106. 12 San Pasqualito Rey feat. Mon Laferte - Nunca Jamas (24 for 2 weeks) 50-46-43-40-36-34-30-28-26-24-24-27-offThis is a song from a soundtrack from a Mexican hit movie called "Las Aparacio". It's actually a great ghost story. This song is great with a sort of traditional rock sound. Mon Laferte shares the vocals with the band and they really sound perfect together. . The lyrics are great too.Peak: 24Wks: 12

105. 19 Warpaint - New Song (26) (2017) 26-27-30-off This California based indie Dreapop band, has the kind of female vocals that I really love. This song almost stuck around for the full 20 weeks, yet peaked at #26. I recall sending it recurrent right around the time if fell off the Alternative charts too? Great song that ends up right outside my top 100 hits of the year.Peak: 26Wks: 19

104. 08 MGMT - Little Dark Age (20)* 49-43-34-32-28-23-22-20-My next three songs are new songs that are getting their start on my weekly top 50. The first of these ,is from an Indiepop band that I have only charted once before with the song "Kids". That song had a moderate chart run back in 2008, but this new song will definitely be their biggest song on my charts. It's screams of 80's New Wave. Not only the musical composition, but the vocal arrangements as well. At just eight short weeks; its already in the top 20. This is surely one, for you to keep your eye on.Peak: 20Wks: 8

103. 08 Royal Blood - I Only Lie When I Love You (18)* 47-40-36-34-32-29-24-18-Next we got the Popular Alternative Rock band; Royal Blood. They score, not one , but two songs on my year end chart. We will run into "Lights Out" in the Top 100, but now we are up to my favorite track off "How Did We Become So Dark". It rocks proper like all their previous singles, but I especially love this one for the use of "cowbell". It's basically; a take no prisoners ,rocker, that gets you right from the intro. Its Allready a #1 song on the Active chart, and looking to be big on my top 50 as well?Peak: 18Wks: 8

102. 09 NEON LIGHTS - 1000 (16)* 47-42-39-31-29-24-21-20-16-Next is an Indie Synthpop song from 2012 that I only discovered this year. I have not been able to find out much about the band, except that they might be European?. What I do know, Is that I feel for it's heavy 80's synthpop sound the first time I heard it, and it's been climbing my chart ever since. This song will be a force to reckon with , on my top 50, come 2018. The music video is very contradictory too. Here we have the band preforming this cool upbeat song, and the audience seems to be bored. Either way the classic two man band lineup reminds me of Pet Shop Boys, Naked Eyes, Sparks and Soft Cell, among others. The sleeve art is the newest one I created for the song.Peak: 16Wks: 9

101. 12 Trip To Dover - Boy (2 weeks #22) 49-46-43-40-38-34-30-27-25-22-22-28-offand just missing the top 100 by a hair is synthpop music from the Netherlands. So many great bands go by unnoticed in the music industry. I would guess that more than 50% of my chart consists of this untapped indie bands. Even the Metal bands I chart are usually untapped European bands. This is why I stick with the name ,Dr. Indie. Trip To Dover reffer to their music as Indie Alternative Electro Rock, but it sounds like good old synthpop to me. "Boy" was the first song I ever charted by this band, but as the new year rolls in, I'll be on the look out to see what elese they have to offer.Peak: 22Wks: 12

We finally hit the 100 mark, but before we break into those, here are a few favorites that are just about to make my HOT LIST. These are newer than new to my playlist, but are picking up fast. 4 different songs. All from different backrounds.
Let's start off with the second single off, Rise Against's new album. I always end up skipping the first single and charting the second. I did this also with "The Black Market" album. Skipped "I Don't Want To Be Here Anymore" and jumped on "Tragedy + Time". nyway , first on the list this week is "House On Fire"
Next is another Rock song, but this one carries the 80's Sleeze Rock style of Motley Crue and Poison. It's from the band; Pretty Boy Floyd and their new album on Frontiers Music label. I love ,quite a few songs on this record, but I'm going to quickly get the excitement started with "We Got The Power". The sound is perfect for my chart. Big Guitars, Big vocals, and the has of the same lineup as they did 20 years ago. Steve "Sex" Summers, sounds spectacular. His vocals were almost a carbon copy of Vince Neil's, but it sounds as if Steve has conserved his better.
My next song is a really cool Indierock song from Moving Units. We ran into them ,way back at the begining of this list with "House of Dolls", but now that I finally got a chance to listen to their entire album; I've got my ear on a few more songs. I'm still choosing between "Hyatt Girls" and "American Infantile", but I think I'm choosing this one? It sounds a lot like Duran Duran 1981. Just listen to that bass and listen to what I mean?
Song #4 is yet another track off Phoenix latest album. I dare say "Goodbye Soleil" could be one could be my favorite yet, because I've been spinning this one nonstop. It has the same kind of captivating Lyrical content of "Ti Amo", and being a fan of foreign lyrics, I'm totally in love with the French, sung, chorus.

It's time for the Top 100 of 2017. for me #100 is just as important as #1. #100 anchors the other 99 songs in place. Without #100, the rest of the songs would just fall out of place. Now who better to anchor the songs than an accomplished and wise, 80's icon? 100. 13 Blondie - Fun (3 weeks #22) 50-39-36-35-39-37-34-29-25-22-22-22-28-offWith a comeback album, and sounding better than ever; Blondie starts of the action at #100 with her hit, "Fun". This one has all the ingredients one of her 80's classics would have, including the black n white look of the music video.

99. 18 The 1975 - A Change Of Heart (24) 50-47-46-43-40-37-36-34-32-29-28-26-29-28-25-24-27-31-offThe 1975 is a band that has has huge success on my charts. From "Chocolate" to "Love Me", they are never far from my charts. This year, the success of their last album continued with two more great singles. This song brought back that synthpop vibe of the 80's so masterfully, that I kept it on my top 50 for 18 big weeks. I think the actual Alt chart, dropped the ball with this one, but then again, that seemed to be, what Alt was best at, all year round. Undercharting the better songs.Peak: 24Wks: 18

98. 15 The New Pornographers - High Ticket Attractions (2 weeks #24) 49-42-39-38-37-34-30-29-27-28-26-27-24-24-29-off The New Pornographers are a Canadian Indie rock band, who had their first big hit on my weekly chart. What I really loved about this song was the male/female duo vocals throughout the song. It sounded like a perfect song to hit on Alt chart too, but it actually charted on AAA instead and became a big Top 10 song. Here it peaked just outside of my top 20 songs, but was on, long enough to score one of the big ,top 100 ,songs of 2017.Peak: 24Wks: 15

97. 12 Girl Friend - Tragic On The Dance Floor (3 weeks #21) 47-45-40-35-29-25-23-21-21-21-23-33-off Girl Friend is a male/female indie pop band from Manchester , England. You might recall them from my chart last year, with their big hit "Monte Carlo"? This is an upbeat disco/dance number that knows exactly where to inject the synths vibe. It spent a total of 12 weeks on my chart before peaking right outside the top 20.Peak: 21Wks: 12

96. 14 Spoon - Hot Thoughts (18) 49-46-42-38-34-31-28-24-22-21-18-19-20-28-offThe Texas based Indierock band; Spoon ,is up next with a great Alternative song. This one cracked my top 20 with such ease and spent a total of 14 weeks in the top 50. This band started off strong on Alt chart, with this song, but soon realize they will have better success on the AAA chart. This song was actually a big #1 song on the AAA chart. Should be an easy favorite among the Pulse Rocksters too.Peak: 18Wks: 14

Muna is a three woman Indiepop, band from the U.S. I love this song; which basically give the message to be proud of being yourself. "Put it high On the Loudspeaker" is such an inspirational lyric.Peak: 18Wks: 15

94. 10 Liv Sin - Let Me Out (12)* 40-34-28-24-19-16-14-12-14-14-There are a lot of different genres on my top 100, and it wouldn't be complete without some fierce Swedish heavy metal from Liv Sin. Liv, whose actual name is , Liv Jagrell, is the former lead singer for the metal band Sister Sin, and this year she broke out with her first solo record; entitled, "Follow Me". "Let Me Out" spent many weeks on my Metal chart and HOT LIST, before finally breaking into the top 50. The song has an "Old School" Metal vibe, which is exactly the reason it is still causing havok on my weekly charts. With an early peak of #12, "Let Me Out", checks in nicely at #94.Peak: 12Wks: 10

93. 12 Echosmith - Future Me (12)* 49-42-37-33-30-27-21-21-18-14-13-12-#93 is another relatively new song on my charts. It comes from one of the newest Indiepop bands that have hit the scene in the last few years. Echosmith, broke out huge on my chart with their hit song "Cool Kids". Since then they have had hit after hit on my weekly charts. This year they released their sophmore album, and while this is not the actual first single off the album, it is the one that quickly caught my ear. I think Sydney has some beautiful and powerful vocals, and "Future Me" will surely continue its trek to the top of my charts in 2018. Peak: 12Wks: 12

This band's music grabs you right from their intros. They two man band. One on Guitars and vocals and one on the skins. For a two man band, these rockers dish out some incredible songs. If you love guitar solos, like me, then this is your song. I'm sure it will be a pulse afvorite when we rank down 2017's top Active songs of the year. Could easily be a #1 contender on that list.Peak: 20Wks: 18

Nordic Metal, like K-pop, is one genre I cannot live without. It has everything to do, with the high Octane almost operatic like vocals of the lead singers too. "Dim Days Of Dolor" was a melodic monster that ran its full 20 week course on my weekly charts. It was also a big Crossover from my Metal Charts. The Sleeve art is an original of mine using a great photo of the band I found on line.Peak: 20Wks: 20

It's the second song off "80's Recovered"; a compilation of 80's icons covering big hits by today's biggest bands. I think Go West captured the atmosphere of the song perfect and found a way to make it their own. Peter Cox's ,mild pleasant vocals, also, brought the lyrics to life for s second time around. This is another big hit that ran its full 20 week run on my weekly charts. Peak: 20Wks: 20

It wasn't too surprising to find it there, since it has a really great Indeirock vibe to it. I can best compare it to "High Ticket Attractions", except this one only has male vocals. This song had a rather peculiar run on my chart. It traveled up and down and even after peaking at #22, it still continued to grace the chart for a few weeks more. That is a sign of a strong song, thus earning it's slot in my top 100 songs of 2017. Some complete loser, flagged the music video on youtube, so I can't post that for you, but I recommend you give it a view elsewhere. It's interesting to say the least.Peak: 22Wks: 17

It was originally written by Ric Ocasek for the "Heartbeat City". It even has that big guitar sound of "Magic", but did not find a home until his 1993, solo album, "Quick Change World". I've had this album in my collection for years, yet never charted the song until this year. It's a great song that suddenly just clicked with me, and with all the 80's icons making comebacks, now a days, I thought it sounded just right for some 2017 chart action. I even made an original sleeve art for it to give it the full complete effect.Peak: 19Wks: 16

I discovered Xandria by previewing songs on Napalm records label. The symphonic vibe of the song immediately clicked with me. The band has gone through 4 different lead vocalists, but now are graced with the amazing vocal ranges of Dianne van Giersbergen. This song has it all. Strong vocals, melodic guitars and a killer climatic finish to the song; which might even fool you into thinking you heard an awesome opera.Peak: 19Wks: 17

86. 12 DNCE - Body Moves (16) 49-38-29-25-22-21-20-19-17-16-20-32-offUp next is the huge Pop hit by the Super group DNCE. The main reason I like this band has got to be for Joe Jonas's vocals, but I also think they have a great disco/dance vibe to their music. This song in particular, blew my mind for it's sexy/ risque lyrics. The whole song is a sexy 4:00 minute movie. When it comes to Pop music , I love bands that actually sound and look like they are playing their instruments. This song like ;most pop music makes an initial bang effect on me, and usually make quick, but short lived trips to the top of my weekly charts. idk how well this song performed on the actual Hot 100, but unless everyone is tone deaf, I'm guessing this was a big top 10 smash. If not? It should have been.

Back in 1988, Warrant was one of the premier bands that brought the Powerballad onto the Pop charts, with songs like "Sometimes She Cries" , "I Saw Red" and the massive hit, "Heaven". Jani Lane, R.I.P ,had some of the best Rock n Roll vocals of that era. Since his passing the band has reformed and now are fronted by Ex-Lynch Mob vocalist, Robert Mason. They are also one of the latest additions to Frontiers Recods Label. This year they returned with a "Louder Harder Faster" sound, and this track seemed like the "Perfect" addition to my weekly charts. With three weeks at #19 and a nice 16 week chart run, Warrant; secure their slot ,in my top 100 songs of the year.

84. 16 Moenia - Prohibido Besar ft. María León (2 weeks #16) 44-39-35-31-28-26-23-22-20-19-17-16-16-18-23-30- off#84 brings us closer to the top 80 songs of the year. It is from the Mexican electro band, Moenia. That's electro, not elektro; which is a world of difference to me. Electro means great synthpop sound with electric drum pads and vocal effects. This is also the third song I'm charting off their "Fantom" album. This song also features some guest vocals from Ex- Playa Limbo's vocalist, Maria Leon. If you are a big Moenia fan, then you know they always stay close to that traditional synthpop sound that made them such a force on pop music in the 90's. The song also pays homage to the famous, Sentidos Opuestos, song in the chorus. The sleeve art is another original by me. I wanted to give equal facetime to Maria, because she is a big part of the vocalworks of this song.Peak: 16Wks: 16

I was still charting everything under the sun from this band, when they surprised me with a brand new album. This particular song is the last single I was charting from their last album, but they still have two more songs that will show up before this list is through. "Not Your Way" is an amazing uptempo, NRgetic song sung in the fashion that only Mandy Lee could. The music Video is also loads of fun.

Emphasis on word Rock, because this band doesn't fool around with Commercial jingles or any of that hybred style that is currently infesting the Alternative chart. This is true Alternative rock. If you love it, Run with it, if you don't ,you can sit on the sidelines with those old folks featured in the song's music video, because This is a great song that rocked from start to finish. If there is one band, a rock fan can always rely on, it's the Foo Fighters, and this song shows just why. Peak: 14Wks: 17
