This was released as a single from 1997's Life After Death. It peaked at #2 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, #6 in the UK and #1 on the Hot 100. Classic.

I didn't like this that much when it was out but I have warmed up to it over the years.
That was really creative having Kelly Price re-singing the "I'm Coming Out" vocal bits and the main hook.
There was a club mix on the single by Razor & Guido which had a slow part in the middle at a tempo similar to the original.

I liked it intitinally but got burned out by it, probably due to overplay. Also, both Big Poppa and Puffy had made better singles during that period. But I don't mind it once in a while.

"Mo Money Mo Problems" was one of the few rap songs I loved back in 1997. The "I'm Coming Out" sample and Kelly Price's hook made it for me. Also, this and "I'll Be Missing You" are the reason why Puffy became one of my favorite rappers back then. smh.
This song was intended for Mase's debut album, but it ended up going to Biggie since he outshone him and Puff. By the way, this felt more like Puffy single because it was so flashy and catchier than Biggie's other singles.
Lastly, Stevie J. should be eating off of this.

I still hear that song on the radio every now and then but it was overplayed during 1997 on Power 106 and 92.3 The Beat so I don’t revisit it as often because of that but it is a hip hop classic nonetheless and it sounds better than today’s hip hop music. I still hear it on KDAY, Real 92.3 and Power 106.
