard rock but also had ingredients from today's rock sound. her vocals remind me a bit of Joan Jett tones. 145. 04 Paramore - Fake Happy (28)* 39-34-30-28-If you love Paramore, than stick around for a major comeback surprise from them. For now, we are up to the third track I'm charting from "After Laughter". I got into this one a little later on , when it's actual chart life on Alternative was coming to an end. I also sacrificed "told You So" a bit early, to bring this one on board, so I'm keeping it on for a while longer. At just four short weeks, it's already one of my top 30 songs of the week. We also get a Music video with a bunch of upside down smiles and Haley walking away from us throughout the song. I'm not one to complain, but I do wish we got to see more of her face. The original fan art was me trying out something with the song's title.Peak: 28Wks: 4

144. 04 Stone Temple Pilots - Meadow (26)* 45-38-33-26- We are up to what is arguably my favorite part about Alternative rock in the 90's. We had Green day, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters, than you had Stone Temple Pilots; who at first sounded like a grunge band, but soon after added Glam rock and Psychedelic vibes to their songs. This is why STP became my favorite band of the 90's. The best part of the band was always Scott Weiland's vocals, and it seems the remaining band memebers have done their best to bring that vocal vibe back to the band's sound with new vocalist; Jeff Gut. Not only that , but we got this spanking brand new rock song that is currently making waves on Active rock chart and on my chart as well. Four short weeks, and it's already top 30. That is a sign of a future monster song on my chart.Peak: 26Wks: 4

Let's back into this. Too drunk to do anything else. At #143 is a band who has had huge success on my charts. Ever since their first song I charted, "The Only Difference Between Martyrdom and Suicide Is Press Coverage". That one went top 10 on my charts and it's been #1 after #1 for them ever since. This year they released, the fourth single and title track from their latest album and here thye are again, scoring another big hot on my year end list. 143. 10 Panic! Not one, but four songs in total make this list. two of those, including this one, are brand new to my charts, so they will surely be returning for some 2018 chart action. This song right here, is all about that 80's vibe. Think Adam and The Ants or Bow Wow Wow. Add Davey's vocals and you got a perfect song for my chart. Here is another song, that begs the question? I loved this song because it had more of a Guitar vibe than most K-Pop does. This one was considered more of "Dark Pop". The band also use gothic images and vibes in the music video.
