Best one that comes to mind is Gasolina by Daddy Yankee, I still hear people reference and talk about it all the time despite it only peaking at #32 13 years ago

Jesus Take The Wheel Toxic How did Jesus Take The Wheel do on CHR? I only paid attention to country at the time and I know it was huge there.

Actually, IDK what I'm talking about. Jesus Take The Wheel did really good for a Country song. #78 year end. It just didn't peak as high as a couple other Carrie songs (but still peaked at #20) So that must have been why I was under the impression that it was surprisingly low.
But no, that's actually real solid for a Country song. It's still way more remembered/iconic than its chart life would suggest though.

Yeah, I wouldn't look to the Hot 100 in the Early 2000's. I t was in a weird phase where iTunes didn't count and no one was selling physical singles. Song like "Sk8er Boi" and "Toxic" were massive but only getting low Top 10 peaks. They were both #1 pop hits! Not "meh" at all.

This I think it's important for 2000s songs and there radio stats, cause those were more definitive in defining how big a song was back then

I guarantee you more people know about "Slow Hands" (#11) than they do "Gucci Gang" (#3). If not, there's at least not an eight place difference.

I think that that's a bad example as imo Slow Hands is rather forgettable.

I guarantee you more people know about "Slow Hands" (#11) than they do "Gucci Gang" (#3). If not, there's at least not an eight place difference. Why is that? Because PDs decided to put Niall’s song into power rotation while the public themselves chose to listen to Lil Pump? The post you quoted only works because physical sales were dead and the Hot 100 took some time to correct for that. That’s not really applicable today.

Grace ft G-Eazy - "You Don't Own Me" That song was everywhere but still didn't do well at all in the US
Lady Gaga - "Marry The Night" One of her least successful singles yes, but paired up with it's memorably long music video and just the song overall is pretty memorable.
Demi Lovato - "Skyscraper" It's chart life wasn't very strong aside from it's debut week, but it is a widely remembered song and overall one of Demi's biggest, if not, possibly her signature.
