My ranking was spot on! Four other people ranked also this at #8.

Team #perfectscore for Lady Marmalade!
I'm just happy My First Night With You made top 10. I knew it wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea because it's so cheesy, but I absolutely adore it. (Specifically the Ric Wake mix, the album version is a bit overlong). The video is also really cute too.

My First Night - One of the standouts on her debut. A lot of fans prefer the video version because she gave a better vocal performance. Although a lot of fans would've wanted a different song as a single choice. I can see why her label chose it as a single. In all honesty, this song fits Mya more than Deborah.
Lady Marmalade - Iconic and history making collaboration among female artists. I'm relieved this wasn't voted No.1 though. It was refreshing to hear Ron Fair give Mya her flowers and praise her contribution.

I didn't know "My First Night" was so disliked. lol.

Bonus: "Things Come & Go" feat. Sean Paul
A jam from Moodring that should've been a single but did at least get a feature on the Barbershop 2: Back in Business soundtrack.

Reveals will resume shortly. #7 is 12 points ahead of #8 and this song has the 10th highest SD of the rankdown. Kanenrá:ke knocked it out the top-5 and then DistrictTwelve almost knocked it out the top-10 but Albie was able to bring it to its final #7 position.

Things Come & Go - Definitely one of the many standouts and gems on Moodring. I wish Interscope would've released it as a single like intended. Sean Paul was a mainstay on radio during this time.

"Movin' On" was the second single released from Mýa. While it only peaked at #34 on the Hot 100, it was her second top-10 R&B hit, peaking at #4, and peaked at #3 on Rhythmic. This was an instant favorite from the moment I heard her album and I'm very pleased to see that so many here ranked it in the top-10. I'm also glad several people specified that they ranked the solo version of this song because I've always preferred Mýa's bridge to Silkk's forever offbeat flow.

This was originally in my Top 10, number 8 to be exact, but there was a glaring production snafu that I never realized until a couple of weeks ago. When I was listening to both versions the sparkle noise that they used is incredibly too damn loud in the mix. It's aggressively loud and I feel attacked every time it pops up and drowns out Mýa. This also could just be an effect of me watching the music video religiously resulting with the audio quality being lower and making it less intrusive. Edit: Oh and DistrictTwelve is just garbage for having this near the bottom.

If you're upset about #6 not making the top-5, blame Kanenrá:ke as his list was the one to kick it out of the top-5 position for good. :kii: With the fifth lowest SD, it was briefly top-3 and earned 13 top-10 rankings; two more people will lose their #2.

"Fallen" was the second single released from Moodring and is Mýa's last song to chart on the Hot 100 (peaking at #51); it went to #35 on R&B and #18 on Rhythmic which is respectable considering it took Interscope five months after the album dropped to release a second single and the promotional push for it wasn't that great (thanks Ron). While I think it's a beautiful song, there were several other records on Moodring so worthy of being a single that I've always been disappointed this is where the Moodring era ended.

And now the time has come for me (and 1 other person) to lose our #1. I am thankful it did manage to squeak past #6 by 3 points and reclaim a top-5 position in the end. It's smack dab in the middle of the SD pack with only nine top-10 rankings (and 2 people with the audacity to rank it bottom-5). All three of Mýa's lead singles made the top-5 as well as all three Fear of Flying singles - so what came in at #5?

I fearfully keep wanting to answer "Free" for all of your questions and yet it has evaded reveal so now I'm fearing it's my number one. :[

Movin’ On: I wish this would’ve ended up higher than It’s All About Me. It’s not my favorite of her singles, but I’ve always really liked it.
Fallen: Another perfect score! I’m glad it was a single because the video is one of my favorites. I really, really love the underwater sequence. But it’s a shame they waited so long to release it after My Love is Like...Wo.
I always skip “Things Come & Go” on the album.

"Best of Me" feat. Jadakiss was the first single released from Fear of Flying. It was Mýa's first single to miss the Hot 100 top-40 (peaking at #50) but still went top-20 on Rhythmic (#18) and R&B (#14) while also hitting the top-40 in several international markets. I vividly remember reading about this song in VIBE magazine, seeing the video premiere on BET and being floored by the sound of it. To my knowledge, this was the first R&B single that Swizz Beatz produced and still none of the other R&B records of that time sound quite like it. Every time I hear it, I get that same nostalgic feeling all over again and I can't imagine any other song having introduced Fear of Flying except this one. I knew it would be polarizing here but top-5 is better than I expected!
Fun Fact: "Lie Detector" was the original lead single but Interscope was a bit hesitant about how the "R&B-meets-reggae" vibe of it would have been received.

I defineitly didn’t expect that one to do as well as top 5, but I’m pleasantly surprised (I thought the remix would do better). And another perfect score from me!
The top 3 will be perfect if It’s All About Me can go next.
