I'm really curious about her life in NY in early 80's, especially with Les Gang which included Basquiat, Andy Warhol, etc. The fact that she spent her youth with such cool and inspiring people must make some artists jealous, especially ones who try so hard to be cool. I worked down in the World Financial Center / World Trade Center for 13 years. A good portion of the early part of Desperately Seeking Susan was filmed down in the marina. My friends and I used to go and pay homage to some of the spots where they filmed scenes and reenact. Of course, a lot of it changed due to development, but we would approximate. My friend would sit on the railing and then I would call out "Susan!"

Ok, here is a little fun game. What was Madonna's last single of your high school career? (Provided you were in high school after 1982) For me, it was "Causing a Commotion" which was released at the very beginning of my Senior Year. She did not have any other singles my senior year. Yikes, I am getting old hahaha! For me it was Rain! Class of 93 here. Erotica album was basically my while Senior year from October of 92 to June of 93. I even gave a speech in class talking about the lyrics "only the one that hurts you can make you feel better" lol

mine was You'll See. Evita came out when I was in the dorms.
I have another game...
where are you in your life right now where Madonna was in hers?
right now I just released Don't Tell Me. So I'm still relevant to mainstream radio, hehe.

Madonna posted this photo. She is almost looking her old self...minus the pink hair. The photo also shows she is back in her NYC brownstone.

“American Life” was the last single Madonna released before I graduated HS.
At my current age, Madonna was on The Girlie Show World Tour and her film Dangerous Game had just been released.

Hung Up came out the fall after I graduated so, technically, it was Love Profusion. At my age currently, she was in the throes of her Immaculate Collection era.

This is neat!
"Revolver was technically her last single of my HS career, and she would go on to release "Give Me All Your Luvin'" in my first year of university. At my age currently, she was in the middle of her Like a Virgin and on her way to becoming a superstar.

"Vogue" came out on top of CashbBox's year-end chart; "Like a Prayer" had topped it in 1989, This was before CB started losing its luster.

crazy that Like a Virgin was the #2 song of the year in 1985. Also Take a Bow at #9 in 1995. Then again, isn't Take a Bow her biggest hit with the most longevity?

and those are honestly two of her very best. Die Another Day is #1 for me, and I would place Beautiful Stranger for sure in her Top 10.

I'm in the middle, but I watched the performance of it from Reinvention Tour and it sounds great in concert. The footage I watched was as if it was an official release.

I love Die Another Day. That was one of my most played tracks back then. I can still remember the first time I heard it on Miami's Y-100 station. How exciting that was!!

Die Another Day was definitely not like anything I heard on pop radio at that time. So unique and out there.
