Adding up the charting versions, you get: "Havana" - 1.3861 "Perfect" - 1.3585 So, that's pretty damn close. My only point is to say "Havana" doesn't have #1 in the bag. It needs to be ahead in overall streaming. Isn't it #1 on Spotify right now though thanks to the album release? I thought it was leaps and bounds over Perfect, I think that will be what clinches it Havana is #2 on Spotify. Perfect is #26 and #63, which combines to be #5. |

It's interesting that in terms of total views the music video for "Havana" lags behind the audio-only video on YouTube by a decent margin.

^Ok that isn't entirely fair, it's just that most people like Camila's song better in this case. I don't think anyone beyond a few people here puts Camila in the pantheon of music and I'm sure some people here would put JT there but there's no way around the fact that Havana is a pretty great song that she did a surprisingly good job on while Filthy is a total mess and honestly I think the worst part of that song is Justin Timberlake himself. He can sell stupid lyrics, he's done it before on Carry Out (which I really like don't @ me), but he didn't bring his A-game here at all and so hearing him say stuff like "What you gonna do with all that meat?" just makes me cringe so hard.

Because stats should determine everyone's opinions? Nah, if I don't like something, I don't like something. He could save a record number of orphans from the largest fire to ever happen while simultaneously reaching #1 for 27 weeks, earn 25 Grammys in one night, make Justin Bieber quit music, and convince Jesus himself to bring world peace, and I would still think "Filthy" is absolute garbage. That being said, I also don't get the obsession from some posters of "Havana" needing to be #1. It's a cute song, but nothing that's really worthy of huge praise. Are y'all really that thirsty for a pop girl to be #1? That also being said, I'm rooting for "Havana" this week, but purely from a chart standpoint. It's not often a song charts for as long as it has and manages to swipe the top spot just ever so perfectly timed between two giant #1s (Perfect and I'm assuming Finesse). And finally, going back to the post that started it all, Choco was merely talking about the quality of each individual song, not the artist that was singing them. There was no need to get butthurt over Justin Timberlake. |

It’s on occasional ads for upcoming games on NBC, but the ads are about 15 seconds long. Basically zero airplay for the song, too. Its run has been absolutely incredible, and its video drops in a couple weeks (before the Super Bowl), and then it’s being used as the official Winter Olympics song on NBC. Stunned by how successful this has been already. |
